My friend is a huge fan of Xenoblade, and has been for a couple of years now. He forced me to start playing this game a few months back, and anytime we got a chance to hang out in-person I would play it. Just finished it yesterday, and I can safely call it one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. The word masterpiece is so often used to describe things that don’t deserve the title nowadays, but Xenoblade Chronicles is more than worthy of being called such. Lovable characters, an incredibly powerful story, fun combat, phenomenal music. The praise was completely earned. Absolutely fucking incredible.
I remember when my friend rightfully jumped into my Discord DMs saying that the first Xenoblade Chronicles was getting a Switch remaster. I didn't know Xenoblade even existed, just thought the character Shulk was cool in Smash 4 when I had it. After a month of its release, I caved in and tried it. Upon the game booting up, there was the Monado stuck in the ground with a blue sky and verdant grass. Then, I hear this theme. I felt tears fall before I even started this game. It was so worth playing. Meeting Shulk for who he really was made me know that the game he came from was a true emotional roller coaster. This game came out during the height of the pandemic and it saved me. I felt so trapped from boredom, even New Horizons was becoming boring. Xenoblade Chronicles kept me entertained and always excited to uncover new things wherever my team of three went. Now I have Xenoblade 2 and Xenoblade 3, and have been playing those for hours on end, even after completing Xenoblade 3. How far we've come. While I will remember my adventures with Shulk and his friends, my memories of my first playthrough will never die. Thank you MonolithSoft for giving me such a treasure of a series.
I just beat this game for the first time after playing through 3. Big mistake! This game was phenomenal but because I jumped the gun and went on to 3 I already knew most of this plot through videos catching me up on the story. But Jesus was the story phenomenal. It’s not often that I elicit emotion because I’m a very locked up person however I’m writing this with tears in my eyes because of this game. No other experience is really quite like it and I wished that it was more accessible to people. But at the same time I feel that people have to discover this series on there own and have the will to finish it. I’m so glad that I had this experience despite my folly in terms of timing. Thank you Monolith Soft
Everytime I boot on this game I do this all the time: > Watch the sword and grass, listen to the music. > Wait untill this part of the song 1:41 hits and I press START. > Watch the title roll. > Feel the same feeling as I did the first time over and over again. Your welcome Nastolga hunters.
When I first finished the game, I was crying. I was glad we beat Zanza, Fiora had her normal body back and there was nothing to go but up. And then when I got to the title screen, I cried harder. Seeing them sitting all together is so comforting, such a colorful and eclectic cast of characters. It’s great.
One of the most beautiful title screens I've seen in my life, the monado sticking in the grass, with the piano inviting you. And time passes, it's a truly beautiful sight that makes you want to just sit and watch.
When I started the game I kinda skipped through the menu and didn’t notice this song, but when I finished and found myself sat there listening to this I honestly found a tear or two rolling down the cheek. Games just too good and I wish more people would play it.
Even after so many years, this is the song that I always use to test headphones. One of the most most brilliant, powerful, and sparingly used masterpieces of composition.
I watched a friend play this game, and then I watched a cutscene movie to fill in the gaps I didn't see while he was streaming. Him and this game were the whole reason I bought a Switch, so I could experience it for myself. I'd never heard the game's title screen before I booted it up myself, when my Switch arrived in the mail after I got home from work. I'd hardly seen the title screen itself, actually, outside of the times my friend was closing his stream and would let it sit while he was shutting it down. And I hadn't noticed the OST either. When those first few notes started up, I was smiling down at the screen in my hands. And as the sky behind the Monado began to shift, I had to do my best not to cry. I already knew this game's story. But I'd somehow never heard this game's theme. And it was...the strangest, loneliest, happiest feeling I'd felt with regards to a game in a very, *very* long time.
Because of this music, I just stared at the title screen for like about 10 minutes after finish the game (include Future Connected expansion).. Looking at Shulk, Fiora, Melia, Dunban, Reyn, Sharla, Riki, Nene and Kino sitting together, the feeling is just so special..
I remember when I pre ordered this on my Switch because I'd never played it before and when I got to the title screen I just kind of sat there, I just wanted to keep enjoying the beautiful music
@@TheRebornExpert for me its kinda giving a hope of begining vibe. the DLC of Xenoblade 3 is a step stone for the future. like the 2nd tittle in DLC said "Future Redemed" its kinda speak that they pave the way for next generation to trive.
Now we got the main theme all three. I have confidence that xenoblade three will be an amazing game like the ones that came before it. I can’t wait to see what is to come for the decade the xenoblade series has been around. I’m very happy that it is getting the recognition it deserves seeing on how much trouble it had on wii, 3ds, and wii u. The switch saved it.
This song makes me cry because every time I listen to it it reminds me of something for some reason. Not to do with the game ether. It just reminds me of a sad moment in my life. Weird right
Nope, not weird at all. I remember the time in my life when I first played xenoblade and what it meant to me. As such, listening to its music transports me back to those times. When a game and its music has that kind of power, u know u have stumbled upon something incredible. Really sorry that this song reminds u of things I’m sure u would rather forget. For me, it reminds me of good memories, but I suppose music can have the inverse effect as well. Sorry that this song is held back by unfortunate memories.
I only now started to play the game with the definitive release,but......man,this migth be my favorite ost of all time, its perfection in every angle,i remember that once my cousin told me that he had the game and that it was an amazing game,he even said he would give the game to me......needless to say that never happened,so here i am,paid it with my own money, ready to play the game.(i really hate sidequest so im just speeding the story, and it makes me sad because i want to explore all the game, yet the story is so f#&_$$ good, and the characters as well, that i just have to continue the story😂😂)
Not weird at all...this song reminds me of my second son that I lost. I played this game during my wife's entire pregnancy...and after he was born he remembered this song and would run to me whenever I let it play. I come to tears when I hear it now because in a way...it was HIS song.
@@Darkwing709 So sorry for your son. I hope you and your family stay safe, and just remember now he's watching you from the sky, while he imagine being there with you, listening to his song, with his father.
Never played this game before. Watched a play through a little bit when definitive edition came out. The streamer decided to wait on the title screen. This music moved so much, and I cried like a baby. This is a masterpiece
I miss playing good games back during a time where playing games was still enjoyable. I got such hardcore nostalgia the other day when I went back to play this game for the first time since high school.
I just took 4 minutes when I opened the game to listen to this masterpiece of a song when I first started the game, since around 2015 I've been wanting to play this game, because a certain loudmouth youtuber got me into the series and was not able due to the wii copies being expensive and few and far between and not having a new 3ds so imagine my happiness when, after the year that I was planning on asking for this game for Christmas, the trailer for this game comes out, not gonna lie as the first rpg I've played since turning 18 this will be one heck of a journey
Similar for me, except I learned of the game's existence through playing as Shulk in Smash, then I checked out a certain loudmouth youtuber's LP, only watched the start just to decide whether the game was for me or not. Decided I wanted to play it but like you couldn't get hold of a Wii copy. I'd pretty much decided that TH-cam was the only way I'd get to experience this game when the trailer was released! Now I'm finally playing it and it's everything I hoped and more!!
This Soundtrack is still to today, my most loved Videogame Soundtrack of all time... It exceeds the boundaries of a Gaming Soundtrack as a classical masterpiece of the modern era... The whole build up with different instruments into the climax finished by the calm ending is just pure eargasm.
I had only got this game recently because I saw Xenoblade 3 in the direct and was excited, as Xenoblade was one of those franchises I enjoyed from afar and never really had the NEED to play it Through this I learned bits about the story and sort of got a general understanding where the game would go, I always enjoyed listening to this series' music and so when Xenoblade 3 was announced, I decided that I should just play the game and bought the definitive edition. So I began playing Xenoblade Chronicles, I've honestly never considered a game to be my favorite of all time so fast than this one, with previous Favs I would usually take a bit until I decided it was my favorite game but this game just blew me away and I'm not even done with it yet! I've been playing it and I'm constantly asking myself if "this is my favorite game?"
This is great, but let me give you a warning. If you're still playing through the game and haven't finish it yet, I recommend you stay off the comment sections of anything Xenoblade related, or you will be in the risk of seeing major spoilers. Well, with this in mind, have fun and enjoy one of the, if not, BEST game of all time!
To me, the song has a whole different meaning after certain events. And after I beat the game, it sounded even more beautiful and held more meaning than when I had first heard it.
This title screen theme is just so majestic. I always like watching the title screen and listening to this every time I start up this game. Xenoblade Chronicles will always be one of my most favorite games of all time.
After a long day, when your troubles have all gone but still linger, it’s best to do something you love. Wether it’s being with the one you love, or play a video game. This song, I feel, encapsulates the feeling of tranquility that comes with doing that.
This is one of my favourite title screens of any game ever, only contender would be post new game + title screen of Xenoblade 2 for reasons which I'll not spoil, as that game is also a masterpiece.
Usually, I don't stick around on a title screen after starting a new game for long. There are a few exceptions (Paper Mario: TTYD, Kingdom Hearts 3), but Xenoblade 1 IS one of those exceptions. And not only was I taken away by this track when I first played the Wii version... booting up Definitive Edition for the first time on Switch also had me completely silent and still again in awe until the track concluded... like I was transported back in time to the first time I ever played this game.
I think this game still have the best menu/title song out of all three. It was so satisfying to watch the morning changes to the night while the music intensified so much. While other 2 games where like soft piano, its nice but not as great as this.
I can’t help but think of this theme as a theme of reconciliation. Bitter enemies… after coming to terms… the damage they’ve done to each other… embracing each other… in friendship and love… Old wounds… healing in the making… So many tears… will dry in due time…
God this is just such a masterpiece. Shimomura just has an uncanny ability to nail the tone of whatever game she works on through her music. Stunning game!
I'm just imagining the shocked faces on every streamer's face when they reacted to the reveal trailer of this game just by the first few piano notes, I'm getting the game right now, I cannot wait to give it another go and this time, I will finish the game!

...I can speak from experience.
Same And Now Its My 2sd Favorite Franchise Ever
6 hours is weak numbers lol
i honestly don't get the feeling i only played xc:de and xc2 for a bit. but i got a bug with it that said i got in like 70 hours and with xc2 it was even worse it said i have 215 hours in it, am i the only one with this bug?
@@fhede4872Did you left your switch on while running the game?
@@pedrobeckup456 while it's not what I did, it sometimes feels like it since I still have more quests to do. Mostly blade quests.
Everytime I boot on this game I do this all the time:
> Watch the sword and grass, listen to the music.
> Wait untill this part of the song 1:41 hits and I press START.
> Watch the title roll.
> Feel the same feeling as I did the first time over and over again.
Your welcome Nastolga hunters.
1:26
I can always hear the line that Shulk says over this part. That’s when you know the song was used perfectly.
Is that!? a homs!?
When I first finished the game, I was crying. I was glad we beat Zanza, Fiora had her normal body back and there was nothing to go but up. And then when I got to the title screen, I cried harder. Seeing them sitting all together is so comforting, such a colorful and eclectic cast of characters. It’s great.
I'm gonna miss them
Z * * * *
One of the most beautiful title screens I've seen in my life, the monado sticking in the grass, with the piano inviting you. And time passes, it's a truly beautiful sight that makes you want to just sit and watch.
Ah, Yoko Shimomura composed this. That explains why it's so good.
Anything that involves her musical talent is already a sign of such beautiful masterpieces
When I started the game I kinda skipped through the menu and didn’t notice this song, but when I finished and found myself sat there listening to this I honestly found a tear or two rolling down the cheek. Games just too good and I wish more people would play it.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3…
It is Time… for another journey.
And with great music to complement that great journey!
Even after so many years, this is the song that I always use to test headphones. One of the most most brilliant, powerful, and sparingly used masterpieces of composition.
This is easily one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard
Aww, yeah, I getcha ^^ Same here with XC2's title screen
who knew that after this song the best story ever told starts?
The song itself is a story better than most games
Still the best title screen
I remember when I pre ordered this on my Switch because I'd never played it before and when I got to the title screen I just kind of sat there, I just wanted to keep enjoying the beautiful music
When this theme plays at……”you know where” when the reveal of………”you know what” happens………agh! Goosebumps. Every time.
Isn’t it the only time when this plays in the actual game? I think that music is perfect for that certain scene
This song hits harder once you know what the monado really is 😔
Song hits hardest when you finish the game if you ask me.
@@sageoffire3964 Song will TRULY hit the hardest when we finish the Xenoblade 3 DLC Story and see Shulk, and the others, pass away. 😢
@@TheRebornExpert Well they didn't exactly pass away but I still ugly cried. The end of an era

Years down the line, I’m gonna hear this somewhere and I’m just going to break down.

@@Mwamba_ three’s main theme came out when the second trailer hit. Just look up xenoblade 3 theme, it’s like 2 minutes.
@@superzebra3144 just listened to it and like I said it's good but not a piano ballet like 1 and 2

Listening to all the music again due to the most recent direct. Xenoblade 3 hype!
Indeed!

Watching Riki play with his kids while everyone is sitting together watching the sea hits hard.
Still 6 Years after my first playthrough I'm still as moved as the first time, listening to this masterpiece.
I love this game so much
I just took 4 minutes when I opened the game to listen to this masterpiece of a song when I first started the game, since around 2015 I've been wanting to play this game, because a certain loudmouth youtuber got me into the series and was not able due to the wii copies being expensive and few and far between and not having a new 3ds so imagine my happiness when, after the year that I was planning on asking for this game for Christmas, the trailer for this game comes out, not gonna lie as the first rpg I've played since turning 18 this will be one heck of a journey
I’m so glad man. I got the game a week ago and so far, it’s an absolute masterpiece. Hope you have a good time with it :)
Yeah. So we are thinking of the same person. Okay.
First playthrough was on 3DS can't wait for this one.
Same thing, just not only due to Smash Bros and THAT Certain Loudmouth TH-camr, but also GameXplain, XCX and XC2
@Samuel Botheras assuming everyone else is talking about the same one as me, it's Chuggaaconroy
"Good. Know you feel it. Swing the blade to your heart's content!"

I had only got this game recently because I saw Xenoblade 3 in the direct and was excited, as Xenoblade was one of those franchises I enjoyed from afar and never really had the NEED to play it
Through this I learned bits about the story and sort of got a general understanding where the game would go, I always enjoyed listening to this series' music and so when Xenoblade 3 was announced, I decided that I should just play the game and bought the definitive edition.

This title screen theme is just so majestic. I always like watching the title screen and listening to this every time I start up this game. Xenoblade Chronicles will always be one of my most favorite games of all time.
It´s beautifull.
I love it.
No matter how many times I hear this theme, I always feels the chills on my back
This entire game franchise changed my life completely. If it ever ends, what would the world come to?
All Xeno games title screens are great but nothing beats xc1's
Where it all started, the title screen of the very first Xenoblade.
I knew from the moment the title screen showed up that this game was going to be special.
Currently crying because music should not be allowed to be this beautiful
i must be hallucinating i keep hearing dearly beloved throughout this ost istg
This is the best title theme in the franchise so far!
I think this game still have the best menu/title song out of all three. It was so satisfying to watch the morning changes to the night while the music intensified so much. While other 2 games where like soft piano, its nice but not as great as this.
Oh I absolutely agree with you! This theme is a masterpiece at its finest
I can’t help but think of this theme as a theme of reconciliation. Bitter enemies… after coming to terms… the damage they’ve done to each other… embracing each other… in friendship and love… Old wounds… healing in the making… So many tears… will dry in due time…
