Yes! I noticed this symbolism from Engage the Enemy. I always love it when games do stuff like this in their games, along with using leitmotifs. Another example which comes to mind is Chrono Trigger (World Revolution) where Lavos's Theme is playing but then the heroic brass instruments come in like "yeah we're doing the impossible" but THEN the Chrono Trigger motif comes in and makes it all really HYPE. The placement of the various themes also feels like a battle between the heros and Lavos. Genius

The day and night themes always have motifs of each other. All of the Colony 6 themes also share the same motif. There are more, I'm sure, but then there are also motifs between XC1 and 2, namely Counterattack with Engage the Enemy, and Torigoth with Hometown

That may be an unpopular opinion. It's 3 very same-y areas in a row, two of which are very large and all crawling with enemies but with scant sidequests. It's the least interesting part of the game for exploring and story (until you actually reach the top).
Dominic Jannazo I agree with you as mechonis core and central factory were both pretty lengthy and imo the best area in mechonis was agnirtha but sadly that was the shortest part of it all and it’s size kind of pales In comparison to the rest mechonis especially considering it was supposed to be a massive capital it would have been so fun to explore more of it
The moment I hear the combat music was replaced with this, combined with all the crazy events leading up until then, was the moment sealed my conclusion this is one of the most epic shit I have ever played.

0:40 really did it for me. I stopped being overleveled in chapters 11+ so battles took slightly longer, and I was okay with it because of this part of the song. 😍 I also love how they have different battle themes when you are on the Bionis and Mechonis.

I was pretty disappointed that we never got a playable Machina character, but the concept of a humanoid life form, especially one created in a mechanical image, (that is not quite an android) is really neat, especially considering the fact that they were born from two separate worlds in a sense. I would be really happy if a future Xenoblade game reintroduced the Machina, though I am skeptical that it will actually happen.
