Im watching F1 for over 30 years and this was the most boring era I have witness. On top of that half of the names you mentioned would be backmarkers in todays field. I understand you feel sentimental about that period of time cause you were a kid back then but it wasn't anything special. Fissi was just bad, Webber nothing special really, young Button was ok and Ralf was always a pale shadow of his older brother. Today you have Hamilton, Vettel, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Hulkenberg, Perez plus many youngsters that shown real talent so far like Ocon, Gasly or Leclerc.
I'll be honest that one made me cry. I don't know why, the others made me emotional and respect both, Michael and his competitors even more but this one? So many emotions. I was born in '95, I'm German, my father always took me to watch races (eventhough we never could afford F1...) So naturally, growing up Michael was THE hero. I had a 5 on 2 Meter Flag of him and Michael Schumacher blankets. And his battles against Alonso where the ones I followed the closest and remember the best. And after Michael left (the first time) my eyes wandered to Alonso and I became a big fan of him. Him leavin this year, and now this video...so many memories and so many emotions came up. I wish Michael could say a few words about Fernando as well. I think he would consider Fernando his equal. Their battles were epic and the racing was hard but respectful.
I think it always go somewhat understated in this kind of memories of ALO vs MSC, but those last laps at Imola 2005 had us at home sitting at the edge of the sofa. It is, to this day, still the most intense battle I remember wathcing in F1.
The most important thing of their battle is that they only had 1 crash in a lot of epic battles. And that crash was under a safety car in Monaco😂. They knew perfectly where the limit of their cars was. These two are the gratest of 21st century. No doubt.
Man even if lewis hamilton won another 3 title and make it in total 10. This wont be change the reality of michael is a legend and greatest of all time.

2 fantastic drivers. Thank you both for the close racing. These two drivers made the sport and have better racing stories than any of the current f1 drivers
Yeah you are right about that but what i really despise about old eras of f1 is the stupid measures the took for safety like grooved tyres and idiotic chicanes that ruined the flow of many tracks
That's why the lap times are better than they were back then but ok...... people just bitch and cry over the sound that's it, the speed is the same if not faster now so really it's all about a fucking sound to old F1 fans lmao.
I'm not one for speculation but could you imagine the level of racing we'd have if Mika kept racing til Alonso turned up? That would have been a truly special time as a formula 1 fan.
I think it's fair to say that as naturally gifted as Fernando was, Michael's presence and Michael's _ethic_ made him even better. A driver's ethic counts for far more than is discussed in the cut and thrust of a season. Our instinct as fans is to make our assessments of drivers based largely, certainly primarily, on their speed. And it's obviously a fundamental thing, when your ultimate goal is to go the fastest. But if you examine the 'greats', the thing that sets them apart is their approach and devotion to the job, the realization that they are one part, albeit a very visible and rewarding part, of a team. Most importantly, the greats know how great they are, but in equal measure they know they have room for improvement.

130r at the outside. that is just pure porn, literally porn, no joke
You just get an orgasam when you see a pass like that like nothing else just cum everywhere
Literally Hitler
**When he says that was planned some laps before** 😍
No yoke indeed!
Cringe levels in this thread are off the charts boys
I haven't cried this badly in a long time. I hope that we will see Michael Schumacher in Ferrari Paddock soon.
Keep on fighting Michael, and Fernando you better get your ass back into a F1 car, you got at least one more Titel in you with the right car.
Those two battled in classics at Imola in 2005 and 2006
Legend talking about the legend.
Both the best of F1 from 2000 till now, by far....
Are we forgetting a young Lewis Hamilton out performed him??
Back in the old days, good times, great rivalries, that we won't see in a long time
Magnificent words by alonso to talk about Schumacher
Posting videos at this time in the morning? I think I'll have to buy an alarm clock too.
In Europe it's 1pm
@@flo_27 You are aware that there are differnt time zones within Europe?
@@flo_27 in Romania this was posted at 2 pm
@@fosso8803 But Europe is the base of F1 and also one of the continents with the Prime Meridian, so it's completely correct to base the timings on this zone.

James Allen was such an exciting commentator. Bring him back!
Better than crofty or problems guy Jonathon Leggard.
Also brundle dc combo was nice in 2011
@@_n_1894 Martin and DC were awesome together.
Ideally I would want Martin and DC again, they were perfect. Shame Sky haven't brought Coulthard across from C4, then we could have had 3 person commentators like the football does nowadays.
But yeah James Allen deserves to be on TV and Crofty while good just isn't as good as Allen or indeed Edwards. But he is light years ahead of Leggard.
Exactly! Crofty is a fair ground announcer at best
Fernando was, after Michael left, my go to hero. He just had that old school mentality. I really like him.
Wonderful words from the man who probably was the closest to Schumacher in terms of driving ability. I always appreciated and respected Alonso.
I've never clicked on an F1 video faster! Now PLEAAAAASE get him on beyond the grid... PLEEEEEEEEEASE
Sometimes one cannot describe what Alonso feels, but this time you clearly see the glint in his eyes. 😊
I miss Alonso and Schumacher... anyone who miss they?😭
they were my favorite drivers, I started watching Formula 1 at the age of 6 in 2000 and watched until 2007. Then I stopped watching it, now I'm getting back into it in 2019.
ma boi.. they are legends..
What a Great Race Between Fernando and Michael 😅😅..
Greatest Moment's Ever..
Him and Mika gave Michael a hard time on the track and that's something worth respecting.
Two of the GOATs. Well said. This is respect, fight like animals on track, shake hands after.
Michel and Alonso never crashed, but they had many fights ...legends...
These two guys were heroes to me, opened up my eyes towards the sport of F1 in the early 2000s
I remembered that I had to run upstairs in my apartment building to visit one of my neighbors' house and watch live F1 races through dish satellite.
Beautiful memories!
I will always remember that overtake in 130R, I was standing infront of the TV, screaming OVERTAKE, OVERTAKE! 😊
These were the things that created big passion for Formula 1 to many of us in Spain. Gracias Schumi. Gracias Nando.
That V10 Sound of the Cars back then 😍👌 Michael is the Legend. He will always stay as the Best in the History of Motorsport.
That's your subjective opinion, not saying he isn't a legend and that he isn't among the best in history but the best is very arguable
0:06 I like how he says that with conviction and fire in his eyes!
Fernando come back
Hello im from the future and i want to tell you that alonso is now with renault
I like that Liberty isn't glossing over Michael's weak or questionable points. Makes these videos even better, makes him seem more human. Superhuman.
You can see the tears in his eyes😭
That rivalry made me recover the pleasure of whatching F1, because finally (after Senna's death) Michael had a rival that was up to him in both talent and car! Great memories!
Michael Schumacher 7~Time F1 World Champion in the V10 Era! Enough Said! ♥️🌷🕯
I did not expect this much respect and honesty from Alonso.
When i listened to Alonso speak about Michael he sounds like Senna would've sounded like in 94 when talking about Prost. Both were intense rivalries with no love lost but when it was all said and done the one who stayed in F1 missed the other
I started to watch F1 in 2005, I was 6 years old. Since first race Alonso was my favourite driver, man who beat Schumacher and retired him. Why on old F1 highlists cars looks so fast, you can see amazing speed today you don't feel like that when you are watching race. #keepfightingmichael
Kimi retired Michael actually.
Kimi signed the Ferrari contract in 2005 and forced MSC to make a decision basically. Massa was out of a drive.
Miss you fernando
Love from india
Beautiful words and video.
Fernando could have easily won 8 championships, if it hadn’t been for the bad decisions he made.
OMEGALUL and people believe this s***
Thebassist Noeve for sure
Maybe 5 2007 2010 2012
Francisco Chavez stfu
Why not 8 that he went to mercedes he could easy win 5 or 6 more !
Both legends of the F1, much respect.
Two legends.
That move was totally ridiculously AMAZING
The most important thing of their battle is that they only had 1 crash in a lot of epic battles. And that crash was under a safety car in Monaco😂. They knew perfectly where the limit of their cars was. These two are the gratest of 21st century. No doubt.
That battle in San Marino is my best memory from Formula1. Still get goosebumps thinking about it.
I am missing Alonso so much this year. Hope to see him back in 2020 in a strong team like Redbull F1 Team.
Michael Schumacher et Fernando Alonso , pour moi le meilleur duo que la F1 moderne ai connu.
Man even if lewis hamilton won another 3 title and make it in total 10. This wont be change the reality of michael is a legend and greatest of all time.
I think these battles were the best, nothing can top them!!!
Now this is the one we’ve been waiting for
Dos leyendas.
Una esperemos recupere su calidad de vida y vea triunfar a su hijo.
Y fernando que siga en la f1 por siempre.
That 130r overtake was insane. Sadly Kimi stole the show that day😜
The race stole the show that day.
which race?
@@lucianistoc1264 Japan 2005. Maybe Kimis greatest race. He just beat it all that day!
My two favorite F1 legends 😭❤
Hardest thing to do in F1 is win in a Ferrari the pressure is enormous. Michael did an unprecedented 5 titles in a row
I'm glad all drivers went fully honest with Schumi. They acknowledged his biggest strengths just like they didn't forget his lowest points. The right balance to pay tribute to the strange animal who was Schumacher
You know he is a legendary f1 driver, when hes rivals have 6wc together when batteling with Shumi back to back and he have 7, he beated them in more times that they could beat him together
Titles aren't the only thing that defines racing driver. Senna doesn't have half of MSC titles and still most people rank him above Michael
@@mgecko2959 guess why, because he is dead and most of all respectively do that
@@4bimmer_com_bmw_tuning_parts guess what? It completely doesn't make any difference for me if he is dead or alive. Neither Schumi or Senna are my goat but still I have Ayrton above Michael on my personal list GOAT list. Its highly arguable who is the goat of F1 and every single opinion will be subjective one.
@@mgecko2959 thats actually false. No MOST people dont put senna above schumi at least site sources of your claims before u spew shit out of your mouth
@@AAA310 well maybe I am wrong but you didn't bring any kind of source stating MOST people put Schumi above Senna. That's just my personal view, from what I seen from comments, different goat lists of fans, some of the comments from people involved in F1. Simple example is Schumi is big hero of Vettel and Senna is big hero of Hamilton. Opinions are divided, if I had to guess I think Senna would win the vote for the GOAT of F1 if there was one. But again I might be wrong
This guy and Hakkinen. These are the best of his rivals. I had been waiting for their videos since the moment the "Schumacher's greatest rivals" series started. All three of them are absolute legends. Great videos by the way liberty. ❤️
I miss this day so bad, waking up at 6 am as a 10 year old, walking down the stairs and having breakfast with my dad while we both watch the race.
Literally the 2 greatest drivers of all time even above the likes of senna and prost, mansell whoever we can name
I recall when Alonso won F1 2006, he said that every champinship won with Michael fighting on the grid is more valuable than those without, and he is very happy to have won the *last two*
I think he should most importantly tell his 2006 self to watch out about his words 🤣
2 fantastic drivers. Thank you both for the close racing. These two drivers made the sport and have better racing stories than any of the current f1 drivers
watching this is insane. reminds me how flat the v6 turbo area nowadays is. all about saving tire and fuel. smh.
Yeah you are right about that but what i really despise about old eras of f1 is the stupid measures the took for safety like grooved tyres and idiotic chicanes that ruined the flow of many tracks
Funnily enough 2005 was the same. Less engines available to the team, so they had to take it easy some times, and a total ban on tire changes..
Alonso still had to do that before. In Monza, Alonso defended against Michael with reduced engine revs because of an issue found during quali.
That's why the lap times are better than they were back then but ok...... people just bitch and cry over the sound that's it, the speed is the same if not faster now so really it's all about a fucking sound to old F1 fans lmao.
It's a pity that only these two fight in one year and one race more (San Marino '05). This battle could mark a era.
Music is Bryce Jacob - Every Second Count.
Beautiful music :')
Thanks mate
alonso's words about schumacher's legacy is incredible. schumacher was bigger than ferrari and formula 1 when he was retiring.
Two best drivers of all times
That’s the first time I’ve seen alonso actually look happy in a long time
