To be clear: she's coming across terribly in most of these clips, but I will say, I think a lot of people are overreacting to the friendship bracelet thing. I don't really think it's weird that she didn't want to put it on with her couture gown while walking down the carpet, and at least she thanked them for it and complimented it. It probably would've been better if she had put it on then subtly slipped it off further down the press line, but overall, I think people getting mad at that is an example of people already disliking someone and looking for evidence to further their dislike.

I had a friend when I was younger who would throw out these insults, always personal, embarrassing and hurtful, immediately followed with "just kidding." But it was obvious it was purposeful. To be fair, she was making an important point when she joked about people just asking her for her location and home address. It’s was a weird question to ask a celebrity. No one should be going to celebrities with their problems, they should be going to professionals. The question really was encouraging parasocial connection for a topic that really shouldn’t be. The problem with Blake is that she’s a walking contradiction. One moment she’s chewing someone out for noticing she’s pregnant (often times she’s either showing by that point or has confirmed it in the media) or she’s making jokes about pregnant women faking cravings. Which admittedly, I don’t think is inherently a bad joke. The issue is her delivery and inconsistency in what she chooses to be pissed off about. As for her liquor line- it just proves-like her hair line, that she releases things just to follow a trend. A few years ago EVERY celebrity was creating a liquor line, not just rappers, but movie stars like George Clooney. Now every celebrity has their own hair care line from Tracy Ellis Ross, to Beyoncé and Rihanna. So of course she doesn’t use her products, she’s just hoping people will be dumb enough to buy cuz it’s all the rage right now.

To be clear: she's coming across terribly in most of these clips, but I will say, I think a lot of people are overreacting to the friendship bracelet thing. I don't really think it's weird that she didn't want to put it on with her couture gown while walking down the carpet, and at least she thanked them for it and complimented it. It probably would've been better if she had put it on then subtly slipped it off further down the press line, but overall, I think people getting mad at that is an example of people already disliking someone and looking for evidence to further their dislike.

I had a "friend" (close coworker) like that, who would purposely try to embarrass me in front of other people. And I would switch it up and call her out and smile just like she did. I had to separate myself at that point and realized why she had no friends. She was used to always being the little county fair princess, and I think she hated when anyone else got more attention than her. She was the star of her own show.

Second, many of the things pointed out… weren’t that terrible she just has no filter humor, BUT she does have some awareness and sensitivity issues and you can tell she was raised in a way where she wasn’t told no a lot. Her jokes are not appropriate, and treating people by clearly bullying them is not acceptable. I love how people are commenting that they need to be a strong interviewer. This isn’t a political interview. This is an interview about movies and celebrities so it should be somewhat lighthearted, and not sarcastic and evidently rude in your face. She shouldn’t do any more interviews.
The problem with Blake is that she’s a walking contradiction. One moment she’s chewing someone out for noticing she’s pregnant (often times she’s either showing by that point or has confirmed it in the media) or she’s making jokes about pregnant women faking cravings. Which admittedly, I don’t think is inherently a bad joke. The issue is her delivery and inconsistency in what she chooses to be pissed off about.
As for her liquor line- it just proves-like her hair line, that she releases things just to follow a trend. A few years ago EVERY celebrity was creating a liquor line, not just rappers, but movie stars like George Clooney. Now every celebrity has their own hair care line from Tracy Ellis Ross, to Beyoncé and Rihanna. So of course she doesn’t use her products, she’s just hoping people will be dumb enough to buy cuz it’s all the rage right now.
