What does he mean by "leveling" when he says "The attack and release knobs control the slower leveling stage of Pro-L" at 5:30 ? The manual refers to this stage as the "release" stage, not the leveling stage. Are those two terms interchangeable in this context?
@TranceElevation ehe :D A limiter is like an ultra fast compressor with maximum ratio. Its use is to raise the overall volume of a track by squashing peaks in the audio and bringing up the rms. You usually put it as the last process in your mastering chain but there are no rules.
I notice he says the oversampling modes are "phase-linear". It says this in the manual too. It makes me recall the "linear-phase" modes in Pro-Q. Is there actually a difference between phase-linear and linear-phase, does the order of the two words matter at all?

Seriously, I've tried everything to beat pro l with other limiters, like ozone 5,6,7 irc2, irc3 and irc4 ... i can always get 1 to 0.5 dB more out of Pro L before distortion. why, i realy, REALY love the ozone 7 Maximizer, but i cant make it beat my Pro L ... ffs ... well, its ok! lol

Also, my volume within FL Studio is at the reset level or at its natural standard volume level. I obviously do not want to distort the sound but 5 still seems too quiet. Thank you in advance.
your english seems good enough, just try listening closer, this sort of tech talk is difficult for a lot of people to understand (even native english speakers) so you need to listen to it a few times again and again, until everything becomes clear.
