what i see in terms of chasis, the new axia better than myvi 2017. 4 star maybe the safety electronics not on par with myvi or maybe the standard was altered for better.

This test result shows actual safety performance of this vehicle because basically the vehicles tested on NCAP are purchased from market not specally produce from manufacturers.Daihatsu's cheating is only related with development process. Actual car performance is as showed on this test.
They also should do test with big vehicle ramming from behind... Remember the news about Perodua Myvi getting crushed by a lorry? The driver survived but the car is gone, pancaked.. Myvi 5 star?
i remember.. there's 2 almost the same accident. Yellow Myvi Lagi Best ( 3star ) and White Myvi 2015 ( 4 star ).. both got crushed by lorry. lucky both driver survived..

They always test the lowest spec available, so you can assume the higher spec are more safe considering it has more safety features than the lowest spec

Ni lowest spec untuk Axia. Side crash test mana ada deploy airbag. Side airbag je yang deploy. Yang ada side airbag untuk Axia higher spec AV je. Untuk lowest spec dapat 4 bintang tu dah kira okay dah. Takkan nak 2 bintang pulak. Agak-agak siapa nak beli 😅😅

They use the lowest variant as that is probably the most “mesra rakyat” and will be the most variant on the road.
