Err, it has always been the same. The crash test uses the same NCAP regulations. The only things which are different would be the modifier and the way stars are scored. You see, everybody can design a car that can withstand a crash test but how many electronic safety devices will the car company provide you, that is a different sstory. Each NCAP (there are a few in the world) has different scoring system which gives weightage to certain safety issues related to the specific market. For Asean NCAP, part of the 5-star scoring points would be the Blind Spot Monitoring System because here in Asean, we have more motorcycles and it is adamant that drivers should know where the bikers are, hence the Blind Spot Monitoring System.

This also shows how important is proper rated child safety seat. Without those child safety seat, those dummy child would have broken every part of their body!!! And yet, I still see many Malaysians couldn't even be bothered to put their child in a proper child safety seat!
This is what I noticed on the road (those with child in their car):
Chinese - 3 out 10 without child safety seats
Malays - 7 out of 10 without child safety seats
Indians - 8 out of 10 without child safety seats
I am not trying to bring up the race here, but I am just merely stating the facts.
