  • Time to fix and finish this Dragon Models #6252 Initial release kit. I did build it into Tiger 111, the chassis no 2 in the first episode, here is the 2nd part dealing with fixes for historical accuracy, stencils, painting and weathering.
    All 3d printed parts are designed by myself, for new parts every month check out my Patreon:

    I have released a "TH-cam Package" of STL files used for this build, it will stay online for 30 days on Patreon before being moved to cults3d: cults3d.com/en/users/Tankbrus...

    Mike is the king imo. Very few people build to the level of realistic weathering that he achieves. His newer techniques are very helpful and he has really changed my perspective on weathering.

    Always find if you mix Tamiya buff with water and cover model with it, using large brush, it gives a great realistic dust finish. Can be done in minutes.

      @@Tankbrusher I'm just one of many folks who realize these designs and videos require time and a lot of trial and error with printing and testing files and supports. I am very happy to support you in this process, and besides, as one of your resellers it helps me by giving me great models to sell and allows me to focus on developing US and Soviet tracks.

      @@Tankbrusher how can I buy your 3d printed stuff? There's a lot of new companies / people doing this, but your Tiger rear fenders looked awesome (I really didn't enjoy attaching the PE parts to my current #132!)

      @@njmayhew I think Elefant Corp has them. If you are US based check out rogues_cove on eb, his Logo reads RS since I can't post a link here. You can contact him, he has access to all my files. If you own a printer, the files are on cults3d as Dragon Initial fixes and at this moment they are still on Patreon as a youtube package for the 111 build.

    Sehr interessante Prozedur, vor allem die Verschmutzungen mit den Pigmenten kommen sehr gut. Quick and dirty, das ist im Modellbau auch meine Methode. Mit zwei bis drei Schichten hat man schon genug Tiefe gewonnen und man kann am Ende die Arbeit noch erkennen.

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Rick. The plotter/cutter is very useful indeed. You will find a lot of uses for modern armour, yet you can get similar if not equal results by 3d printing the stencils. Will take some optimisation, keyword: Elefant foot, but I've done it successfully in an testing environment.

      Thanks Bruce. I'm already prepping the next adventure in that direction. Next roadwheel set looks already 200% better even with only half the time spend on them compared to the ones on the video. I strongly belive there is a good midground between speed and a good result by cutting bloat and cutting on overthinking.

    Rochm models has a PE set of historically accurate details for this particular tank.0.7 aluminium tube and 0.5 brass rod make for a neat barrel cleaning kit.Stencils look fantastic,always wondered why they don’t add a paper stencils for basic markings?

    • @Tankbrusher
      @Tankbrusher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I knew there aftermarket sets around, but couldn't be bothered hunting them down and ordering them since I end up using these parts on at least 6 tigers in the near future. 0.7 and 0.5 cross section is too small for cleaning rods, just short of 1mm seems better since we have the factory drawings of the holders and 3rd hand measurements of Bovingtons Tiger's rods. Looking forward take some myself soon.
      For stencils I was wondering too, yet I think we who want to use stencils are within the 1% range of the customers. In the wider range of modelers just enjoying thier kits, I've not seen many who would engage into this kind of deepplay unfortunatly. Nevertheless it'd be an interessting thing to ask on the next toy fair.

      @@Tankbrusher I mentioned Rochm models as they try quite hard to recreate individual vehicles commanded by aces.I have used a few of their sets and can attest to their quality compared to competition.I mentioned the Aluminium as an easy way to build a neat looking barrel cleaning set for a Pz.IV,panther,tiger if you don’t have a 3D printer.I say aluminium because it has thicker walls of tube.I have a ton of Albion alloys tubes and rods which I use,the measurements I gave were for a “neater” than plastic offering.If you like the “Big cats” rochm models site has enough for a cup of coffees worth of browsing.They have OK38 ostkompasses for turrets and new heater shroud for Tiger 1’s.Photography and PE work very good,and all the old dragon kits you can convert with thier PE to famous tanks from particular regiments.Lot of other little historically accurate oddities in 3D printed resin.Trying to copy turret of T35/85 from walk around by Steve Jones modelling,scary.Thanks for Vid again.

      @darronhedges5873 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also rochm has a design quirk of putting 0.2mm holes wherever bolts or rivets would be used to attach brass parts together.Easy to reinforce with stretched sprue or soldering.

      Vergleichabr mit anderen Nitrofarben aus Sprühdosen. Trockent schnell, legt sich sauber, haftet gut bis sehr gut. Kannst nicht mit Acrylics vergleichen, keine Sorge. Ob das nun unter "Lack" fällt, k.A. Chemie ist nicht meines. : /

      Hi, I can't exactly recall because I just grab what looks right : / Abt. 502 Industrial earth; Dust; Buff are 3 go-to colors of mine. On the enamel side: earth, dry light soil and Kursk soil are 3 of my favorits (Ammo by Mig). Thought process is to select or mix 3 color dark to light and space them evenly. Same for Pigments for example.
