Wow a real test that found some faults. Thank you. The testers that got it for free stated nothing about the lacking drag brake, kinda slow steering or needing heavier shock oil. I bought on yesterday. I have not tested other than making sure it worked. A friend of mine looked it. He spotted right away too thin shock oil. Tires are too stiff for where we crawl at.
Drag brake like most every rtr crawler can easily be adjusted with a program card. Shock oil is 30-40wt industry standard for every rtr crawler, regardless make. It would be impossible for axial to perfectly tune each individual vehicle for each and every person who purchases one for there specific geographic area and state. Everything mentioned is called tuning and that's up to the end user. Those aren't problems, and obviously axial not gonna install a 3 hundred dollar servo in a 5 hun dollar rtr 👍🏼
After running mine today i would agree with most opinions the the stock esc is lacking. I am not big on the new body pin setup. It worked pretty good on the rocks and had decent side hill and climb for a high CG. Rolled it a couple of times but i was expecting it to roll more. Looks so friggin good i can deal with its short comings.
Great looking rig! I thought I was totally burned out on Wranglers but this one looks fresh and beautiful. I also think interiors make a gigantic difference.
I for one had been waiting on your review on this one. Like you said at the beginning, and honest review. I received mine yesterday and the only gripe, its hard to put the body on. It is a gorgeous rig!! I was going to get it anyway but is always good to hear your take on it. Merry Christmas! keep up the good work.
Great video like always! That jeep looks incredible. man I wish I could afford this lol.. it’ll be a while before I can get more rc trucks… single dad life ..
I got mine two days ago and I disagree with you on drivetrain slop. I installed a Hobbywing QuicRun Fusion Pro and that makes the slop very apparent. The drag brake is very finicky engaging/disengaging. The two speed transmission requires a servo, completely removing the engine/transmission assembly, then disassembling/reassembling the transmission, then reinstalling the entire combo and setting end points for the shift shaft servo. WAY more work than I figured would be necessary. It does look so damn good though, and with Fusion Pro, the steering servo is fast and strong with higher voltage, and even single speed it's super crawly and also very punchy and fast.
@@TRKISH324 not many options out there for rollers. Maybe if your into crawlers but there isn't a basher roller out there. Hell ya can't even get a Ryft kit anymore
The switch is easy to relocate as it is just clipped to the side of the rx/esc. Even with a program card the drag brake sucks, I switch them to brushless as soon as I can.
I’ve got one of these fully stock, what should I do for my first upgrade? The only issue i really have is the shocks leak but all together a great jeep for my introduction into this hobby
A sweet thing indeed. Thanks Axial!Been eyeing this one for a while now. Would like to add a winch to the bumper. Which winch would fit? Reviews I watched so far gives it a 👍👍
...and it sucks if you don't have brushless with FOC like the $200 less Redcat Ascent fusion has. Not a glitch- but an $18 (retail price) motor in a $500 rig? When more and more competitors have better systems? It's worth a talking point in the video
Any idea on the shock weight for the rear, my red one is on the way. I can’t stand the all in one units. That is the first thing going. Putting a fusion in it.
Excellent review, as in all your videos! I'm new to this hobby, and maybe it's a silly question, but is there an optional kit or way to add differentials with remote locking?
I understand, it's a shame. Is there any chassis that is 4x4 with completely unlocked differentials? Both on the front and rear axle as well as a center differential? Thank you very much for your kindness, I really appreciate it.@@RCReviewChannel
Is there such a thing as something similar to a Summit, but not quite as easily flippable? Or Maybe an Axial Crawler that is fast enough to hit maybe 30mph but also has the ability to crawl through tall grass or deep woods etc?
Im confused did i hear you say ,that you have to take the body off and on in order to use the dig function ?? That doesnt even make sense? I use my dig and my 2 speed transmission in my axial Gladiator from the transmitter on the fly all the time ?
It looks nice but for the price of the vanquish with none all in one electronics and a radio that you only need to add a couple servos to hit 500 you have a far better Rx for the same price. I just feel like the vanquish products RTRs should force everybody else to lower their prices a little bit at the very least. Axial and rather buy a TRX4 or a vanquish RTR then the axial offerings with the prices they have
Very nice video. Thanks for show its performance. Are those shocks 90mm or longer. Was thinking of using the trx4 GTR 90mm on mine that I got today but have not pulled it out the box yet. Thanks happy holidays.
Maybe lower the shocks to the link location with a small spacer will help lower it a bit and get rid of body roll. Could help hill climb as well. Happy holidays from Sacramento.😬
RC ‘s are an interesting hobby like you I come form over 20 years of being a hard core mountain biker the thing that stands out is the RC companies but out new models but is nothing more then a new body with the same old chassis image cycling or any kind of motor sports where every year there is no actual performance improvements just new colors & body styles it would be a joke & not acceptable to keep charging more or even the the same amount. But we let it happen companies know that if they just give us something pretty we will buy it so it’s our bad. This is the same chassis as the Bronco 2 SCX just with a new body of course. And yes I’m the sucker because I’m sure I’ll get one why because I love the look so it has nothing to do with performance which is nuts🧐

Continuing to increase throttle until the vehicle clears an obstacle is exactly how actual vehicles work. That is a feature, not a bug.
