  • Wife wanted a planter, and I wanted to play with my 1mm CHT nozzle :) So I used this awesome model base found here: www.printables... and then I designed my own planter that would print good with vase mode and that big nozzle. Experimented with Fuzzy as well. Turned out pretty cool. Wife is happy, happy wife = happy happy me :)

    Somehow the 1mm Pot looks like its made out of Spaghetti, quite funny. I have to thank you for all the work you put into your VZbot Project, it inspired me to finally do something creative again so i converted my old Ender 5 to a 70% Vzbot. I had to sacrifice some build volume down to 225x225 but i dont care, the print speed is phenomenal aswell as the quality. i gathered a lot of knowledge while building, its still not finished but im really happy with the result so far. Thank you for making the whole VZbot Project open source i think its a great enrichment for 3D Printing enthusiasts and makers.

    Spends countless hours and money to build a precision speed machine... and then proceeds to turn fuzzy skin on. :D

      This isn't your average fuzzy skin. This is precision fuzzy skin.

    You should try the new scarf joints in Orcaslicer for the base. I use an overlap of 2.5mm, and it looks great and has a negligible impact on print time.

      I did.. and its not always been great for me yet. It works good ok 90 degree wall..but not super good on overhang

    Can you do a video of your printer running without any fans doing a movement like this? Your motors and hardware are so freaking quiet that I want to actually hear them. lol

    This looks pretty awesome! I'd love to see what 1mm nozzle and .7mm layers do to clear filaments! maybe it'll look like textured glass?

    I can only imagine the rate at which 1.75mm filament is consumed by a 1mm nozzle. I typically feed my 3D printer 2.85mm filament, squeezed through 0.40mm and 0.25mm nozzles. The polar opposite of this intriguing chunkier wicker basket-like resolution. A 1mm nozzle definitely has a niche for larger 3D prints. If my Ultimaker S3 is capable of accommodating a 1mm nozzle and such high flow rates, I'd give it a go just for the shit 'n' giggles. 😉👍

    Id love to try and review and build one of the 236 or 330. Never built a printer before, if youd ever consider sending one to a newer and smaller content creator 3d printer

    Ahh i see the fuzzy skin. I normally put it more aggresive to look like textured :p youd have to play with it a bit i guess to find a sweet spot but it looks awsome. First part of video looks real clean too

    So nice to see close ups! On the 1.0mm their were a lot of gaps. Can those be fixed via klipper config value changes or is there no real way to get around that at that thickness?

    • @Vez3D
      @Vez3D  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      you can try to fine too gap.. but its only a percentage of the nozzle. I dont think you can 100% get rid of those because of the big radius

    Dann that 1mm nozzle print looked so scribbly..
    What layer height did you use, or did you use fuzzy skin? Cause my 1mm nozzle prints look just as good as 0.4mm ones, so I can only guess this was on purpose?

    can you extend the bed to 336mm in width on the vzbot330?
    i have a part wich is exactly 336mm long and i want to print the whole bed with some copies of it at once.
    does the print head cover those extra 6mm in bed width if i extend the bed?

    How do the cht nozzles hold up with cf filament? I'm really afraid to use my original copper plated and switch to aliexpress hardened steel with copper inserts clones to print abrasives.

    • @riba2233
      @riba2233 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They make original bi-metal cht nozzles for abrasive filaments (they are great btw). Regular ones wouldn't last long.

    Hey Simon, what do you usually run your steppers at current wise? I have all 3 of my printers set at 2.25a and I've yet to have a skipped step even at really high speed and they don't seem to get super hot either. I was just curious what you run yours at for regular prints.
