    My oldest son is in his early 20's and he has type 1 diabetes. But thank God for this piece of article th-cam.com/users/postUgkxVYhghKWmrUgXARZ_ydZTvmmcrw5L0I5i At first he thought he had the flu and was lying down on the bed for three days until his sister took him to the hospital. They took his blood and it was 600. What I do not understand is how he could have gotten it, since no one in the family has it. But he is winning the battle now. This is good stuff.

    *My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

      Yes, you can.There are 2 types of diabetes. Type 1 where the pancreas does not produce insulin at all. It is the most frecuent type in children. Not saying she has it though. That is for her pediatrician to say. The other type is type 2 where after working normally the pancreas starts producing less insuline or the body starts to be inable to use that insuline.

    I can't say oats or brown rice work for me ... recently type 2 diabetes diagnosed. Use FreeStyle Libre to track sugar spikes. Anything starchy - even the supposedly healthy ones - has got me spiking. Everyone is different of course. But just saying I'm very wary of whole grains and oats. Do NOT recommend nor honey either.

      The host of the show says to use Canola oil. It is another name for rape seed oil and is very bad for you. Olive might be okay but many olive oil makers put other oils in them. TH-cam has a couple of good videos on what brands that do that. I find cold pressed coconut oil very good. Agree with the honey, I use stevia to sweeten my coffee with. Lots of people are Gluten Intolerant and don't even know it just like Diabetic.

      Don't stop just by this video..Go and watch videos of Dr KenDBerry, Dr Jung..Health coach Kait. Check out low carb, keto, carnivore diets,Intermitent fasting. Also a list of inflamatory foods(so you can avoid them) low glicemic index foods. Mind you everyone is different and reacts differently to food, so what is good for me could not be good for another person. The only way of doing this is by trial and error. Check your husband blood glucose levels 30 minutes,one hour and 2 hours after meals to see his reaction to food so you can see the blood sugar spikes and act acordingly. For me the enemy is bread, one slice and a half in the morning spiked my blood sugar from 55 to 356 ..I got back on track eating a very low carb diet, no rice, bread, pasta got me to 99-100 . I barely took meds. That was last year. Sadly I started eating carbs again and my levels went up

    I just wanted to talk about canola oil as it is really bad for your body. In fact, it's used as a bug spray for plants in your garden so I find myself using olive oil for everything. In addition, I can't do balsamic vinegar due to the sugar content and how it breaks down in my body. Apple Cider Vinegar though in dressings and other dishes is amazing provided I'm not drinking it in a glass of water bc if I do and it gets into my bloodstream too quickly it mixes with certain medications causing an interaction but I've only seen that when drinking it in water and not using it as an ingredient. Also, I can't have honey, sugar, or Dijon mustard as they all spike my blood sugar so I find myself making my own Dijon mustard of: yellow mustard and sweetener. So half & half.

Salad has just as much sugar as many ice creams!! You cannot give into your "sweet tooth" and control your diabetes! Once you completely give up your sugar you will no longer crave it. I use liquid stevia and make very tasty low carb "sweets" if I want them, not because I crave them. If you truly want to lower your A1C research the keto diet. I've been doing keto for over 6 years and I am no longer even considered diabetic. For soups with tomato juice, I use something like V-8 juice. No one notices the difference, but I think it may be healthier.

      V-8 has tons of sodium. I use the low-sodium V-8 for my homemade veggie soup. :-)

    • @carollizc
      @carollizc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Would you care to clarify that statement? It's easy to call something rubbish, but you need to tell people *why* it's rubbish. That way, we will all know what sort of advice to ignore from other sources as well. And if the information we receive from, say, our dietitians supports you, or the video, we can make more informed decisions about what we should, as diabetics, be putting into our bellies.
      For myself, I found that what she offered was pretty much the sort.of thing the dietician offered me. I like the idea of a Mediterranean diet, with it's emphasis on fresh vegetables, fruit and fish over the heavy meat and potatoes that so many of us grew up with. Combined with healthy exercise, it's not a bad way to live.

    Are you diabetic? I am and don't eat hardly anything you listed. I have completely reversed my diabetes and no longer take medications. I eat keto. If I ate the things you showed I would have never reversed my diabetes and I would still be on medication!! Anyone giving advise about diabetes needs to know how to eat as a diabetic, I am not trying to be mean, but, you do not know how to eat as a diabetic!!

    Canola oil is toxic. Its highly processed. I prefer EVO, avacado oil and coconut oil. I do like some complex carbs such as sweet potatoes, quinoa, and brown rice etc .. but it still carbs. Sugar is sugar in the body.
    I wish I could eat the things you mentioned. I must be really sensitive.

    I'm so confused why she is allowed to keep giving bad advice? It says she is a dietician but I would be terrified to be her patient. Encouraging a diabetic, who has likely been told to stay around 15 carbs for a snack and to balance with a protein, that two peanut butter cups are a "great snack"? No no no. Awful advice, definitely can't trust this channel.
