People talking about he's high and shit. The guy is on a stage playing for a crowd of thousands of screaming hot girls with a killer band behind him, is world famous, plays and sings his ass off and has millions in the bank... he's high on fucking life!!!
Any criticism of this concert is from people that didn't watch more than a few minutes. He's 100% in the pocket this entire show. Yeah, there's some nuanced parts where he takes liberties and he hits and misses, but overall he crushes this show. Absolutely nails it.
Lmao yea this prob my 2nd or 3rd time watching this full show it just has so much life to it you gotta keep in mind hes been on tour performing some of these songs for years now but yet he still knows how to kill it every night without going overboard

This is an all-timer love this one, always come back to watch this, edge of desire slaps, perfectly lonely is loaded, and the angsty heartbreak warfare, all in all just a great show. Glad to have it in full.
The vocals might have been off for this show, BUT his guitar skills are in the pocket. I feel like Jimi Hendrix entered his body on a few of those solos... UNBELIEVABLE! One of the most exciting things about John Mayer is you never know what you are going to get when he is performing live... 99% of the time, it ends up being better than the actual record!
Remember, he was dealing with a vocal issue. That might have contributed to the vocals being off at times. But this guy is a superstar rockstar. This show was great!
It's interesting. This show may not be as tight as his others, but at the same time, I sense he's more engaged with the audience and the fun aspect of playing live than he usually is. Not to say he's normally stale, but he seems more bent on proving his abilities. Here he's just rocking out, hard.
in his defense, it is the last show of a year long tour, I saw him like a week before this in Boston and he seemed tired, but a tired John Mayer is still better than nearly every live act out there
john mayer totally rocks.hes the only old school blues based ,proper guitarist touring live today, his guitar skills never end to amaze me,and his pop sensibilities, mixed with blues and country and passion,,saw him live in New Zealand 2 yrs ago,,just totally awesome
Zane leach Joe Bonamassa indeed. But, John is educating the masses of indoctrinated pop idiots on what real music, talent, and soul is. Since he is able to steer some people away from hip hop I consider him important. He crossed the divide bitch slapped mainstream pop and stole their fans.
ridiculous. personally, I think he’s the greatest artist of our generation. The type of way you talk about Zeppelin and The Stones is the way he should be talked about for our generation. yes, different genres than them of course but that’s not my point here. his rock guitar playing along with his blues and tasty jazz soloing is just ridiculously good.
Whatever he might or might not be on, if this is considered one his less than better performances, he is still without doubt, one of the few great ones. What an amazing musical soul.....
this show is grail status. unbelievable performance. The intro alone before ain’t no sunshine is just off the rails. jazz/rasta vibes right into a killer blues rendition. this man is just red hot at all times
My favorite thing in the world is watching people do what their the best at. This seems to b it for Mayer. Love love. Music that makes me Feel. AWESOME John Mayer.
i've been drunk as hell playing guitar, it's a real struggle. cognitive ability goes out the window. yet his guitar playing is flawless here? in time, in sync, in scale...
He's determined to change the vocal rhythm of all of these songs to make them sound unique while live. Sometimes, the way the song is supposed to be sang is the best way. i.e. Slow Dancing In A Burning Room

Just realised, this was a rare insight into half of my heart. Some of theese exstra lines were not improvised, but relics from the songwriting process that didn't make it to the final cut. Guess he was in the mood to share some extra feelings this evening.
I enjoyed it a lot. As a musician I can tell his voice was frying during this song but he muscled through. He had to have vocal surgery not long after this. Part of his singing style is very bad for the vocal chords. A lot of famous musicians have faced this. Plus everyone's voice changes in the late twenties or thirties anyways. The new album is gold and in his new range. His vocals are actually more pleasing to me on Sob Rock. I always struggled to like Mayer because of his voice.. but, I made the final jump into a Super Fan a couple years ago. And now he has a very smooth vocal album. The range might be as far but it's so damn on pitch
John mayer at this time was having problems with his throat. he is a good guy. we all have bad gigs but as far as this one goes he still nails it. for almost a two hour show he is doin good in my books.
Whether he's on something or not, I still think this was a great show. I was there & loved it. I think it's quite possible he may be inebriated, but you also have to consider that this was at the the end of a tour. He's exhausted mentally, physically, and vocally. Not that that's all of it, but certainly part of the equation. One other thing, I've seen several concerts at Red Rocks and every time the musicians have commented on the altitude making it harder to sing because they're out of breath.
If I remember correctly, he cancelled the rest of the shows after this one. This might be when his granuloma started. Oh well, it's a thing in the past now, those who still love him, let's look forward to the new music, those who are disgusted by him, please don't hate and turn to other artists you love. Let him live his life, no matter how wrong it's gonna be.
