Thanks for the observations ladies and gents, we take them all on board. This trip really was the shake down that we spoke about at the beginning. The weather and tide were seriously "wrong" from a wildfowling point of view but myself, Jonny and Sasha all learned a lot about a whole raft of technical stuff which we`ll put to good use next time. Jonny and his team will just get better and better and I`m very proud to have played a small part in this production!
What could have been a pleasant morning out spoilt by incessant noise pollution which is becoming increasingly more difficult to get away from in England nowadays . I'm old enough to remember peace in the countryside .Ah well that's my gripe for the day!.keep up the great diversity of content guy's.
Our mic setup did make it sound a lot worse than it actually did - but i can imagine sitting there in complete silence would have made the morning only more wonderful than it was
Ain't that just the best hunting day without firing a shot? Sitting around chatting about random stuff with mates/new friends/old friends and having a laugh and in nature always better! Love the video guys thanks John and Nick for this.
Thank you for the video. I duck hunt in California, USA, along the pacific flyway. It is interesting to see how the hunting cultures and practices differ from our shores. We go out to setup at similar times, but our setup differ. We usually set out plastic decoys and hide ourselves in vegetation or ground blind to keep from being spotted by migrating birds. Most duck hunters around my area shoot auto-loading or pump shotguns, side by sides and overunders are generally wheeled by more distinctive, gentlemen like upland bird hunters. Again, thank you for the video. Maybe next season you can do a. California duck hunting video.
When I was young, a long time ago, we lived in a town on the Susquehanna flats. Each year there were migratory flocks in the millions. It was a truly amazing sight.
Still get that here in canada. Last year I knocked down 227 ducks, and 109 geese. Goose pastrami, Brats and gumbo for a year. 94 greenwing teal, making it my best teal season ever, and ive been waterfowling since 14.
I particularly enjoy listening to Nick he is a fountain of knowledge on wildfowling which is the cream of shooting IMHO Well done to Johnny and the team this channel is a favorite at the minute.
I'm just curious now, to me, you would have stood a much better chance of getting birds to fly by if Johnny and you had sat on the back side of the sea wall with all the grass to break up your outline. My guess is that is not legal but I thought I would ask. BTW you gents can make watching paint dry interesting, thanks
While I agree with Cheryl to some extent, there are a few things to take away from this. This appears to be a new experience for Johnny and it's important to listen to the information that Nick is providing. Secondly, and I'm sure we've all heard this before 100x or more, it's called hunting because there is no guarantee. Johnny and Nick appeared to have a good time despite not having taken any birds. That should always be the main goal; getting out and appreciating nature and having a good time away from the rat race that for many of us our lives are becoming.
Appreciate the comment as always Dan, its only a shame that our mic seemed to pick up the motorway a mile away and not our voices as much as we liked. I am always enthralled by what nick has to say, and hope people learned as much as we did. We will be going out again, hopefully with some more appropriate technical gear! Still such a beautiful way to start the day
Looks like time very well spent just a bit of a shame the audio wasn’t all useable as I’m very keen to get in to wildfowling next season and I’m just to the west of Langstone so all the info would have been great. Looking forward to the next instalment and fingers crossed your mics will be sorted. Keep it up even if it is two hours of talking
Great video, its just a shame that the road noise made it hard to listen to the advice of Nick. Look forward to seeing your next wild fowling trip out.
With an over and under you can easily change cartridges depending on your quarry. Because if you are targeting Teal and Canada Goode suddenly appear you can quickly change to a heavier cartridge
Hey man yinz Really should get on the X and get some decoys. You generally need to scout them guys the night before and set up on exactly where they were.. Thy are so greedy they will b-line in thinking they were beat to the food.. Get the old Nike swosh of death Canada Goose set rolling and its a pretty attractive place for Canada's and ducks to get in to. Out here in NoDak we generally use Canada Goose, and some Spinner decoys because of how well they work for ducks and geese. I get it's an old vid but if ya need pointers hit me up.
you need a noise cancelling mic or something could not hear a word , and you really need some shooting in your shooting videos this was as bad as the boar hunt series :(

Thankyou again nick for having us out - next time we will be a little more prepared, but i cant guarantee we will pay any more attention to the sky!

Thanks Nick. Enjoyed thus plenty.

Lovely stuff, love Nick Horton I think he’s ace, always very insightful and just very enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work lads!

Great video good to see Nick using a traditional side by side I myself use a aya no3 magnum for my foreshore shooting

This channel is shaping up nice.

Best hangover cure :)
Hi is there a chance you could do a gun review on the yildiz SPZ ME game gun.
You should take a trip to the states for some waterfowl hunting!!!
One day hopefully!
Usually love the vids, but the fist 3/4 was just talking and talking and talking. LOVED ur italian series though
and to think - if the audio for the full 2 hours of talking had been usable - we were going to put it all in!
I’m just taking an interest in waterfowling, and am not sure if I want a over/under or an autoloader... any tips or recommendations?
Autoloader. Its not even a question if you’re going to do any amount of it.
With an over and under you can easily change cartridges depending on your quarry. Because if you are targeting Teal and Canada Goode suddenly appear you can quickly change to a heavier cartridge
Give your shell holding belt a good oiling. Take some rendered duck fat to it, it'll work wonders.
I honestly dragged it out of the shed after about 12 years of sleep - It has somehow survived about 7 house moves, so probably deserves a treatment

Guess that's the A27?
At least you aint got to clean your Barrels.
There is always a positive!
What do you think of yildiz
No decoys?
Good vid, get some mics tho, hard to hear you talk
We did, shortly after
Is that the M2 or the SBE2 ...
That is Nicks Benelli SBE 2 that he kindly lent to Jon

Hopeless optimistic filling of cartridge belt! Should have gone to Fenland!
All sorts of unpleasantness lol!
You're a jinx!
Starting to feel that way
so much fekkin road noise i doubt they could hear you unless you are an angry scania
The look 13:44 🤣😂🤣🤣😂
He knew we would get anything because we weren’t paying attention!
Fell a sleep it was that boring
Sorry to hear it... we disagree
