    This is a really clean job, even the logo lines up on the different pieces. I was going to be more lazy

    If the (rear) panel rattles, soundskin (deadner)...if exhaust noises bother you, closed cell foam/mass loaded vinyl. Cover the holes in the rear deck but then you are blocking air (pressure) travel to the trunk and the pressure release vents near the rear of the trunk.

    Did most of the rattles go away? I just pulled everything out and I’m waiting for my amazon delivery. Your video definitely helped out! 🙏

      Ian R yes that all went away except the third brake light was still rattling against glass, I saw somebody legit just stuff a micro fiber towel in there and it goes away. I tried that and it works lol eliminates the excess slack.

      @@AtlasWilder Did the same and even heard of a subaru tech doing that on a new car that a customer was complaining about the rattle, LOL

    2015 has that dampening under the rear deck lol, this is why i am here to learn how to remove it haha!

    Literally was getting ready to do this today. I have the Dynomat brand but it seams like they are similar products. Back deck rattle is atrocious

      Drone Adventures it’s really bad lol I can’t believe how bare these cars are almost like tins cans. I’m gonna be documenting a lot more soon Rear seats, trunk and doors soon! Hope this video helps a bit man get at it!

      I'd love to hear your opinion when you get more of the car covered. I was looking at doing this to the entire 2015 STI.

    As I will eventually be doing a lot of the same dampening solutions you've done, which by the way great freaking job! These cars being "tin cans" is kinda meant to be, they are rally inspired and weight reduction is sort of the goal :3 Granted they have gone quite a ways into the consumer satisfaction of adding some dampening here and there. These weren't meant to be luxury cars >_

      Thanks!! I get what you mean for sure, I’m coming to terms with this and accepting them for what they are “ Fun Daily’s.” Ideally I see myself in a RS3 kinda vehicle in the future I just need to stop trying to making the wrex exactly that! But hey theses creature comforts of a quiet interior is a huge plus with the soundskins and it definitely has made the highway a lot more tolerable.

      50lbs of sound deadener can go a long way in improving these cars from the get go. My WRX trunk has nothing in it except a tiny bit in the spare tire well. Nothing above the mufflers or any other horizontal surface in the trunk. Subaru relied on the trunk lining and a few small squares of (white) sound absorber. Again, additional sound deadener/absorber is appreciated if it improves the owner/driving experience.

    Hey man I’m getting ready to do the same thing. Did you happen to disconnect the battery before removing the pillar trim pieces? I really don’t want to as I don’t want my settings reset but if it’s a must I will. Also where did you get the trim removal kit?

    • @AtlasWilder
      @AtlasWilder  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      julio miranda got the trim kit on amazon, I didn’t disconnect but it would be wise to do so lol

      Baby Wrex so you were saying you can disconnect the air bag? After you take the trim off right?

    • @AtlasWilder
      @AtlasWilder  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      julio miranda if you’re worried about the air bags, disconnect the battery from the start 👌

    Overkill; u only needed to place material on the hollow areas. Doesn't hurt but just used more than u needed to.
