@@proudsaiyanprince2651 I disagree. An Abuser is fully conscious of what they're doing.
Konrad was having a schizophrenic episode. He wasn't even Konrad when it happened, he was Night Haunter. The man has split-personality disorder, and therefore, while he is a vile bastard, he's one with very little recognizable control of his actions.
Make no mistake, Konrad IS a monster, but a big part of his cruelty and his character is his inability to understand how much choice he has in the matter. He has an entire personality that overrides his mind and telling him the worst possible outcome is pre-destined.

Something about this makes me think of an aspect of the primarchs that I think some people forget, whether its for the "bad father emperor" memes or those who try to play down why Lorgar or Konrad would react the way they did with what they grew up with and what they experienced, right up to the burning of Monarchia and the destruction of Nostramo.
They're human, yes...but also far from human, almost to the point of being specialized hardwired supercomputers.
They're specifically programmed and designed with a purpose in mind, and that purpose drives them, and shapes how they respond to various factors. For Konrad, a being programmed to act as an agent of Justice like Konrad, getting dropped on a criminal cesspit like Nostramo was a worse-case scenario, since he had to build an idea of justice for this population from the ground up. For Lorgar, a being designed after loyalty and grandiloquent service to an idea once he'd imbibed it, there was little to be done after he'd either absorbed or constructed an ideal apart from the emperor's design, as was likely to happen on Colchis.
This is why I disagree with some who say other brothers would have acted the same way if they'd landed on different planets, and its also why I think its difficult to get too put out if some didn't react the way we would think is "reasonable." I have in mind someone thinking Lorgar was supposed to get the emperor's message about how its bad to make people kneel under the "Lorgar's Lament" video. They're not really programmed to think of this in the way a normal human might (and in Lorgar's case, he was assigned to make people kneel and forcibly accept a "truth," just not the one the Word Bearers were preaching). As such, I can see where they got frustrated, especially with the limited and sometimes contradictory information they had. In some ways, the Horus Heresy might be considered less a family tragedy, and more an apocalyptic version of Frankenstein in terms of making the primarchs as super powered not-quite-humans by a genius who may not have thought through just what he was creating, with a mix of runaway AI alle HAL from Space Odyssee.

A preview of more horror to come? That brothers will die and monsters replace them?
Or could this have happened because Dorn said Kane was overrated and Konrad is just being overdramatic?

@@giacomoromano8842 I believe he committed such a crime days after this talk. Perhaps the "eternal legacy" ate at him, and the revolting of the Nostraman population definitely didn't help 😅

Imo Konrads voice is too comically vampiric and in the books he's described as having and eastern European accent
