Low magazine capacity thats compensated by high damage, letting your enemies know that you landed every precious shot. Is the only SMG with a single-fire option, helping to aim long-range shots while conserving ammo to help your fellow soldiers.
In my books, the RSC could've been a great weapon if it was used in a different role than just as a PDW. If the French gave the RSC just a semiauto trigger group and added a stock, maybe a folding stock, it would've made a awesome semi auto carbine for shock troops. Short enough for tight trench fighting, faster firing than bolt action and way faster to reload than most standard weapons at the time, with three more shots available than most bolt action rifles as icing on the cake.
Perhaps even redesigning the magazine to allow it to jam less as well like you said longer barrel and a stock i think it'd be perfect however we might have just described a ribeyrolles

I enjoy this gun a lot, which is strange... It does get a TAD infuriating at times, losing a few fights due to reloading, but I still manage to have a great time with it about 90% of the time. So bad/strange, it's fun!
It'd be good. But realistically, it'd be a BAR with double ammo and horribly obstructive sights... Also! You need to remember what position DICE is in. That Bourtun LMR was auctioned. And not every rich auctioneer wants a bunch of other people touching a one-of-a-kind gun for a game. Nor might it be easy to have a weapon like that shipped back and forth to the company.
Annihilator would've been a bit problematic to balance I wager. As it uses .45 ACP, it would have 3 shot kill and pretty high rate of fire of around 700 RPM (and could be more). In short, it would kill faster than any other Assault SMG while still having a usable magazine size of 20. I am surprised still. Given that RSC was designed for tanker crews in real life, I expected Dice would give it to pilot/tanker in game too.
Give the gun with the least bullets the most recoil and the least recoil to the gun with the biggest mag(hellriegel) bravo dice, excelkent balance. I think i died like once to this gun since started playing.
Honestly, I love using the weapon in Bf1, mainly because of how goofy it is, and because it packs a massive punch. I just like bullying prone scouts okay, it's funny to bully oblivious snipers.
I tried this weapon today and it's really fun on team DM. Haven't tried it on other modes but im sure it wont perform very well against many enemies. Unless you're good with switching to your trusty revolver (or other sidearm for that matter). If it's 1v1 then its better than MP18. You gotta have a good aim with it tho. Reloading is a bit long, only 9 bullets is tricky but getting kills with it is very satisfying. I recommend using RSC with Obrez as sidearm.
There's two ways they could have balanced it imo. They could have put the 20 round chauchat magazine version in this game and kept everything else, or balance the 9 round version around a 2 shot kill up close with a slower fire rate. But DICE didn't do either of these and as it stands, it... Sucks. It really sucks. The way it's balanced now, you kinda have to magdump, which makes NO sense paired with a 9 round mag. The 20 round mag would be good for this and it would help this gun compete. If it had a slower fire rate but a 2 shot kill, perhaps with the same or a little more recoil, it could negate the pitiful magazine a bit and make it a very powerful weapon, like the Chauchat.

The gun may not be that good but its decent and yet in my opion I like it, I prefer a gun whith a challenge as in "spend it wisely" like try not to waste your whole magazine and "Make every shot count" like practising your aim. I even did a Hitman/Assassin loadout Primary: RSC smg (either Factory or Optical) Sidearm: Obrez Pistol Gadgets: 1. AT Grenade 2. Dynamite Melee: I recommend the Bedouin Dagger
The Ultimate skill cannon for the Assault class. Unparrelled in its damage and CQC potential, if you can tame the recoil and keep it to 1v1, or the odd 1v2. For best results, use the Factory, as an optic on this weapon is useless. And, run it with the MLE 1903 sidearm. Has the fastest drawtimes of all secondaries, helps massively with finishing off victims who lived past your 9 rounds. And KEEP that mag topped up at all times 1-2 rounds less is a big difference on this one. I find this gun is best for guarding doorways, on patrol, or very aggressive 1v1s like clearing out a camper or a stubborn Support or Scout.
They need to do something about the damage, if the obrez is able to kill in one shot being a rifle without a barrel and the RSC1917 kills in two using the same bullet, the RSC SMG should be able to kill in two shots too even if at 10m it becomes a 3 shot kill.
I want that 20 bullet clip on this gun NOW. If they make updates for this game, they should make the next variant of this weapon to have the 20 bullet magazine.

Good looking weapon, decent kill time when close range, but absolutely abysmal reload time. Not a bad weapon, but not good either, pretty mediocre. I still love it though cuz its so damn handsome.
It DOES something amazing: for its low rof it’s horizontal recoil (uncontrollable) is pretty low, at 0,4. The automatico has the same horizontal recoil but double the rpm, meaning its effectively half of the automatico’s recoil to the sides. This gives it a pretty edge on any assault gun not-called-Ribeyrolles at range, and it’s not that bad when compared to the Ribeyrolles either. It’s a skillcanon: if you’re good, the gun is excellent, if you’re bad-normal, the gun is shit (unlike most assault weapons, this one has room for improvement and great potential, a Hellrigel in the hands of a pro is slightly better than in the hands of a noob, a rscsmg in the hands of a pro is much better than a Hellrigel for him, while the Hellrigel is decent for bad players and ok for the good ones)

It can happen. .. If you hit all 9 hits without missing, pulling the trigger/ pressing the mouse button for a bit too long, if you just reloaded, not shooting at a battle pickup/ cavalry user, and are withing range. Other than that, it can happen. It takes skill to use and that skill definitely wouldn't be outmatched by equal skill with a better gun.
I kind of wonder if it hurt or was uncomfortable to shoot this gun in real life. I hear using rifle rounds in something small like a pistol or in some small carbines rifles can be unpleasant. It's why they sometimes shrink the bullets.
I mean the Howell to me fits in perfectly to the apocalypse dlc it's a strange looking weapon of course their were several others but I still think it's good. The RSC SMG honestly could be forgiven if it was a tanker class weapon, it even says it was supposed to be used by tankers and it would be the best tanker weapon and would be the most used by tankers as they could honestly use it as a semi auto but no dice put this... gun... in the game
Hi Kris, firstly great content and I am obvisouly a fan of the channel. I do have a question that I am wondering if anyone else has perhaps already asked, but can you do a video with regards to how to control recoil. There are plenty of videos for PC but very few for console and the reason I ask is that you seem to have a good handle on this even with this guns crazy recoil. Not sure if anyone else would benefit but I know I certainly will. Anyway keep the awesome content coming.
A lot of the time it's just about knowing how a certain weapon kicks, and whether or not you should tap/burst fire in specific scenarios, plus it's often best to wait for your sights to reset back to their original position before opening fire again. The RSC SMG is usually best burst fired for longer ranges battles, though I'd advise playing around with your settings (maybe lowering the deadzone)
if it was moved to the tanker class, then no one knows it's existence, as most people who chose pilot tanker don't exit the tank or plane, thus the pilot tanker weapons arent used, and if pilot tanker weapons become cross class, then it won't matter if the rsc SMG should go to pilot tanker, as it will come back to the assault class

This gun is infuriatingly terrible. Honestly who at DICE looked at BF1 and was like "Hey, you know what the assault class needs? A really shitty DMR that kicks like a horse, a tiny clip, and a ridiculously long reload time." I unlocked it and haven't used it since...
It’s kinda of a shame, it looks pretty cool. And I actually used it in a bf1 match (idk why) but it was pretty good Did a lot of damage, only 3-4 shots to pin down an enemy [In my opinion]

Its actually a great weapon, just put it on Singlefire and use it like the medics 0.25 Extended.

So much fun using this gun. It has the third most kills of any primaries for me, only surpasses by the MG 08/18 Low Weight and Martini Henry Infantry

I would've love this weapon more if it had atleast 15 bullets
It's the KING of 1v1. And if you have some skill, 1v2. Outside of that you're better off with like the mp18.

If you hit all 9 hits without missing, pulling the trigger/ pressing the mouse button for a bit too long, if you just reloaded, not shooting at a battle pickup/ cavalry user, and are withing range. Other than that, it can happen. It takes skill to use and that skill definitely wouldn't be outmatched by equal skill with a better gun.

This gun is actually pretty fun to use.
The gun really isnt bad if you can hit and run well. Take a fast loading pistol and you can improve survivability wgen you hit action between reloads
Not firing pistol rounds but rifle rounds makes it basically assault rifle. Much like AK47

I can't really explain why, but I like this gun.
Assaut RSC SMG should have the 20 round mag and give this one with 9 rounds to Tanker/Pilot classes. That would be a nice change.

Imo needs slightly larger mag size. You get like 2 fucking rounds and insane recoil to go with it. 12-15 rounds would be great.
I kind of wonder if it hurt or was uncomfortable to shoot this gun in real life. I hear using rifle rounds in something small like a pistol or in some small carbines rifles can be unpleasant. It's why they sometimes shrink the bullets.
I mean the Howell to me fits in perfectly to the apocalypse dlc it's a strange looking weapon of course their were several others but I still think it's good. The RSC SMG honestly could be forgiven if it was a tanker class weapon, it even says it was supposed to be used by tankers and it would be the best tanker weapon and would be the most used by tankers as they could honestly use it as a semi auto but no dice put this... gun... in the game

Hi Kris, firstly great content and I am obvisouly a fan of the channel. I do have a question that I am wondering if anyone else has perhaps already asked, but can you do a video with regards to how to control recoil. There are plenty of videos for PC but very few for console and the reason I ask is that you seem to have a good handle on this even with this guns crazy recoil. Not sure if anyone else would benefit but I know I certainly will. Anyway keep the awesome content coming.
A lot of the time it's just about knowing how a certain weapon kicks, and whether or not you should tap/burst fire in specific scenarios, plus it's often best to wait for your sights to reset back to their original position before opening fire again. The RSC SMG is usually best burst fired for longer ranges battles, though I'd advise playing around with your settings (maybe lowering the deadzone)

if it was moved to the tanker class, then no one knows it's existence, as most people who chose pilot tanker don't exit the tank or plane, thus the pilot tanker weapons arent used, and if pilot tanker weapons become cross class, then it won't matter if the rsc SMG should go to pilot tanker, as it will come back to the assault class
Like some/many, I was disappointed that the Burton LMR (Light Machine Rifle) 1917 wasn't added into this DLC.
I was hoping this gun would have better stats tbh, shame really cos it looks so cool, it's still better than the maschinenpistole though imo

This gun has gotten lots of hate, I'm pretty sure it's intresting stats combined with the fact people were expecting a Thompson prototype give it the hate, I like this SMG, I've counter sniped with it in semi auto and hipfire auto up close

This gun is infuriatingly terrible. Honestly who at DICE looked at BF1 and was like "Hey, you know what the assault class needs? A really shitty DMR that kicks like a horse, a tiny clip, and a ridiculously long reload time." I unlocked it and haven't used it since...
