Man im struggling so much . He always poop outside in the balcony at the area i told him to but he pee inside idk how to fix this . I tried treats, love, toys anything never works he keeps peeing inside when im not watching him . He never does it with poop tho he always poop outside . Idk what i made to make him poop outside but pee inside. Pls any help would be great . He is 2 months old and i cant get him out of housw becouse he havnt finish full cycle of vaccines. I live in appartment.
Shadow Master maybe you’ve figured it out already but if not regulate the time you give him water or keep him in a small area as said in the video. Look for the signs when he wants to pee, as fast as you see it take him outside to the balcony then give him a treat (or whatever he likes). If it is that he walks away from you then that’s probably a sign, maybe keep him close to you, in the same room or on a leash so that you can keep a better eye on him. Oh and also, make sure you really clean of all the areas where the dog pees inside, otherwise he will go there again (there are sprays for this) Have you managed to solve the problem now? :)
I have a 7 week old Doberman she cry’s soo much cuz can’t sleep on my bed that eventually I go on floor and let her out to sleep by me, she doesn’t pee or poop on me during the night, should I let her cry from her crate? I stop food and water one hour before bedtime. Now the restroom situation I work from 7am-330pm I can’t just let her be outside in front yard. I have no one to watch her or help while I’m at work, she owes on pads n poops on them but tends to miss half the time and moves her poop across the room I leave her in, I also have a camera to watch her while I’m at work and I can see her crying have separation anxiety. Once I get home I spend the rest of my day with her but again I can’t let her roam the entire house because she’ll have accidents all the time, I stop her middle of her trying to pee and take her where I want her to pee at, but she still won’t go and prefers to pee anywhere. It’s been really cold lately and only has first sets of shots and I can’t take her out front because so many stray cats love to poop on the front yard.
Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
When I potty trained my last dobie I always rang a little bell, then said lets go potty as I took him outside. After a few weeks I hung the bell about his head level near the door. He would go ring the bell when ever he needed to go out. On a side note as he got a little older, he also figured out that he could go out when ever and as often as he liked as long as he rang the bell.
I did this with my first dobe. It was great until she also discover she could ring the bell to go outside to play. Visiting friends and family with my doberman around Christmas was always fun because she'd always find the Christmas Bell decorations. 😆
Also you never want to react negatively if you dog is having an accident in the house. You risk making the dog think it's not ok to do it's business in front of you. People making this mistake wind up with a dog that won't go on the leash but then look for a secluded spot in the house.
That's a great point! I didn't include it here because I feel it's (almost) common knowledge now. But unfortunately you're right that there are still lots of people who punish for accidents in the house. So I really appreciate you posting this to remind people!
Doberman Planet yeah, but I have seen information saying to practically shun your pup for going inside. I never have done so, but many new people may. Another thing is, if you do capture your puppy having an accident, pick them up and try to get them to stop (worked for my pup anyway) then carry them outside to their potty spot, and praise them when they go in the right spot. I believe this is a great way of showing them where to go, and it doesn’t make them scared of going in front of people. I was also blessed with a very strong bladdered pup, I can only think of 10 select accidents. The trick is to not get mad.
Lol. Months? I've potty trained 12 dogs. ALL of them had it down in a month. The bigger ones took a week. Admittedly, the chihuahua mixes required supervision for several months but NONE of them were making messes in the house. God forbid. Supervision and prevention are key. Older dogs may need a leash on your belt. But very mild correction for young puppies and a firm NO! are ok for older ones.
We're training our 10 week doberman and we really appreciate your videos. Thank you :) The whining in the crate was almost unbearable but only after a few days, he stopped! Now he doesn't whine when we put him in the crate which is so amazing. Night and day.
Unsolicited advice: You give some of the best general dog advice I’ve seen on the tube. Calling your channel “Doberman Planet” might limit your potential audience. I saw your channel by mistake but since the first time I have came back for more help for my non Doberman pup. Excellent pet dog guidance.
I think it's great that he focuses specifically on the Doberman breed. They are a very intelligent breed but do require a special touch so for those of us who have the breed this is the only place to come for help.
Just brought my 11 wk old home on Sunday...went to work today (Tuesday )and he jumped over the play pen and was free roming for 6 hrs ...WITH MY CAT...the pen was blocking the bedroom door and attached to an open crate....food, toys, and yes puppy pee pads...I was pretty nervous all day to say the least...I have a video monitor and everytime it pinged a movement he was just walking through the living room sniffing stuff...turned out he didn't go pee or poop anywhere inside. 😅 And my cat is still alive... so thankful for ur videos!!
John that is one good looking dobie. I have had dobermans for 30 years and not one time have any of my dogs gone in the house. Dobermans don’t want to soil the area that they live in. I always had the 2 hr. Rule, every 2 hours take them out. Your info. Is really good but new owners that pay close attention to their pups shouldn’t have a problem potty training. Again that pup is gorgeous!!!
I rescued my dobie at 8 months, shes 14 months old now, shes slept on my bed every night since I've had her, but only gets separation anxiety if I dont comfort her before I leave and leave my top I wore the night before for her to sleep on even if she wont be alone, they love us so much.
My boy was a rescue. He'd lived his first 2 years outside before me. He hiked his leg in the living room ONE time. I yelled, "What are you DOING?" he was like, "Not in here?" and NEVER peed/pooped in the house again. They're such smart dogs.
Just rescued 2 dobby brothers - 13 weeks old - potty training has been going great - 4 days and they are going outside by themselves - accidents are getting are fewer and fewer - thank you for the tips :)
Great video John. Been a fan of yours since the beginning. Getting a pup this Christmas after being without one for 4 years. It is so nice to review these videos, have not had a pup for 19 years and have forgotten most of this info. Thanks Again!!!!!!!!
I have a Bouvier and a Standard Poodle but I still find your videos so enjoyable to watch. Every single time I take a "what's the best breed for you" test, the result is always, Doberman!
He's doing very good with the potty training! He really is growing fast. I always just watched for their signals and ran them outside and put them in the same area every time. After awhile, the dog would stay by the door waiting to go out. Never really had trouble potty training any dog I've owned. Good I was lucky. I had a friend who always played with her dog when she first put him outside. He never got potty trained. Just knew outside was to play only.
Picking up our 8 week old pup today super excited, a little part of me feels like I'm betraying my girl i lost year. Nothing like hard work and a new pup to focus your mind.
If you didn't love your girl so much, and she didn't give you such amazing memories of what having a dog is like, you wouldn't be so excited for another puppy. I hope you're having all sorts of fun challenges with your new pup.
just adopted a 13 week old American Doberman, so this info is super super helpful! he came from a terrible, neglectful home, so potty training is going a little rough, but this video has made me feel so much better! we have been watching your videos religiously, thank you :)
I so appreciate the toolbox of everything. We have had 4 Dobermans now in August getting a 5th puppy. We are from Hawaii now in Florida . Drove our fur babies all across The USA . It took us 4 months bc of course we stopped alot for our fur babies. Lol they are our lives right.
i did the method recommended by EE (unknowlingly! lol). Our little dobie was terrified of going outside, understandably since we live in the city and there were way too many distractions for her. I recommend taking your dog out AS SOON AS they wake up in the morning (a) helps with training, and (b) way less distractions. Literally within a minute of when they wake up, you should be out the door or they will run to the wee pad. I carried my dobie (from her bed to the spot outside to avoid any accidents) to the same exact spot every time we went out (once she woke up, after every meal and nap), and did not budge from that spot. If she wandered too far, i would carry her back. eventually she couldn't hold it anymore and just went. I praised her like she found the cure for cancer! so don't worry if you dont have a yard, the method works as long as you stay consistent and regimented.
Failed trips outdoors. Yes! I'm doing those with my now 2.5 month old Dobie. Sometimes I see him looking around, and I'm not quite sure, but better safe than sorry. Now I need to work on him going in a certain area instead of all over the dog run. Love your videos. Very helpful.
2 year old video , but looking for more insight John very appreciative ! Just got my 9 week year old Doberman yesterday and his accidents are happening but staying calm and not condemning him to hell for doing it just cleaning up the poop put it on the pad and continue bonding with him. Trying to replicate the success I had with my other dog. Uses the pee pad inside when we can’t take her outside but knows outside is potty time too
Hello John ! Oh this is great 👍🏻 thank you for sharing ps before I knew of your channel I was like everyone else, had a bad opinion of Doberman’s but you channel changed my mindset totally so just letting you know your channels are brilliant too. Thank you again 🥰👍🏻
Thanks so much Lina, I really appreciate your loyal support with my videos. It always means so much to me. Love seeing your comments. Glad the Dobie is growing on you! :-)
Gotta say this was helpful. Mama just had 7 babies 3 months ago. It really works. Ty for vids.always get them in crate with tiny treats. But sometimes handful of dog food. The crate is the size of truck bed but, iIt's getting smaller every day. Man they grow fast 30 and 35. llbs.. They no longer poo in cage.
Beautiful pup and his ears look great too!. I have a new pup and in 50 years of owning Dobes I've never used a crate. I always thought Dobes hated crates because they couldn't protect you if needed? The only problem I've encountered with new one is chewing on the sofa. I'm subscribed to your channel so I'm going to do a search on how to discourage chewing.
Great tips. I had great success with my Doberman because of helpful people like you. I did a lot of research. One tip I learned and you kind of touched on it, was using a marker word. First off when he is really young and just starting out take him out every hour. When he does go to the bathroom use a marker word, mine was "go potty". Every time he goes just say the word or phrase and when he is done praise him. This worked great for my dog and now he goes on command.
We did exactly as stated in last item and it worked! We have a pool and I didn’t want pee or poo on the pool deck. We have a grassy area on the far end of the pool and that is where he goes. Interesting he uses one side for pee and goes to the opposite side to poo. This works perfectly for our yard.
I’m watching this video since we JUST got a 3 month old European doby and he was in bed with us as soon as u mentioned that part I ran to grab his crate from the living room and set him up in my bedroom on the floor. I need potty training tips!
Im so glad you brought up the "learn your dog's favorite reward" so few professionals use this method and I dont understand why. it can help in so many areas of dog training. And as you kinda mentioned, you can train your pup to go on certain surfaces. That what most service dog academies do.
Yes on the service dog aspect! I have trained many service dogs for CCI and one thing they teach you is to get a young puppy used to pottying on all surfaces. Even in every-day pet life this can be super useful. You won't always have plush green grass when you need your dog to go to the bathroom! a parking lot may have to do.
Thanks John, great video as always. I have a 7 month old European boy, your definitely on the money with your info and great to see you both doing so well. 👍👍👍
Ok im about to go pickup my puppy doberman today and I can't thank you enough I watch your videos until 1 am not it 8am driving off to pick him up 3hour ride oh boy here we go !!!!
This is amazing advice! I love Doberman planet! Ii have just started watching your videos and I am so amazed! I am a new Doberman owner, as I've had Rotts and German Shepherds before, but this is my first time having Dobermans... so I am really intrigued and still learning about how to properly train and handle Dobermans. :] This advice is so very helpful and some of the potty training techniques I wouldn't even have thought of. I have two Dobermans, an adult rescue female and a male puppy. The puppy has a huge problem urinating in the house in particular, he's three months old, but he still pees constantly in the house and I really am having trouble potty training him with peeing outside. Does anybody in the comments have any advice that they can give me also? I really am enjoying the channel and am definitely going to try and do these potty training tips, hopefully they help! :] Thank you Doberman Planet for all the advice for this beautiful breed! :]
Not too hard with a Doberman John. About the bed sleeping. At my age its me getting up for a wee, not the dog.🤣 1: take them out when they wake up 2: take them out once they have eaten 3: take them out when they start sniffing around 4: never show disappointment if an accident happens, just clean it up but always show appreciation when he goes outside. OTT really Only takes a couple of weeks and has never failed for me. Keep up the good work! Oh and bin those puppy pads. They teach very poor habits and confuses the hell out of the dog.
Im sure there are other training methods out there that work great, but this is exactly our method as well that we have used for many years and you are so spot on with all your advice. :) Fantastic video!
We just “had” our 3rd Dobe baby, and he’s a BABY 8weeks old, our brilliant and beautiful Kane. Despite previous experience& training we’ve learned SO MUCH from you and your videos. Thank you SO MUCH.
Your advice are super! I have owned two Dobermans till now and next month I am going to welcome a new puppy in the house. Though I have trained already dobs, I am listening to your super videos, as if it was my first time. You are very direct and simple, just marvelous! Keep up the good job. ❤️
I like the two hour rule, after feeding, playing and napping. Walk your puppy often, it stimulates marking and their internal organs. Lots of short walks as early as possible. I use a martingale collar on their lead and only put it on when they are going outside. This is another stimulus. I live in a pretty cold climate in the winter and I find the quick command really useful. I also find keeping a coat on hand is really a great signal that it is going to be one of those times a quickie is going to be necessary. I have a smooth standard dachshund and the coat isn’t necessary until -23C. I use praise after and I use encouraging words for the quick pee or quick poop before. I use a food reward after they have done their business. I learned the hard way, to wait a full year before spaying. They need to have enough estrogen to properly close their sphincter muscles. This really reduces UTI’s and submissive urination.
@@chrispy10939 Definitely wait for the organs to fully develop. It takes about a year to 2 years for a female to be considered mature. My vet wont spay until 14 months old
MrYodi2007 thank you for your comment and useful information! May I ask if you kept on using the pad outside or left it out some time later? Regards from Germany
@@poughkeepsie8516 Sorry for the late reply, Im a Nurse that works 12 hour shifts! I put a new Pad outside after the first few times (3-4 I think) the first day and removed it! I did this with my Siberian Husky and My Rottweiler. My Chow/German Sheppard mix didn't even have to be trained since he was a an outside dog and new the outside was a place to poop and pee. Make sure to take them to a spot of the yard for them to potty and reward good behavior! Also get a trashcan and doggy popper scopper! Bag the poop up and place in the city trash or give to a farmer who uses poop to fertilized their fields/garden! All my dogs are inside dogs and are never left alone. Leave a Siberian Husky alone and he gets bored, you'll find out why they are some of the best Escape Artists around, as they love to dig large holes outside!
@@poughkeepsie8516 It is at times especially now! Panic amongst family members more than patients who are sick. We have an Isolation floor that is quarantined off and only Registered Nurses, MD's , and specialists are allowed on the floor. 1 Nurse is infected, a Respiratory Therapist, and a MD are quarantined home with no symptoms. We have 5 other confirmed cases in the area and one had to be Life Flighted to Shands Medical center due to preceding factors before exposure and diagnoses.
MrYodi2007 News are getting worse and worse. I am thankful for all those like you trying hard to keep our life going. Keep safe, keep calm, carry on fighting! Also these days will be over...
This may sound silly but have you ever heard of a Doberman using an actual toilet? I’ve seen cats do it but since dobes often seem to be less inclined to go out in rain could you train them to go in a toilet? We are scheduled to get our pup in about a month. I have been watching your videos for months to prepare (my husband has had dobermans but I’ve never had a dog so I’m a bit anxious) and they are fantastic! Thank you for all the time invested to share your wisdom and experience and save us all (pups included) some grief.
Thank you, I just adopted this little guy yesterday and I wasn’t sure what breed he was until I started watching your videos. But he has certain behaviors, and your tips are helping already. Thank you. Subscribed.
We’re adopting a Doberman puppy in February. Our other family dog had to be put down in July. Oh, how my heart still aches. Just the thought of a puppy makes me cry. How do we get over our beloved pet’s early demise?
I took my dog everyday at the same time outside in the wild and praised him when he did his business. Never had any problems minus few accidents 10 at most!
I also came up with that idea with my first dog back in '79. I would walk him to the back corner of the yard to go potty, and from there my mom never had a problem with my dog.
my grandma raised dachshunds & she would wrap a ticking clock in a a towel & the pup would sleep with that. it was similar to a heart beat noise. she said it worked to keep the whining down.
I have a 8 week old Doberman and I used a Smart pet love snuggle puppy bear ordered it off Amazon and she loves it only really time that she cries is to go to the bathroom but other than that she snuggles with it and it also has a heat beat stuff toy in it....It’s for new puppy anxiety
Hi just adopted a senior Lab/boxer mix female. I started her with a trainer with my last dogs I sort of got bullied into walking them for their elimination. But that meant he tromping through rain, ice, snow, etc. and while it works it's dangerous for me as a senior citizen as I now live up north.. So my attempt tonight was unsuccessfulexcept for urinating, but I am encouraged by your video and how specific youare. I wonder if the dog doesn't go to the bathroom first time, how often do you try and how far apart are the visits outside ? also how long do you wait after a meal before you take the dog out? I am not a dobderman owner but I found this to have good advice for all dogs.
Awesome video! I made so many mistakes the 1st time around! Sure wish I had this video 11 years ago! Biggest mistake I made was having him sleep in the bed with me. I definitely won't be doing that with my next puppy! Created so much separation anxiety. He would go absolutely crazy when I left him.
Thank you! I think I can use these helpful suggestions with my Rotti Pup too.. I hope! I'll be getting my pup tomorrow.. will be looking out for some training vids and food suggestions! Cheers!
Looking to get a dobie after raising champion hunt golden retrievers ..both my Golden’s would go to the bathroom on the edge of my yard in the woods by just scooping their poop and putting it where I wanted them to go . It didn’t take long and never any bombs in my acre and a half yard
We've got a Doberman puppy just a week bk who is now barely 7wk old. Hv already made the mistakes of letting him roam the entire house, not putting him in a crate, giving in to his whining..but will definitely try your advice. Any specific pointers for 1st-time dog/Doberman parents like us who live in high-rise apartments and cannot take the dog to a yard/lawn for pee-poop? Cd really do with some tips.
Love the video! Arlo is getting so big 🐾💜💛💚 Please make a video with you re-posting his ears. We would all love to see you do this hands on with Arlo. Please and thank you
Hi. Great video. I’m on week 2 with my very first Doberman and it’s going great. I’ve owned labs before ( still have one now) and their potty training has always been relatively easy for me. My dobie is doing great in the house (only 2 accidents of pee) which were my fault. The crate however is baffling me. I’ve done everything from making it so small he could only sit in and turnaround and that still doesn’t help. He won’t poop but he will be. He doesn’t bark or whine to let me know anything so it’s tough. I wake up and take him out at 130 and then again at 430 but I’m between he will pee. If i take him out right before I leave and am back in 2 hours, he will pee. And he will be curled up right on top of it. Hellllllp lol
Thanks! Great info. A favor please....can you do a video about the ear posting you are doing? Yours look much more comfortable than others I have seen. Thanks!
i been watching your videos for a week now im planning to get a doberman my only concern is i work 8 9 hours a day he wont be alone but i dont want him to get to anxious
i’m glad i already knew these things! though i’ve never used pee pads with with any animals except i used them under water bowls for ferrets cuz they liked tip the bowls. thankfully, my gsd came to us potty trained. she seemed to know to cry at the door when she had to potty. i was surprised and relieved
Here's my advice if you can get two puppies at once it's a lot easier - I got two doberman/rottweiler mixes - one looked more like a rottweiler and the other a doberman - when you put them in the crate they never cry because they have a buddy next to them. And as far as limiting their roaming around the house I learned this on the second day - they both went into a back bedroom and did a number 2 - never again was that door left open. From that time forward I was always with them in the living room if they were out of their crate and once they got housebroken took about 8 1/2 weeks after I got them, I got rid of the crate (took up too much room) and my bedroom then became their crate. After those 1st 9 weeks they never did their business in the house again because they considered the whole house their crate. The only downside was I got a 14 foot by 10 foot outside dog pen built so they'd do their business in one spot and I wouldn't have to go all around the property looking for number 2's to pick up. Unfortunately, I crate trained them so well they considered that outside dog pen a crate and never went to the bathroom in it. So I had to go around and pick it up anyway.
Omg do I remember the cries . Drives me crazy. Lol. I got a min pin for my high school daughter and told her it was her responsibility even at night. Now of course I heard everything and she came to me for help then I heard her crying so I stepped in and moved kennel to my room . But yes these dogs will learn and does help a lot later on.
We have a wonderful 6 year old German min pin and are working on purchasing a new Doberman (full size) pup from a top notch breeder here in FL. As we go through the raining process, what are some things we can do so the older child doesn’t become too jealous of the new baby coming to the house?
I trained my boy to urinate or poop when I asked him to. My little Spoodle does it now too. I started by just naming what they were doing and the praising them. Now I can ask her by saying ‘will you do a poop please,’ she has a sniff, then it happens. It helps with car rides and excitement if they are asked to go beforehand. I’ve had no accidents. Thank you for the great info.
i found the best game to exhaust my doberman mentaly, i play ball with him but i keep the ball until he manage to took it away from me ( we are playing soccer basically ) only 20 min needed !! that awesome i'm so happy i found this
Never take your eye off them. Use a crate at night, you still have to get up and take them out. Take out after eating and drinking. If they do have an accident, clean and neutralise!
The pro tip is key! Working great. Still have accidents when we play but fewer as the weeks go by. He hates the crate. For some reason he keep peeing in it. Tried the short time technique and within the first couple minutes he relieves himself. Like in spite. I've tried not taking him out because I didn't want to condition him to being taken out after he relieves himself and it still doesn't work. Just stuck. I'll try making his crate smaller. I don't know suggestions?
Going through this now and this has been so helpful. We just have to find that right reward...great help as always.
So glad to hear it! Thank you!
Man im struggling so much . He always poop outside in the balcony at the area i told him to but he pee inside idk how to fix this .
Oh and also, make sure you really clean of all the areas where the dog pees inside, otherwise he will go there again (there are sprays for this)
Have you managed to solve the problem now? :)
I have a 7 week old Doberman she cry’s soo much cuz can’t sleep on my bed that eventually I go on floor and let her out to sleep by me, she doesn’t pee or poop on me during the night, should I let her cry from her crate? Yes , instead correct the behavior and just move them to the correct spot and use key words like “go potty” or whatever . And reward good behavior

I think it's great that he focuses specifically on the Doberman breed. They are a very intelligent breed but do require a special touch so for those of us who have the breed this is the only place to come for help.
Dobermann are different...very different!
This channel is a gem, I've been binge watching all of them, and writing down the things I need before i get my first doberman pup
@Bruce LeeHow do you work the 2 hour rule at night or overnight? Do the pups have accidents at night or can they hold till the morning?
So glad I studied before getting my Dobie pups. Great info.
How’s the training?
I have a Bouvier and a Standard Poodle but I still find your videos so enjoyable to watch. Every single time I take a "what's the best breed for you" test, the result is always, Doberman!
Kids&Fids I have a standard poodle and just got a Doberman puppy today!
Just got my Doberman puppy 3 days ago I come to your channel to educate myself all the time.
That's a great point! When it's potty time it's business time!
Aw man hope everything is workin out for ya! How's the pup?
@@blondie9909 pup is great although she did give as a big scare with pneumonia and a $10,000 Australian vet bill.
just adopted a 13 week old American Doberman, so this info is super super helpful! he came from a terrible, neglectful home, so potty training is going a little rough, but this video has made me feel so much better! we have been watching your videos religiously, thank you :)
Thank you for this. We are preparing for our Doberman Pup to arrive in 2 weeks! First-time dog owner so your tips are helpful
How are things going with your dobie?
I just picked my baby girl up 2 hours ago.
Your videos are fantastic and you are truly a gem to all dog owners.
You are one of the top dog info producers, ik you love dobermans and specialize there, but you help alot of other dog owners. 🐕 I want a Dobie
Man I just found your channel a few days ago, and I can't stop watching your videos, I almost see all.
Don't stop it! Make more videos!
Doberman Planet indeed it has John with every vid u shared I am growing to love more of this breed one day I will own one. Thank you again John 🥰👍🏻
Bed
Beautiful pup and his ears look great too!. I have a new pup and in 50 years of owning Dobes I've never used a crate. I always thought Dobes hated crates because they couldn't protect you if needed? The only problem I've encountered with new one is chewing on the sofa. I'm subscribed to your channel so I'm going to do a search on how to discourage chewing.
just got my first doberman puppy yesterday and he is doing great
I’m getting a european dobie puppy soon and you’re videos are really helpful, I think I’ll be prepared 😌
I’m watching this video since we JUST got a 3 month old European doby and he was in bed with us as soon as u mentioned that part I ran to grab his crate from the living room and set him up in my bedroom on the floor.
I need potty training tips!
I watch the vids at least twice. One to just gush over Arlo and another to actually learn the tricks ^_^ Stay healthy and happy doggo
Thank you so much Peter! Congrats on your Euro boy! That's awesome!
We just got a European Doberman 8 weeks old and appreciate all your training clips. Mega helpful, thank you
Ok im about to go pickup my puppy doberman today and I can't thank you enough I watch your videos until 1 am not it 8am driving off to pick him up 3hour ride oh boy here we go !!!!
At my age its me getting up for a wee, not the dog.🤣
1: take them out when they wake up
2: take them out once they have eaten
3: take them out when they start sniffing around
4: never show disappointment if an accident happens, just clean it up but always show appreciation when he goes outside. OTT really
Only takes a couple of weeks and has never failed for me. Keep up the good work!
Oh and bin those puppy pads. They teach very poor habits and confuses the hell out of the dog.
Im sure there are other training methods out there that work great, but this is exactly our method as well that we have used for many years and you are so spot on with all your advice. :) Fantastic video!
How long should this method take? And what should we do if the doby baby “mistakes” in the house?
We just “had” our 3rd Dobe baby, and he’s a BABY 8weeks old, our brilliant and beautiful Kane. Despite previous experience& training we’ve learned SO MUCH from you and your videos. Thank you SO MUCH.
Your advice are super! I have owned two Dobermans till now and next month I am going to welcome a new puppy in the house. Though I have trained already dobs, I am listening to your super videos, as if it was my first time. You are very direct and simple, just marvelous! Keep up the good job. ❤️
Really enjoying the current videos helping with our 1yr old dobie thanks.
So glad it's helping!
Absolutely great advise! Working on getting my first Dobbie. Educating myself before going in.
I use the bell on the door also. Excellent tool!
This actually works for all puppy's,. I do this with all of my dogs. But very helpful.
Great tips, and a good looking Doby! He’s getting big fast!
Thank you so much for this video. I am picking up my doberman puppy in two days!!! 🖤
Female Doberman ? I just got a puppy and was thinking of spaying her after 6 months
@@chrispy10939 Definitely wait for the organs to fully develop. It takes about a year to 2 years for a female to be considered mature. My vet wont spay until 14 months old
wow your vids are amazing, your made for this!
Also everyday move the pads closer to the outside door everyday! Took us 7-10 days to do this! Never put those pads in their crate!
MrYodi2007 thank you lots for your supportive feedback.
Being a nurse must be a very demanding job, especially these days. Love and prayers to you!
Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed this one!!! 🙌
Superb content and delivery, really appreciate a well thought out aid...thanks
Awesome video ! Preparing me for my new Doberman puppy coming home soon!
Very exciting! When does your new pup come? Good for you taking the time to research things BEFORE your pup gets here!
PLEASE do a video on how you wrap the Arlos ears so beautifully! Thank you for the awesome videos :)
I used ALL of these tips with our last dog. And I can tell you they work.
Thank you so much for this video I needed this man
Thank God I found you!! I learned so much ... You explain everything in details and that helps a lot... 🤗❤🇨🇦
Don't forget the bell hanging off the door knob. My dobey knows to ring it with her nose when she is ready to go out.
10:50 ok we see you, smart puppy! Daddy didn't even have to wait long😁😉
No I didn't! It was right when I whipped out the camera too. Haha. Good pup!
Dee Espinosa nice seeing you Dee!

Thank you so much Rae! I've had multiple requests for this video and it's definitely rising on the list of videos I plan to do!
Very interesting n informative advice on potty training that would be useful for any dog breed. Kudos !
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful thank you for the great videos.
great advice 😊
Thanks! Great info. A favor please....can you do a video about the ear posting you are doing? Yours look much more comfortable than others I have seen. Thanks!
It's definitely on the list! Thank you for urging me a little more on that. It's rising the ranks of my list quickly since so many are requesting it!
i been watching your videos for a week now im planning to get a doberman my only concern is i work 8 9 hours a day
he wont be alone but i dont want him to get to anxious
please make a video about how to teach doberman obedience thankyouu
i’m glad i already knew these things! though i’ve never used pee pads with with any animals except i used them under water bowls for ferrets cuz they liked tip the bowls. thankfully, my gsd came to us potty trained. she seemed to know to cry at the door when she had to potty. i was surprised and relieved
Hey john, can you please make a video going more in depth on the part where you talk about making the dog look at your house as a den
Great videos man, been planning on get a Great Dane over the next year but I'm now starting to consider Doberman 😄
Great tips. 👍
Thank you so much James!
Post a video on how you tape your Dobermans ears!
i cannot wait to get one
thanks so much this is very helpful!!!
Thank you for the great info.
i found the best game to exhaust my doberman mentaly, i play ball with him but i keep the ball until he manage to took it away from me ( we are playing soccer basically ) only 20 min needed !! that awesome i'm so happy i found this
Love getting new game ideas! Thank you for sharing!
Crate training series please!
Good idea! I added it to my list! Thank you!
Never take your eye off them. Use a crate at night, you still have to get up and take them out. Take out after eating and drinking. If they do have an accident, clean and neutralise!
HI JOHN!

GREETINGS FROM GERMANY!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💔❤💙💚💛😘😍
Thank you so much Silvia! I really appreciate you checking out my video!
Silvia, pls don’t steal my lines! 🤣
Love from your #1 German fan John! 😘
We got our puppy he is only 6 weeks old and after 3 days he already goes through doggy door outside and pees in the grass! They are super smart!!!
