I put a Paperlike screen protector on every iPad I buy, simply because the feeling of the Apple Pencil on the regular screen makes my teeth itch! Grab yours here: geni.us/PAPERLIKE_2024_4
Funny, I tried a paper like screen cover and it made my teeth itch. I prefer a bare screen. I also love my Mini, so you seem to be wrong on "nobody". Video got thumbs down.
I tried an iPad twice before. An iPad Pro 11 inch & the Mini 6. I returned both. If they ever made a mini pro with 120hz and OLED, instant buy for me. I have been spoiled by OLED
@@JKPOrigins Was watching videos on my galaxy note 8 since it’s been about 2-3 years since i switched to iPhone and iPad and holy cow man. OLED display on that thing even all busted up still looks awesome, the new ones must be absolute eye candy.
Funny thing is the iPad Mini is the only widely used iPad outside the creative space. It’s commonly used by law agencies, aviation, marine, logistics, health institutions and even more
Yes, I am a resident physician and I used my iPad mini on AM rounds to check labs in real time and put in orders. It’s not cumbersome, fits in the pockets of my white coat, and doesn’t take up unnecessary space. It’s also the greatest study tool you can use to quickly glance at medical info on the fly and take down notes and create to do lists for patients. I would be upset if apple removed it from its lineup. I also have the iPhone 13 mini, and love it as well. I hate phones that are too big to fit into pockets comfortably.
Because 8 inch is the perfect size for tablet PC. . If Your tablet is 10 inch or more, then You're wasting Your money at a wrong device, tablet should be 8 inch (perfect size) for drawing, reading, note taking and sketching, if the screen is 10 inch or more, these are the problem : - Too large, not simple/practical anymore - The price will be too expensive - More screen -» more palm rejection, this thing never go as You think in real life - Big screen isn't comfortable to hold, but 8 inch is perfect, not too big not too small + lightweight - Seriously, big screen is not that mobile as You might think, tablet PC with screen bigger than 8 inch just brings You more space, weight, attention, impractical, clingy and public attractions. . If You want a big screen, just get a laptop, as I said, from 13 or 15 inch is the perfect size for mobile computing, not for tablet.
My take is that Apple knows iPad Mini’s consumer group, I.e. healthcare workers, hospitals, cookbook and ebook reader etc so it doesn’t necessarily need much more
As much as I'd like to argue with you, I think you might be right. I fall into that group - I'd primarily use the mini for watching youtube and reading book on the Kindle app. I'm not editing videos or playing intense games.
We dont need any refresh more than 24hz. But we still dont like a lagging screen :( We are not after 240 or 165 or 144hz either. It should at least be 90 in 2024 if not 120 :(
I have a few pilot friends who swear by the ipad mini (cockpit ipads) for their electronic flight bags. It's size makes it perfect in the cockpit. The screen in large enough to be readable while being small enough to not dominate the limited space.

This is the device I wanted. I would've bought the 6th gen earlier this year, but with the rumblings about a minor upgrade I waited and preordered on announcement day. Its going to be an ereader, note taking device and for casual media consumption. I don't need higher than 60hz if that is going to raise the price at all. I understand everyone else's wants for this to be a pro device, but with an iPhone, an M3 Pro Macbook Pro, and Apple TV connected to a 77" LG 4K TV, this is a perfect fit for exactly what it will do for me.
Apple’s dream customer. IPhone, iPad, Apple Tv, Macbook… 😅 I have many of their products too: watch, iPhone, ipad, but sold my old MacBook and iMac this year. Saving up for some newer MacBook.
As a musician, the Mini lets me carry my scores as well as my backing tracks. It's so useful, mine was stolen at a jam session. The fact it fits a pants pocket but is big enough to read from a music stand makes it a must have. Yeah, there's not much new. But it's a tool for a particular subset of tasks, and IS the best tool for that particular job.
The problem is, is that Apple blocks there own sales with other products! For example, you can buy the larger ipad 9th and 10th gen for a lot cheaper price then the ipad mini, thus making no one wanting to buy the mini! That's the problem!
Yeah there's this. I think the Mini is popular in the tech space because it's so convenient due to the size. But you're right, for the price, it's an odd choice!
I enjoy my iPad mini 6 and I'm an Android user. The mini is just the perfect size for watching content or reading a book or quick navigation for big screen. I think the perfect iPad mini would be one with an m1 or M2 chip. Like you said no camera except for one in the front and And that should be on the long side. Better microphones for video calls. Thinner bezels unable to use it as a second monitor for either a Mac or a PC
I don’t think Apple would kill the iPad Mini. A lot of people only think about the device from an average consumer’s perspective, but these devices are absolutely critical in many enterprise deployments due to their smaller form factor. I know that HVAC employees use these things for everything since they’re pocketable and much smaller than a standard iPad/iPad Pro. Waiters and small businesses appreciate using them as small payment terminals as well. While it is a small market, I think a lot of business appreciate this device, and Apple has been trying to keep their foot in the door for business and education.
Apple user here, deep in the ecosystem. I own an iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd gen) and while I loved it so much when I got it for college, in the IT corporate world I've just been using it as a side monitor to watch HP ambience videos on, haha. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing device, but after a while it's quite uncomfortable to hold and impossible to easily throw into a purse. I wanted something bigger than the iPhone, but easy enough to hold while watching videos, scrolling through Pinterest and reading books, either be it on the couch or on the go. So I ended up pre-ordering the mini 7 and now I'm pretty much counting the hours until Wednesday, heheh.
I have a iPad 5. I dropped something on it’s screen and battery is dying. Been waiting for the update. I’ll be getting myself one for Christmas. Not everybody needs pro chips and a zillion bytes . Me included
My brother is an Apache pilot in the military and he uses an iPad mini on every flight - they have specific software that the pilots use and they keep it strapped to their leg while they fly. I’m not sure of the details of the software but I know that it’s an important tool for them.
I agree with you that the iPad Mini is the only iPad that is comfortable to use as a hand-held device. The others are nice when used with a keyboard case, but are unwieldy as hand-helds. I’m really hoping that the Mini doesn’t get cancelled! I use one almost every day.
I’m a physician in a hospital and use my mini 6 for my work flow. Have had the 6 since 2021. Works perfect but a few drops over the years. I was looking forward to a new upgrade with 120 promotion and maybe a brighter screen and landscape camera for zoom calls. Outside of that it was already plenty powerful. This new spec doesn’t add anything for me so I’ll keep using my current one til it breaks or they release a better mini.
My work flow doesn’t rely on RAM, or CPU power. The iPads are extremely powerful as is. But a higher resolution screen and better refresh rate would be ideal
The big problem with iPad's is that they killed the golden screen size of 9.7", instead opting to keep a similar footprint and just stretch the screen instead of shrinking the footprint for slimmer bezels on the 9.7" screen. It seems they basically want the standard size to be 11", which is just that little bit too big to be an optimal handheld tablet. Sure, it's the same footprint as the old iPad 2 era, but making the screen itself bigger means that content that was just shy of awkwardly large on the 9.7" looks distracting and makes you hold it further away. 9.7" was just small enough to browse sites and apps in portrait and just big enough to watch movies and play games in landscape.
Exactly! I’m a student that uses the iPad for note taking. Currently have the 11inch Pro M1. It’s nice but sometimes it’s a bit too much for transporting around and holding. I’ve been eyeing the mini for a while but I’m not sure if it’ll be big enough for me.
For me making a Mini Pro would be the perfect iPad. Either OLED or even keeping it LCD would be fine if they’d give it the 600 nits of brightness the last gen IPad Pros had. Give it 4 speakers like the Pros, give it ProMotion, give it either the A18 Pro chip or an M series chip and allow for Stage Manager use. If they’d do that I would trade my 11 inch M2 Pro for it pretty instantly. I much prefer the small size. I just can’t give up some features
Simply upgrading the camera to a modern spec would make it a huge preference for film makers, especially with the new FCP camera app. Instead of carrying around a big, bulky iPad as the control camera, you could have a smaller one. This would attract a huge audience. Also, i think it just makes sense despite the price and demographic difference to have a pro camera on the iPad mini as its the closest thing to phone whilst still being almost computer like.
I would have waited a year if I had known this was coming. Instead I wanted to get rid of my Mini 5 that was aging. So I got the Mini 6 last December. Now only 10 months later I’m going to trade it in and get the new one and stick with it.
Update: I did indeed upgrade to the Mini 7. I couldn’t hold out any longer and bought it on release day. I got the WiFi + Cell version. I’m keeping it as long as it gets iOS updates.
The iPad mini is widely used in many businesses, and provided by the company, the same as the iPhone SE. So essentially you don’t really buy one, when I was a graduate student on placement, that’s what we used, they would update them as they rolled out new models, surface go are better but it’s the cost of subscriptions for Microsoft Applications, replacement of the pen and keyboards, I guess apple stuff last better maybe. I have a 27 fully loaded iMac that still works flawlessly and iPad 10, that is still running well. I run my own business now and as a manager the mini iPad is still top pick, I can do my disability support work easily with this, take notes, use the portal to update and upload, and it’s easy to carry around on the go.
I was at the store today and randomly saw an iPad Mini in display for the first time. Tried it a bit and fell in love with it, it has the best dimensions and also the best/comfortable bezel size out there. This product is a true gem. PS. you can also type easily on it
i used to own an ipad mini 4 from 2015 to 2021 i used it for everything, reading, studying, consuming media, and gaming. it was the perfect size for me as i have small hands. i recently got the ipad 10th gen, however, i really miss the smaller size of the mini since it can be more portable. i sometimes want to bring a smaller bag but my 10th gen can’t fit so i have to switch bags. i hope apple doesn’t discontinue the mini series as i see myself choosing the smaller form factor more
Agreed about the missing waterproofing. The portability of the size is wasted if I have to baby it against spills or rain; it needs to go where I go and just keep working. I can throw a bumper case over it but aftermarket waterproof cases just aren't reliable. The smaller size is also more likely to be carried *with* a primary laptop than any of the other iPads because it doesn't add half again the weight of the laptop. The more valued gap I have in my kit is for a dependable but powerful outdoor/field computer that's more rugged/expendable than the laptop (which is why it shouldn't be in the same price range) but has the space to do much more than my phone. Existing rugged tablets/DIY options also have other OSs which won't integrates as well with my phone/laptop.
Of course I'll get the Mini 7th Gen! My present is an iPad 5th gen, purchased in 2017. Apple no longer offers OS updates. I am opting for the Mini because of its size. I am NOT a gamer, I use a tablet for reading & writing. Please do what you can to let The Apple People know we want the Journal app to be CROSS-PLATFORM! Thank you!
I am not sure why the fact that a 2 year old product that's had a full upgrade of its internals but with ZERO price increase (when everything else we buy today is significantly more expensive due to inflation)....is not even worth a mention in the review! Really odd.
Former iPad mini 5 owner here. Was holding out for a 7 with promotion and/or face id but recently got bored of waiting and replaced both my iPhone mini AND iPad mini with an OPPO Find N2 foldable. Very happy with the switch! 😅
The 6 has been my favourite iPad of all time. Yes, screen “issues” and all. I was hoping for a more relevant update, but it’s still good to see they did something. At least that. But I’d love an 8 with OLED… that’s all.
I have a sweet spot for the iPad Mini and Mac Mini for that matter. I think the Apple product line at the moment is a right mess. It's weird that the iPad mini is more expensive than the regular iPad, that has a bigger screen. Most people don't want to pay more money to get less. - Even though the iPad mini is more powerful, it's still not powerful enough to warrant not going for the regular iPad. Then if you want the larger screen version, you still have got to decide whether you want the iPad Air, or the stupidly expensive iPad Pro. The iPad Pro - amazing desktop power, but without the desktop apps (Yes Logic Pro for iPad I'm talking about you!). Then there are about 6 Apple pencils or something.... Talk about confusing!! They should just come out with 3 sizes - 8" Mini, 10" Pro, and 12" Max. All available in an M2 or M4 processor. Let people then decide what screen size they want, and how much power/storage. Then 1 pencil that works on them all. It would be way less confusing!!
I think give it 2-4 years and they'll standardise the pencils - but yeah it's a right mess at the moment. My buyers guides get more complicated every year with all the varying price points and specs which don't make sense - spend more and get a lower spec product, but that has a couple of features the cheaper one doesn't !
@@PeteMatheson It's almost as if the confusion is a deliberate sales tactic to make people buy way more than they need. I'm seriously considering 2 regular iPads over a 13" iPad Air - as surely two iPads are better than one right?
@@benjaminpeternorris I got tricked by apple this way. Just wanted the iPad mini but the normal iPad was cheaper and bigger. Then because I wanted to draw and stuff and the screen of the iPad air is much better for that I landed there. Then I realised the step to the Pro isn't that big. So I love my iPad Pro but at first I just wanted the mini 😅
Regular Ipad is better for repairs. Air is expensive to repair but sleeker. M2/3 show plenty of power but not great at multitasking. Because then they might threaten macbook sales. But I say there are people who have never used laptops or pc's, iphone may have been their first device. So the ipad plays that next step up. But they're too basic.
I personally love the iPad mini. I bought the iPad Pro M1 for $1200 thinking I was going to use it for advanced procreate drawing and eventually the 3D drawing and the fancy LiDAR camera etc. but never ended up using it. It's way overpowered for the average person. Hence why the iPad mini tbh with the Apple pencil is the best use for most people. The fact that you can treat it like an ebook reader, fits nicely in palms and jean pockets, and can draw and take notes. I hope Apple continues to improve the ipad mini lol
I'll get it in a few months after seeing if the jelly scroll issue is gone and 8gb will be sufficient. I don't mind the plain screen, less energy consumed and less burn in. I'm new to iPad eco. I want something cellular for note taking and travel.
I use my mini every day. I don't want to carry a pro max phone around all tht time but the mini size is perfect for browsing at home. The larger ipad is almost to heavy to hold tho
I have to admit I'm a champion of sorts for the iPad mini 7. Yeah, it should have had an A18 or a lower price, but you know what? It's still the fastest small tablet you can buy, it supports one of the most advanced styluses you can buy, and it's going have several years of software support. Sounds like a great digital sketchbook for artists, or an e-reader on steroids for people who also want to play games or do some audiovisual editing on the side. With that said, if I were in the market for an iPad right this second, I'd buy an 11-inch iPad Air M2 (if money was a vague concern) or a 13-inch iPad Pro M4 (if I was ready to splurge). But that's more my particular needs than anything.
I just traded my 12.9" pro for the new iPad Air M2 11" just a few weeks ago. I also have a Mini 6 and I'm trying to justify "upgrading" to the mini 7. Of all the iPads I have owned over the years, the mini is my absolute favorite. Unfortunately I bought the base mini 6 with only 64gb storage and I'm just about out of storage space, so I could really use more storage (other than external ssd) just not sure if I should. I can get $230 trade in for my current iPad mini so that's only about $220 out of pocket for a new iPad mini.... hmmmm decisions decisions. I personally wouldn't need a "pro" versions of the mini, but I can see why people would love that. How about give it everything the Air has just in the mini size? Mini Air anyone?
I just need an ipad for viewing pdf's and some youtubing. I don't trust them to be more useful than this. Would you buy mini 6th for 350 or mini 7 for 499? both are 64gb.
The problem is price. Why is an iPad that feels the same to use as the regular iPad but smaller almost double the price. Just make the iPad Mini the same price as the normal iPad and increase the memory.
The reason the price is so high is because at a lower price point the profits become marginal and then the decision is whether to continue or discontinue the iPad mini. It is a small seller making low profit even less than the iPhone mini, and that was abandoned. People expecting cheaper prices would end up with nothing like in Android land where Samsung has given up on the $500 8-in tablet for obvious reasons.

Love this mate. I have 2 ipads. The Pro (highest Spec) and the Mini. Guess which one I use almost every day, and more importantly which one the kids actually love more. You guessed it. The MINI!!! I dont know why people arent buying them they are such great little devices
Got to have better battery. Like a lot better. Same problem with the iPhone one mini. I liked the concept but in practice people did not buy them mostly because of battery.
Hey I'd like more battery on everything. But I don't find the battery to be so bad. If you adjust some of the settings and clip the wings of background apps that shouldn't be hogging your battery.
Love my iPad mini! I'm getting the series 7. I can sell my iPad mini 6 now and get just under half the full price of the ipad mini 7 (if I wait that price will drop I'm sure). And it means I get 128gb instead of 64gb, 3 more years of updates, a much faster processor that can run apple intelligence as it's rolled out, which will have a higher resale value than my series 6, has a fee other improvements like connectivity on WiFi and Bluetooth. And my iPad mini 6 accessories, case and keyboard will work. Sure a better screen would have been nice but that's not an issue for me with my iPad mini 6. What I was hoping for was wireless charging.
When using two cameras for footage, make sure they have the same grading. its jarring whenever the two cameras cut between each other and the colors and lighting looks completely different
iPad Mini is our only “device” It does everything we need. We will update and enjoy the enhancements. I hope the product remains in the line up for many years.

@@c.daubz.5386 there will never be a 120hz mini the market has proven that consumers of the iPad don’t really care that much about 120hz when there is no 120Hz content. The mini will get oled 4 years after the base iPad gets it. And I don’t think anything wants software silliness just for smaller bezels just cause. The mini market is not a pro market, really the iPad pro isn’t really a pro device when it has no software to back it.
There is a group of eBook and manga/manhwa readers (that includes me) that prefer iPad Mini. I hope they won't discontinue it. The size is just perfect for reading and bringing it anywhere. And it fits most women's bags.
I have the iphone 16 pro as my main computer and i dont need the ipad mini to do what the iphone does for me i just need it for average use when i want to give my iphone a break here and there so yes i will be getting one for chrismast wifi +cellular.
Their "bare minimum" upgrade is irrelevant when people would still buy whatever the products they release so "punish" them with your wallet and don't buy their products till they get their sh*t right
@@TheGodNC tech will almost always be better with time so we move on (unless it's certain functional "left-out" features like SD card slot, 3.5mm jack, IR blaster)
The Mini is my favorite Apple Product right now. I love the size and format it’s so easy to carry around and the image and features are excellent. I’m going to order the 7th soon.
I bought the 127GB Mini 7 (64GB was not enough on the 6). I'm coming from a 12.9 Gen 1 Pro (2015), and the mini is four times faster. I would love a 120Hz OLED screen, but I'm OK with the current screen. The reason they didn't change the shape etc., was that I see most minis in restaurants and other business applications, and they've spent a significant amount on docks and other hardware, and a 60Hz screen is OK for menus...
The pencil pro on the ipad mini can make this the best sketchbook to have! Can be carried quite easily in a lightweight bag and even some coat inner pockets. Bring it everywhere to draw and sketch and when you get home, use the iPad Pro to continue refining your art!
Needed iPad and got the 6 this year. Loves it and would hold onto it until a “pro” version came out. But I would like iPad mini line up to just be one uber model since it’s already priced at a premium
I feel like the sales would pretty much be the same or worse if it ends up $800 with all the (awesome) upgrades. I think they're trying to keep the price at $500 so upgrades will be probably lagging behind until new tech becomes cheaper.
I literally haven’t used my 12.9” iPad Pro that I’ve had for 6 years since I got my iPad mini 6. Is so much more useable and ideal for everyday use. I really hope they give us a mini pro soon. This update was a letdown/tease
I agree about the Apple Mouse. It doesn't like to connect with my Imac from 2017 that I have in the basement, but does hook up with my Imac from 2021. I have the Ipad mini 6 and see no reason to trade in for the 7. The mini 6 works beautifully.
If it were either cheaper or more powerful I’d buy it. I want the smaller screen and lighter weight, but it’s priced identically to the Air, which is all around more capable, so I couldn’t justify the price
I’ve always wanted an iPad mini, a lot of my mates had them also the Design was more modern then the older bigger iPads years ago so that was another reason why I warmed to them. I got an iPad Air 2 in 2014 which I’ve loved and used for most of the decade (haven’t used it this year tho ). I’m now getting a iPad mini 7 this Christmas and I’m excited for the form factor I looked at the new air and really thought to myself do I need this extra screen space and bulk, and I know if it’s smaller I’m more likely to use it out and about. my iPhone battery can finally have a break while im in the house
I also thought the iPad Air feels a bit two half arsed because I’d be looking at the pro models thinking if only I could afford that ( for the oled screen) so the mini makes more sense to me, the base iPads specs are too low for me
For me I find face id works much better than the finger print sensor, so that would be on my ideal mini. Also support physical sims and allow the device to be able receive SMSs adressed to its own SIM (some operators need this for account resets)
I need an iPad but I am really stuck. I like the updated mini but currently on Amazon the iPad Air M2 costs almost the same but with Air you get a bigger screen and a much better chip. I think the only reason anyone would get a mini at this price point is if you really need a smaller sized ipad (I hear pilots love them). However if a smaller size isnt a concern this is a no brainer. In my case I needed a smaller tablet to always have with me. I had an iPad 9 before but it isnt as portable as you’d think.
I’ve got the last gen iPad Mini and an iPad Air and use the Mini 95% of the time. It weighs less, is the perfect size for toting around the house or travel and is a snappy, reliable tool that offers more visual real estate for pretty much anything social media related. With that being said, I was so ready to upgrade to the new iPad Mini until I realized the upgrades were so minimal it didn’t make sense to spend so much for so little. I would love to see an OLED screen, with better battery performance. Come on Apple, it’s 2024 and you’re a premium tech company. OLED should be a standard.
I use my Mini for notetaking and not for media consumption. For my next upgrade, I'm considering an e-ink device - they now come with color screens, some have the Google Play Store so you can use apps such as Kindle and Kobo, and the pencil doesn't need to be charged. Also the device can last for weeks on a single charge.
I would only like to talk about the Paperlike screen protector. A few warnings - it's a matte screen protector, so don't buy it if you plan on doing anything beyond taking notes, because the colour accuracy is going to go down. That means your colour richness - the inky blacks - are also going away. Second, there would be a bit of rainbowing too, since it is, once again, a matte screen protector. That means you'd be seeing what looks like colour noise from the display, because the diffusing layer scatters the light into different colours. Third and most important, only buy this product if you can afford: 1. The $45 price for a matte screen protector because that is not cheap. 2. Stylus tip replacements, because the apple pencil stylus is not made for rough surfaces and it would wear out much quicker than usual.
Apple need to stop believing this notion that 120hz is a Pro feature because it just isn't anymore. You have £200 Android phones with 120hz. Hoping that next year when they potentially add 120hz to the base iPhone 17's they add it to iPad mini or add a iPad mini Pro with a new design or well just thiner bezels, 120hz OLED
Slimmer bezels, landscape camera, newest base iPhone chip, pro motion, the new iPad Air speakers, thinner design (not as thin as iPad Pro M4 but thinner than now), and maybe Center stage. Perfect iPad mini 8
I love my ipad mini i use it everyday. I used to have a pro. And trade it for mini because it fell on my face too many times lol. This ipad mini is amazing!
I just bought an iPad Mini 7 and I'm very happy with it after using an iPad Mini 4 for 7 years! The Mini 7 is so much lighter than the Mini 4 and that is a plus for me.
Forget paperlike protector. I got a glass protector in mat finish. The mat finish feels great with the pencil or finger and since its glass, protects better than a paperlike.
I hope Apple continue and improve on the iPad Mini. I scaled back from an iPad Pro 12.9 inch to the 11 inch (much better) and am now tempted to get the iPad mini because I feel it would be a fantastic device to use and be far more portable. Not bothered about 120 refresh rate, keeping it light, portable, and making it waterproof are more important aims.
I use my iPad pro for mobile games and...yeah, mostly that. I had an ipad mini which ran my smart home products but sadly, it started to feel sluggish after a few years. I would like to buy the new mini only when it gets a steep discount or if I find a used one at the thrift shop.
The thing is about the IPad is that the Pro and Air do the exact same thing. The M series chip has so much overhead that is never used by IpadOS. They need to redo the IPad line. Pro, Base (the new air), and a mini.
I love my Mini 6. It instantly replaced my iPad Pro, which I rarely use anymore. I’m actually watching this on it. It’s handier, easier to travel with, and isn’t pretending to be a (poor) laptop replacement. Shame they didn’t do more with the update. I’ll stick with the 6. Wish they still had the mini phone. I’ve always bought the pro max because it served as my television/infotainment unit, but I’ve recently got home high speed internet and I don’t need my phone to fill that role anymore.
I’m digging the new iPad mini, however I upgraded from the mini 5. I also have the iPad Pro 11. The mini works great for my travels and cell service backup. Give us ….Floss voice “Flagship specs bro” giggidy.

Instead of trying to power what people already do, a lot of the refreshes in the past few years feel like trying to justify the extra power they added
You think 120hz would help your work flow more than double the RAM and faster CPU?
You're so right. 1000% right. My 11" is too big and my 8.3" Mini is too small.
Exactly! I’m a student that uses the iPad for note taking. Currently have the 11inch Pro M1. It’s nice but sometimes it’s a bit too much for transporting around and holding. I’ve been eyeing the mini for a while but I’m not sure if it’ll be big enough for me.

7% of iPad sales = 7% of iPad R&D effort. Simple.
You get what you put into it. They haven’t fully invested in the product
I loved my iPad mini but I think if they aren’t going to change the bezels and make a bigger change to the processor the iPad mini will sadly fail.
PS. you can also type easily on it
I got the mini 6 about a month ago and don’t regret it one bit!
i used to own an ipad mini 4 from 2015 to 2021 i used it for everything, reading, studying, consuming media, and gaming. it was the perfect size for me as i have small hands. i recently got the ipad 10th gen, however, i really miss the smaller size of the mini since it can be more portable. i sometimes want to bring a smaller bag but my 10th gen can’t fit so i have to switch bags. i hope apple doesn’t discontinue the mini series as i see myself choosing the smaller form factor more
Agreed about the missing waterproofing.
What would do it for me? Same specs as most recent iPad Pro, smaller bezels with a little bit more screen estate.
Of course I'll get the Mini 7th Gen! My present is an iPad 5th gen, purchased in 2017. Apple no longer offers OS updates. I am opting for the Mini because of its size. I just bought the new iPad mini, first one I’ve ever owned. We have an iPad Air at home but I think the mini will be perfect for media consumption.
Adding a paper feel screen protector will for sure get it to the next level for online teaching , I use it for an IPAD pro ... 💜
The production quality of these recent videos mate!! 🥰
Thank you bud! Mostly it has nothing to do with me, lol.

I personally wouldn't need a "pro" versions of the mini, but I can see why people would love that. How about give it everything the Air has just in the mini size? Mini Air anyone?
I would trade it in while they're still offering that much. The 8GB RAM upgrade alone is huge for future updates.

Their "bare minimum" upgrade is irrelevant when people would still buy whatever the products they release so "punish" them with your wallet and don't buy their products till they get their sh*t right
But what if they cancel it 😭
@@TheGodNC certified iphone mini moment
@@TheGodNC tech will almost always be better with time so we move on (unless it's certain functional "left-out" features like SD card slot, 3.5mm jack, IR blaster)
In Australia the iPad mini 7 with 256gb & wifi and cellular costs $1229. That is insanely expensive!!!!
That's why it's called APPLE inc.
That's a fair point for the enterprise use case. Just feels like such a missed opportunity!
I’m getting one for Christmas. I think it would be worthwhile for them to up the refresh rate and slim the bezels.
I have the ipad mini and actually have two, two different versions... Love the size and portability of it.
I ordered a 256gb Mini 7 to replace my gen 6 as it's battery will self discharge and I wanted the A17/Ai...
I don’t exclusively do tech reviews but I bought it. It’s a game changer.
I agree about the Apple Mouse. It doesn't like to connect with my Imac from 2017 that I have in the basement, but does hook up with my Imac from 2021. I have the Ipad mini 6 and see no reason to trade in for the 7. The mini 6 works beautifully.
Add NFC, make it be water and dust proof, and add satellite connection
I just got an iPad Air 11 inch a couple weeks ago. The iPad mini looks cool, but I don’t know if I’d like it
If it were either cheaper or more powerful I’d buy it.
Third and most important, only buy this product if you can afford:
Add stage manager support I’m all in. It would be an instant laptop replacement device. The other iPads are too big to compete with a MacBook Air.
Just want to add, love the content man keep it up.
Thanks man! Appreciate you watching - glad you're enjoying the latest stuff!
I’m digging the new iPad mini, however I upgraded from the mini 5. I also have the iPad Pro 11. The mini works great for my travels and cell service backup. Give us ….Floss voice “Flagship specs bro” giggidy.
Tbh, they need to add 120Hz and I’ll buy it. I’m pretty happy with an LCD on 2021 iPad Pro, and always loved how the mini feels in the hand, but couldn’t stand 60Hz.
Really enjoy your videos. Just commenting here since you asked us 3+ times to do so :) (genuinely do enjoy the videos, but you gotta lighten up on asking for comments)
😂 I’ll look out for that in future.
I keep thinking, oh I need to ask people to comment or they won’t, and then forget if I’ve already asked within a split second.
Thanks either way! 🥳🤘🏼
4:18 oled 120hz screen. M chip processor. Bigger battery. Face ID. No keyboard as this is compact. IP rating definitely ❤
