  • Precise tracking of food often makes it harder to follow and causes a lot of background stress.
This is often referred to as black and white dieting and leads to really poor consistency.
In this video I explain how to overcome this.

The weird thing about calories / syns , was if a app told me I had to have to say 2000 cal to lose 2 pounds a week . I would be like …ooooo so if I only eat 1500 I should lose 3 pounds a week then be annoyed if I didn’t lol 😂 same with slimming world , I would challenge myself to not use any syns and just have “free foods” cos thought I would lose quicker. guess what would happen . I would end up burning out and having days of well I won’t track today then go mad and eat everything in sight . Is that common ? To want to follow rules based approaches but then keep bending & breaking the rules lol 😂

      Yeah, it's a mental minefield!
The question then becomes - why would you want to lose weight as fast as possible?

@@emotionaleatingcoach ah that easy , cos the assumption was always over the years that short term pain for the long term gain of not having to worry about trying to loose weight again . Always thought Losing weight is the hard part , once I am a good weight and can just eat the recommended 2500 calories a day to stay there and that would be easy . What actually happened was my weight resembled a EGC monitor . Spiking up and down all over the place . What I’ve leant this year is actually a stair case is a much better way to go and it will take as long as it takes

@@glen8057 yeah, from my experience the rush to lose is what causes most of the issues. It's about the journey rather than the destination!

@@emotionaleatingcoach couldn’t agree more , finally learning to find a way of eating that I can do for the rest of my life and the weight loss is then a side effect of that way of eating rather then using a diet as a means to a ends
