This game is for the original Xbox but played on Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility and officially became backwards compatible on November 15th, 2021 for Xbox 20th Anniversary. Man, I’m so happy that Microsoft made literally the entire Dead or Alive series available. This is crazy! And not only that Mortal Kombat 9 and MK versus DC is also backwards compatible as well. When it comes to backwards compatibility, Microsoft nails it! Hats off to Microsoft for this

@Starchaser lol, and you could control the replay with the buttons too. We used to always end with certain grab moves and then make the replay look super inappropriate 😂

Mmmm Na I think every game is relative to what technology was bringing at the time. New experiments and efforts to try new things. All games looks good. But the roughest ones in my opinion are 3 and 4 the others are glorious

It aged like a Fine Wine Best Version of Dead or Alive 2 far better than Yohei Shimbori ERA games although Shimbori left Team Ninja after DOA6
A remake DOA 2 like this, still looking fine too other than just DOA1 Ultimate and DOA3, but at least Aerosmith song were still there (Even if i heard a bit). And even first Ryu Hayabusa cutscene still there and looking like a sharp or whatever thingy.
Beautiful and impressive game! Still looks good today! Which goes to show what a powerful system the 1st XBOX was!

Tremendo juego, a mi gusto el mejor DOA, se nota la obra de Tomonobu Itagaki que hasta DOA 4 hizo de esta saga los mejores juegos de pelea. En este caso y a pesar de tener 15 años de antiguedad mantiene un nivel de detalle enfermizo y es increíble lo que pudo hacer con un hardware son solo 64 Mb de memoria ram. Esto junto con Mario 64 en Nintendo son verdaderos prodigios en cuanto aprovechamiento y optimización de una consola.
Hace tiempo que quería jugarlo y cuando lo anunciaron en Xbox compre el 2/3 y 4 sin dudar y se ven excelentemente bien

the one fighting game that needs a sequel is virtua fighter i still think vf is the best to play soul calibur is neglected as well

Dead or Alive 2 just might be the best of the series. I hated 3, but really enjoyed 4, 5, and even 6. Let’s just hope there is a 7 and that the quality is as great as this!

I’ve inserted the disc of this game into an Xbox One S multiple times, but it hasn’t started downloading. Is this a common occurrence?
You need to connect to the internet Xbox live to download it then after that you don't need internet anymore for that certain
It'll download to your hard drive so it's your forever
Keep the disc too cause it acts like a real original Xbox when you try to play the game it'll ask for a disc
Also try updating your Xbox one

Yes that's it. You can put in the original disc and it'll work.

Unless you never own the game Digitally, you need to get the game on disc to play it
Do you know how to unlock costumes, because it's not working as it used to be at least for me.
Clearing story mode a few times per character. Also survival.
@@RedVenomCorp Yeah it is that way, just found out that if we change life gauge and time limit it does not unlock the costumes, that's the thing that was ruining my unlocks.
Also the game has plenty of costumes, each difficulty unlocks a set number of them.

Physical copy doesn't work? I've checked around, and many boosted on getting it digitally. Was planning to buy the Physical copy, but now I'm not so sure.

You need to update your copy before it can work, I actually own DoAU and DoA4 physically and all three of them work when inserting the disk

I could never play it on XBOX, I have the disk as a relic. I wish they reissued it for XBOX360. DOA is my favorite game series ((minus DOA6 which was a bump).
If you have the disc and a Xbox 360, play it. It works on it via backwards compatibility.

Hitomi is avavailable from the start?
She has to be unlocked.
You need to have save data for Dead or Alive 3 and beat Story Mode with Ein on Normal difficulty to unlock Hitomi. Make sure that the difficulty is the only setting you change, otherwise you won't unlock Hitomi, nor will you unlock a new costume for Ein.

Seems odd to port this as this game used pressure sensitivity for moves making it not play right on these new consoles as they all lack that feature.
I have the same situation, since playing this with the pressure sensitive controls, it now thinks you are applying full pressure to all of the buttons when the analog controller settings are turned on, so it would be having to get use to the more complicated button controls and combinations
Wasn't that only in PS2 controller? Even there it was largely a gimmick.
@@UltraCasualPenguin When DOA3 came on the original xbox it too had settings to change the sensitivity on the buttons when using analog controller settings turned on, DOA2 had that option on the PS2 and also on DOA2 Ultimate when it was released for the original xbox too, it's a shame they couldn't do it now for the current gen or updating the controller for pressure sensitive games like this to work
@@MadDevilseye Good thing I have DOA2U on disc. In what menu? Updating controller would require building new controller and sending them to players.
@@UltraCasualPenguin I wouldn't say much, and what menu in the settings in the game, least if i remember correctly but forgive me if wrong, also i don't think rebuilding a new controller would be needed, just to update the firmware on the current controllers or update the game, mind you for something so simple i wouldn't be shocked if they had to rebuild a new one for sensitive input buttons.

For those of you who read this: You can just collect all survival items without playing the story mode multiple times. Thats enough in order to unlock every costume in this game.
