@@wubziz4769 It's the saddest shit ever. Everyone cries the hardest when she's on the moon alone, seeing an illusion of David, then smiles. He disappears, her smile fades and you hear the emotion in her voice. Then, she smiles again, closes her eyes and look towards the sun, extending her arms slowly to feel the heat of its rays. You can even interpret the lyrics as David talking to Lucy. The part that the song says “hold on to your wishes if you can’t hold on to me” sounds like David saying that, despite the fact that he is no longer here, Lucy should still try to achieve her dreams. And the next part of the song that says “forgive me for letting you down” sounds like David saying that he’s sorry that he won’t be able to go to the moon with her.
I think the whole song is like Lucy and David are both talking to the other. Because of the fact that lyrics says "trying so hard to release you out of the misery" and "trying so hard to ne free, to make you see what i see" is like if Lucy was talking to David And David is saying "Hold on to your wishes if you can't hold on to me" "forgove me for let you Down" etc..
So this is is how she reacted after everything. Walked in sadness, smoked, went and bathed, couldn’t stop hurting, got out and still hurt, then remembered about the moon.. Why does she have to be the one left all alone.. why did everyone have to die.
I love how they had the intro being David’s absolute blast of a journey through night city with a pretty chaotic song and then the outro slows down with Lucy in the aftermath of everything that happened in the show. Idk how to describe the immeasurable pain that I've felt after watching this show. It's like you get into a really serious car accident that severely hurt you physically. During the accident you feel shock, adrenaline and discomfort. After the accident you endure indescribable pain, you cry because the wound hurts, you're in constant distress, you become depressed because of the trauma. You think about the accident excessively and you're reminded of the struggles constantly. This is all while you don't even recieve medical treatment or therapy for the wound and trauma. Because of this the wound has great difficulty healing itself. For you to make it heal you need to stay as still as possible. However, at the slightest distraction, at the slightest hindrance, at the slightest inconvenience you move and you rip open the wound and it needs to start the healing process all over again. So over time it's this slow burn that wont go away but with enough time and commitment it will heal. However, without the medical treatment or therapy it makes it near impossible to do so. @@samplingmastersxlr8660 Fuck out of here this anime ending is killing almost all of them in sadness. Stop. It really is, and this ending right here, knowing that it's cannon, and happens right before the already depressing final scene of the anime, with her being alone, devasted on that moon... That's top 3 saddest anime moments, number 1 for me.
Seeing this then realizing that her on the moon was her laying David to rest and starting to let go of her grief. Edgerunners aren't remembered by how they lived, but how they die. Lucy will forever remember David on how he lived.
Night City remembers people for how they died and not what they did before that. It's safe to say David easily goes down as one of the most legendary cyberpunks in Night City. He battled MilTech, Arasaka, and it took Adam Smasher to finally put him down. The best part? David died human.
@@shawarma_devastator What he means is that they are remembered in the merc community, but never forget that it's quite niche in this universe (despite what we may think, since all stories and games plunge you into the merc life). And even then, if you're cool being a legend for like-minded people, in the end what remains really ? Sometimes they will talk about your story, some famous bar had a drink with your name, and that's pretty much it. All those legends in the end didn't die to become legends (they lived their whole life for that, but their final moments were about other things), they tried to achieve something (destroy Arasaka, save their girlfriend from Arasaka, whatever) but succeeded only in an insignificant way and died in the process. What Silverhand did to Arasaka had close to 0 impact, it was just some kind of a middle finger to the ones he judged responsible for shitty Night City and the death of Alt. As for David, he saved Lucy yes, but at this point when he explains to her how she will be able to achieve her dream, does he realize there's no point in that anymore ? It's clear the Moon trip was just escapism for a very lonely and frightened girl. The moment Lucy and David became a couple, the moon trip became David's dream while the only thing she really cared about was David. In the final scene she does not object to David rambling about the moon certainly because she doesn't want to put her sorrow on him, or because she respects the way he wants to die. But the ending credit is quite clear about what happens between this scene and the final scene on the moon. That's a law of nature in Night City, you never win against the house, you can only make marginal gains that you will soon lose and much more if you insist.
I feel the need to rewatch this ED every few days. It is so beautiful. And I suppose that rewatching it helps me process all the thoughts and emotions the show has given me.
After finished all Cybeprunk 2077, Cybeprunk:Edgerunners anime and even Phantom Liberty storyline... That's song make me cry and i don't know why, because the main plot of V in game is over and we never get back again to old cyberpunk world we all knew. Or i remember the touching story between Lucy & David and the gang (Rebecca, Maine, Kivi, Falco and etc.) The song still affects me and I am grateful for these emotions to her and the anime developers, game, voice actor's, composers, all of them. And all of that wouldn't have been possible without them! It’s amazing how one world can give so many emotions and impressions, and it’s not the friendliest or even cruel for regular human.
After finishing the anime I feel like the song is David talking to Lucy saying I don't care if I die as long your dream of going to the moon comes true
The saddest and most painful part of the ending credits is at 1:15 The way she is pressing hard on her chest from all the pain and screaming... I just can't man... Shit is too depressing The amount of emotional trauma is insane
They will finally feel the flames Flames that run down through my veins I will make this city burn We’re not planning to return Trying so hard to be free To make you see what I see Hold on to your wishes If you can’t hold on to me Forgive me for letting you down Forgive me for letting you down again Guess I’m not strong enough Right now Forgive me for letting you down Forgive me for letting you down again I guess I’m not strong enough Right now Let you down Oh, let you down Let you down Oh, let you down
But it make more sense before the last episode. Cause on the moon she smiles to the sun. We can interpret her smile differently but I don't think that after this smile she would go back to NC and continue life in permanent depression. She either ended her line on the moon, or she was strong enough to continue living her life.
Me gusto el final, no se fue al típico power del prota si no que fue directo a lo que tenía que pasar, David no tenía chances y fue derrotado fácilmente. Pero no sin salvar a Lucy
I think this is what happens just before the last episode, falco and lucy manage to scape and hide, but now she is alone, everyone she cared about is dead, the acts of sadness and depression can be seen in every footage of this ending. Then falco gives her the money and tells her davids last wish, as seen in the last episode. You already know the rest, Lucy goes alone to the moon and this holy masterpiece ends. But what did it cost.
I love the walking animation at the start it feels familiar as if I have seen this exact animation somewhere else for music op/ed. Would love to see a version where we only see this walking animation in a loop bc it just fits the ed so perfectly
Just finished watching. David didn’t go down the path his mom wanted for him, but I think he still made her proud. He saved Lucy and got her to the moon. Cryin in the club rn. Also rip Dorio, Maine, and Becca 😞
Lucy distanced herself from David trying to avoid the innevitable, instead of spending all the time possible with him. The only thing that helped her keep going in life was the hope of going to the moon someday, but when she met David she was fine with just staying at his side, chasing her dream wasn't so important and if they did go to the moon is because she wanted to cherish the moment going to the moon with his company, but after she lost David, fulfilling her dream felt empty, she wasn't happy when she went to the moon. Her life was chasing that dream, now that she made it and David is dead, she has to find another reason to keep living.
"The world is a horrible place that will never foster or encourage love but that love while it lasts, and it will end, is the most important thing of all, the only thing with any hope of affecting positive change" -hazel on kite 2021
When I started watching the show I thought the scenes from the outro were from Lucy’s past; Only after the final episode I realized they were scenes from after the show...
That moment when you realize that the Opening Credits and Ending Credits showed us how the story would start and end. Started with David, ended with Lucy.
I feel like Lucy is the one singing this, and considering she is still alive at the end of the series, the song lyrics kinda give me hope that she might come back in a future Cyberpunk DLC or game to finally "make the city burn" as revenge for David and for letting him down when she wasnt strong enough.
while i like this idea, it is unfortunately incorrect. there are 3 lines that tie it to David. The reference to fire correlates with the intro that is just about David, the line to follow your dream since you can't have me, and the line "not strong enough," which was David's entire reason for taking more and more chrome, and putting himself in more and more danger, and yet it still wasnt enough to be happy together.
Dude, I don't think Lucy is alive, because you can see in that episode where they see how much is the ticket to the moon and there you see that it says "one way trip" which implies that People who go to the moon are people at the end of their lives, for example elderly people or people with incurable diseases like cancer, so I believe she died at the end of the series. (Sorry if I wrote some Wrong things or something, it was all by Google translator)
@@MotaMcc she's still alive, there's a facility they have to live in up there for the rest of their lives though, kinda depressing when you think about it Though, at least she isn't tied to night city
So…I watched it after days of people talking about it and I was like “sure why not” and it’s an experience that is absolutely amazing yet so heartbreaking I don’t think I ever wanna feel the way I did on the last few chapters specially the last one.
I loved the game since launch and i still remember seeing announcement of them making an anime, glad after waiting 2 years it was all worth it..... but at what cost? 😭
Damn, I was born too late to ride the first train, and too early to see the cars fly but at the right time to enjoy this gem called Cyberpunk Egderunners lol I love this final credits sequence is... perfection.
I like to imagine the credits for the show is actually a rough idea of what Lucy did after escaping arasaka in the final episode. She ran, wanders the streets, maybe lights up a smoke at one point to try and calm her nerves at all, she gets home and screams in the shower over the pain she has just endured the last 24 hours and the loss sinks in, but in the final shot she sees the Moon and it continues to be a reminder of her dream that David and the others fought so hard to let her have.
0:44 idk if im reaching but when they say "hold onto your dreams" with the moon visual and then "if you can't hold onto me" while she's smoking rlly hit different... maybe it was supposed to call back to David from the beginning of the series and how she couldn't keep the guy she fell in love with, like I feel the sync was incredibly intentional here
That opening shot of the lights turning on in the alleyway along with the music, i love it. It gives off so many vibes and reminds me of leaving a club in downtown LA late at night, maybe with some mixed emotions thrown in 😅
If only it would have went differently after David snapped back when he rescued Lucy, he even came back when the Ripperdoc said after that last shot there is no coming back, when he met up with Becca, smiling, Lucy in his arms saying "Hey guys, we made it", if only it would have went differently in those next few minutes...
He should have said yes to going full cyber personally, sure no sex or emotions but he'd be alive, and there would probably be some anime bullshit where he feels love for Lucy still

Oh, my love ... Love ... Love ...
That's the only cliche thing about this anime though. It's that classic tv trope where the girl wishes for her guy to return home alive but he ends up in a tragic and heroic way while doing everything for the sake of her. I wish they changed that dialogue or let David live to subvert the expectation. It was amazing but would've been better if it wasn't hinted almost aggressively.
She left night city and went to the moon for one way trip. There she met another netrunner and married. All dark memories of her past remained in night city. She started a new life. There are cities on the moon. People out there are mostly friendly...
The Fact of this Ending credit is lucy walk back to home after david die shee smoke because she want forget about david dead but she can’t she can not deny the truth is david her lover her soulmate her boyfrind is dead so she cryinggg that make me emotional damnge😭😭😭
I feel the ending would have been happier regardless if it was them together. If only they held onto eachother hard enough to live together, or to die together. At least their souls wouldn't drift apart. She shouldn't have taken the dream David was trying to give her, because slowly throughout she realized her dream was less about going to the moon, and more about having him there.
Both Maine and David were strong enough to fight cyberpsychosis and take one last look at the people they loved before their deaths.

"A happy ending? Wrong city wrong people V"
I feel the need to rewatch this ED every few days. It is so beautiful. And I suppose that rewatching it helps me process all the thoughts and emotions the show has given me.
This hits differently after finishing the anime
Poor Lucy.
No Netflix, I don't want to skip!!
There's only one thing that the entire Cyberpunk community can say after seeing this and it's two words and two words only: It hurts... 💔
The saddest and most painful part of the ending credits is at 1:15
The way she is pressing hard on her chest from all the pain and screaming...
I just can't man... Shit is too depressing
The amount of emotional trauma is insane
They will finally feel the flames
Flames that run down through my veins
I will make this city burn

To make you see what I see
Hold on to your wishes
If you can’t hold on to me
Forgive me for letting you down
Forgive me for letting you down again
Guess I’m not strong enough
Right now
Forgive me for letting you down
Forgive me for letting you down again
I guess I’m not strong enough
Right now
Let you down
Oh, let you down
Let you down
Oh, let you down
Lmao i got confused when I didnt see "my love" part
@@Ha-ce6zt no is Lucy to David
Music: Let you down by Dawid Podsiadło
all the things we see in this credits actually describes lucy's life after last episode
But it make more sense before the last episode. Cause on the moon she smiles to the sun. We can interpret her smile differently but I don't think that after this smile she would go back to NC and continue life in permanent depression. She either ended her line on the moon, or she was strong enough to continue living her life.
@@TheDimir maybe I lied a bit about "last episode". I should say "right after battle with smasher"
@@РамазанДжекшембаев oh, ok then.
Man the ending credit is so damn smooth, even with the music
I love the walking animation at the start it feels familiar as if I have seen this exact animation somewhere else for music op/ed. Would love to see a version where we only see this walking animation in a loop bc it just fits the ed so perfectly
Just finished watching. David didn’t go down the path his mom wanted for him, but I think he still made her proud. He saved Lucy and got her to the moon. Cryin in the club rn.
Also rip Dorio, Maine, and Becca 😞
What sad is in the ending lucy realise her dream wasn't the moon anymore but to be by David side 😭
It's been so long and I still have cyberdepression from the end of this work of art that not for nothing won the anime of the year award. 😢😢😢
After watching episode one: “Idk who this chick is yet but why she depressed and screaming”
After watching episode ten: “oh it all makes sense now” :(
"The world is a horrible place that will never foster or encourage love but that love while it lasts, and it will end, is the most important thing of all, the only thing with any hope of affecting positive change"

If i guess this outro must be after episode 10 because lucy depressed losing david. This is just my theory
Yes... it is
At the end she decides to go to the moon
Its really cool that the ending song is literally the ending. Never seen any show do that.
When I started watching the show I thought the scenes from the outro were from Lucy’s past; Only after the final episode I realized they were scenes from after the show...
Me llena de sentimientos este ending así como este anime, ojalá más series de este estilo
These end credits hit even harder when you realize it’s just Lucy going home and mourning after losing her soulmate.
even after 2 years this still hits you right in the heart
Bruh, this shit hurts after the end
That moment when you realize that the Opening Credits and Ending Credits showed us how the story would start and end. Started with David, ended with Lucy.
1:18 Ghost in the Shell reference ❤️
It's hard to make a Cyberpunk anime without references to the first cyberpunk anime :)
But I agree, cool detail. Ghost in the Shell is one love ❤
Love this Let you down version, specially the beginning.
Mi ending favorito, me hace recordar lo bien que lo pase viendo este anime, un final que me dejó pensando semanas
This show hurt me so bad that I haven't even been able to play 2077. It's been months.

@@geargraphic2620 you're right. I'm gonna crush Adam smasher. "THIS IS FOR REBECCA YOU BORGE FUCK!"
@@jacoblandry6714 I believe in you
I feel like Lucy is the one singing this, and considering she is still alive at the end of the series, the song lyrics kinda give me hope that she might come back in a future Cyberpunk DLC or game to finally "make the city burn" as revenge for David and for letting him down when she wasnt strong enough.
while i like this idea, it is unfortunately incorrect. there are 3 lines that tie it to David.
@@MotaMcc she's still alive, there's a facility they have to live in up there for the rest of their lives though, kinda depressing when you think about it
Though, at least she isn't tied to night city
The lyrics basically describe Lucy's state of mind. It is like this anime has Easter Eggs of sadness in it.
There should be a full version of this edit of the song. It's much more acoustic and melancholic in my opinion. I'd cop.
Stay Frosty and save the world in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners David And your are my favorite character in the whole show :)
So…I watched it after days of people talking about it and I was like “sure why not” and it’s an experience that is absolutely amazing yet so heartbreaking I don’t think I ever wanna feel the way I did on the last few chapters specially the last one.
Damn I just realized the end credits are Lucy getting back home after the last episode, before going to the moon
I loved the game since launch and i still remember seeing announcement of them making an anime, glad after waiting 2 years it was all worth it..... but at what cost? 😭
Damn, I was born too late to ride the first train, and too early to see the cars fly but at the right time to enjoy this gem called Cyberpunk Egderunners lol I love this final credits sequence is... perfection.
she got that "you look lonely, i can fix that" ahh type of color scheme
This ending has a differnt feeling when it’s the end of the last episode
the end got me cryin :(
Why was it so hard to find the outro.
Its so well done and it fits the Song so well
Probably because a lot of videos for it have been taken down for copyright, or nudity.
@@ziletic. trueee. but the trailer is fine🤥 hahha
0:44 idk if im reaching but when they say "hold onto your dreams" with the moon visual and then "if you can't hold onto me" while she's smoking rlly hit different... maybe it was supposed to call back to David from the beginning of the series and how she couldn't keep the guy she fell in love with, like I feel the sync was incredibly intentional here
Far cry 3 needs an anime adaptation like this
Thought the ending sounded a bit different compared to the official ver
Beautiful show; can't really describe it as anything else other than that...
The animation in this Outro is insane...
Incredibly tragic. This is her after the last episode when they escaped Smasher with Falco.
this transition here from a slow beat to a bit faster beat is handled very good It’s from 0:59 to 1:11
No way you could watch an episode withou this OUTRO let alone an entire season!! ....Epic!!
At the end of episode 1, you think this song is from David's POV, but after episode 10 you realize this song is from Lucy's POV.
They created the most beautiful ending credit just for people to skip it
I will never forget a thing in edgerunners💔

I feel the ending would have been happier regardless if it was them together. If only they held onto eachother hard enough to live together, or to die together.
