How to fix Paper Feed Problem on Most Epson Stylus Photo Printer Top Tray Pick Up Issue R280 R290

- If your Epson printer is a top loading type, paper misdeed or no paper when there is paper in the tray is a common issue. A few things can cause a printer to bot pick up paper. Use the method in this video to clean the roller and the feeder area. It is a simple fix and will save you lots of frustration!

I am so impressed. My paper has been slipping for ages until it eventually wouldn't load at all, even with a little push the help the paper it just went straight though without printing. Today I watched your video. Luckily I had some of the alcohol you mentioned. I cleaned the roller as you suggested, waited two minutes and then went to print. As I said I'm so impressed, it worked straight away. Thank you so much.
Did not expect this to work at all, but gave it a go because there are so many comments saying it worked. AND IT WORKED! I cut a little square from an antibacterial hand wipe & stapled to a bit of card. This has saved me so much time, energy, money, and may have saved a project I'm working on to a deadline. Our L3110 was doing this for months and I was so lazy searching for a solution until now. So the roller is the culprit. Got a cloth and alcohol, cleaned it and now it's fixed. Thanks!

Finally something working! Paper loaded but blocked half way. Alcohol wipe on the roller and my Epson XP 445 is working again. Thank you 🙏

I didn't have an alcohol swab at the moment. I just wetted the end of my paper... This worked unbelievably 👏
My Epson Stylus Photo R200 decided it didn't want to feed 290gsm photo paper anymore after many years of reliable service. I tried stapling an Isopropyl pad to a piece of card as suggested here, let it dry and it now feeds perfectly. Thanks a lot for this tip.

I can't believe it! These solutions worked on my R300. Out of the blue, the paper feeder roller stopped grasping my paper correctly. I used the alcohol wipe paper-clipped to a business card suggestion and voila!!!! Problem solved. :) Thank you.

Great. I was really getting frustrated with my Stylus R380 printer that suddenly started failing to feed paper. I wasted over 2 hours trying to find what broke before I turned to the internet. This simple task put me back in the pink. All is well now. Thanks.

Although I have an epson L455, this helped me. There was a bread bag tie ( plastic coated ) wire which was slightly beyond the field of vision, however looking obliquely and carefully helped in spotting it.

just wanted to say thanks. Seems so obvious to check the feeder area, but my paper was intermittently not feeding properly - i took a look down the slot and found a NERF DART !! ... what a surprise!

Epson R2400 wouldn't feed any paper. Cleaning the rollers with alcohol wipes fixed it! Many thanks!

Thanks, sorted paper misfeed issues on an Epson R3000. Moral of the story is take the paper out of the hopper and close the cover when not in use to stop dust getting inside.

It's the exact same method on an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and 3880 too. Basically the same feed mechanism and the same part that needs cleaning every now and again. It is especially noticeable when you print on glossy paper where more traction is needed.

It worked ! Didn't look dirty but tried alcohol glasses wipe, 3 attempts, and ta da paper pick up and print. Thanks

My Epson printer is actually scraping or even perforating paper as it prints-has anyone any ideas on this-is it a defective roller or print carriage issue ? It leaves smears or banding but the jets are not clogged, I did all the usual maintenance. Something is grinding away and damaging the paper itself (or printing on CDs-it chews off bits of the surface of the discs !!)

Found a spring when I took my r380 apart to see why it wasn't working. Is there a spring in the back of the part that the paper rests on? This is a very large spring and I didn't think it came out of the printer.
Sometimes, it can be part of the paper level sensor
