My Epson Stylus Photo R200 decided it didn't want to feed 290gsm photo paper anymore after many years of reliable service. I tried stapling an Isopropyl pad to a piece of card as suggested here, let it dry and it now feeds perfectly. Thanks a lot for this tip.
Thanks for this video and advice - I had same problem with a Epson P600 printer - the printer would not take paper in to print as it stated there was no paper in the tray - but there was! I did find after pushing the front tray that there was a mobile phone cable attachment had dropped into the printer - it was hidden until I pushed the front tray ... and it shot out!! However even after removing this obstruction the problem remained. Based on the advice given in your video - I did clean the rubber wheel with an alcohol wipe (stapled to my business card) and then I unplugged the printer and left it for 30 mins plus. Hey Presto when I tried again later the paper fed through as normal. So thanks!
Our L3110 was doing this for months and I was so lazy searching for a solution until now. So the roller is the culprit. Got a cloth and alcohol, cleaned it and now it's fixed. Thanks!
I can't believe it! These solutions worked on my R300. Out of the blue, the paper feeder roller stopped grasping my paper correctly. I used the alcohol wipe paper-clipped to a business card suggestion and voila!!!! Problem solved. :) Thank you.

Although I have an epson L455, this helped me. There was a bread bag tie ( plastic coated ) wire which was slightly beyond the field of vision, however looking obliquely and carefully helped in spotting it.
just wanted to say thanks. Seems so obvious to check the feeder area, but my paper was intermittently not feeding properly - i took a look down the slot and found a NERF DART !! ... what a surprise!

Omg I could kiss you right now!!!! I have had the most difficult time trying to figure out the problem with my epson eco tank printer that was feeding only partially and would get caught in the printer feeding only one side of the paper. Now I tried everything including taking it apart and cleaned the print heads manually and after that fiasco still was not feeding in right. I was just about to give up when I come across this and tried it. I took an alcohol swab and stapled it to a business card then needed a lil more length so I stapled another business card to the first one and ran it through some paper feed cycles and it cleaned that rubber feeder piece and then I also did a deep power cleaning cycle with epson utility and finally…. Finally after months of dealing with this damn problem, it’s now working and I printed successfully again. My problem was that I converted my ecotank for sublimation straight from the unboxing and so I couldn’t exactly call customer support cause my warranty was void. So, thank you thank you thank you. You have no idea how I am so grateful! Genius.
Thanks, sorted paper misfeed issues on an Epson R3000. Moral of the story is take the paper out of the hopper and close the cover when not in use to stop dust getting inside.
It's the exact same method on an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and 3880 too. Basically the same feed mechanism and the same part that needs cleaning every now and again. It is especially noticeable when you print on glossy paper where more traction is needed.

My Epson printer is actually scraping or even perforating paper as it prints-has anyone any ideas on this-is it a defective roller or print carriage issue ? It leaves smears or banding but the jets are not clogged, I did all the usual maintenance. Something is grinding away and damaging the paper itself (or printing on CDs-it chews off bits of the surface of the discs !!)
Can someone help me, I just got a epson printer and at the end of the printout it pushes the paper off the rails like if it finishes but it hasn’t so it keeps painting on nothing
Found a spring when I took my r380 apart to see why it wasn't working. Is there a spring in the back of the part that the paper rests on? This is a very large spring and I didn't think it came out of the printer.
If you have an Epson R285 or R2/R3 series printer and the paper is not feeding through or coming out wonky there is a plastic white roller, in between where the paper goes, manually rotate it gently to the opposite side and hey presto the paper feed issue will have been resolved.

Hi. You may need to change paper settings on the computer you are sending the print job from.

My printer model is Epson L805. Any alternative for alcohol?
it's a shitty printer, throw it away and buy a Canon. Cleaning a printer roller each 10 papers is not worth it
