How to treat common fungal diseases like blight, septoria, rust and black spot in the garden 🍅🥒🍊

  • In this video I wanted to show you how to identify and treat black spot, rust & fungal diseases that are happening throughout the garden. So it doesn't spread to other plants throughout your garden like it has already started in mine. I hope this video helps you to identify and treat any fungus or mold issues arising in your garden. It spreads really fast and all your pruners, bottles and garden supplies need to be wiped down with peroxide, bleach or alchohol after trimming each branch so you don't spread fungus/mold spores around to healthy leaves and other plants.
    Please remember to like and subscribe if you would like to see more videos to come from "Stacey here we grow again". As always, Thank you for watching and Happy planting!

      Right lol. I feel your pain. Blackspot is devious and hard to get rid of. We fight so many pests and diseases growing here in Central Florida. Have you tried 100% organic, cold pressed Neem oil? It works wonders if the hydrogen peroxide doesn't take care of it😉

      Hi there. Your so welcome! I have changed a few of my methods over the years but I still use neem oil and hydrogen peroxide to treat pests and diseases. If it was me, I would treat in the evening when the sun starts to go down this way there's no chance of the leaves getting burned or the sun hitting the leaves with solution on them. I always try to treat in the evening just because of the risk of burning😉 Summer is so tough here in florida. Remember to test spray in an inconspicuous area first, somewhere on the lower leaves and wait 24hrs to make sure the type of plant can handle the neem oil. If no signs of burning, you know your safe to spray the entire plant down. Some plants can be a bit sensitive to it😉 I'm always here if you need anything! Wishing you the best of luck on your growing adventures 🌱

    Drill holes in the bottom center of the pots and add more drainage rock and the plant will be less susceptible to root rot and fungus ….. I noticed most black round pots don’t have holes near the center of the bottom , they only have drain holes on the side and the middle of the pot stays overly wet and soaked and rots the roots

    for H202 soil treatment it's 1 part H202 to 2 parts water. 1:2 ratio or 1:3 ratio for a smaller potted plant. 1 teaspoon to 1 cup of water for bacterial, fungus, viral infection for leaves.

    Hi.
    What strength of hydrogen peroxide are you using ? Thanks in advance.

    • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
      @StaceyHerewegrowagain  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi, I do want to mention that I stopped using hydrogen peroxide because the 100% cold pressed Neem oil seems to do the trick for all the fungus, mildew and most pest problems (like aphids, spidermites, thrips etc). But I also use a Bt thuricide for any caterpillars, worms, moths/whiteflies. These 2 products work great together and I haven't had to use the hydrogen peroxide in a very long time. Just make sure the Neem oil is 100% cold pressed if you get it. It works a lot better than the Neem extract. As far as the peroxide goes, I really can't remember what I used, it was so long ago and I really don't need it anymore with all the other treatments I do. I believe I used the 3% peroxide

      @928Lily 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@StaceyHerewegrowagain do you add anything to the neem oil? And how often do you use it on diseased plants?

    • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
      @StaceyHerewegrowagain  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The neem oil should be mixed exactly as it states on the products label. The reason I say this is because there are so many different brands of Cold pressed Neem oil out there, each requiring their own directions. I use the dyna-gro brand or the NimBioSys Neem oil which seems to work best. I use it as a preventative, once every week to 2 weeks... When I have a pest problem, I treat once every few days, until it's gone. Remember that neem oil is an oil and it doesn't mix well with water. Using a non scented dish soap to emulsify the oil and water together is recommended. I use 1 to 2tsp dawn dish soap with, 2.5 tsp neem oil per gallon of water. I shake it up and mix it thoroughly, until the neem oil is incorporated all the way. If you don't mix the neem oil enough it can severely burn your leaves. Remember to never treat in direct sunlight because it can burn your plants significantly. When treating, I shake the mixed solution frequently, to reincorporate the neem oil and water together, it'll start separating after sitting for a few minutes.. It's important to keep the solution mixed together as your treating so it doesn't clump up on your leaves and cause burn spots.

    • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
      @StaceyHerewegrowagain  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's good but you have to watch the acidity levels because it can make your soil alkaline especially using rain water along with it. It also holds a lot of moisture which is good for a lot of moisture loving plants and outdoors, but using it inside I kind of had to stop because it attracts too many gnats so you have to watch the watering. Otherwise it's really good and fertile

    • @StaceyHerewegrowagain
      @StaceyHerewegrowagain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be a few things.. maybe underwatering, sunburn, nitrogen or nutrient burn from feeding too much, pests in the soil messing with the roots, it could be the soil if its not potted in the correct growing medium etc. . its hard to say without seeing it. I usually start with eliminating and fixing one thing at a time. See if it works for the next few days and if there's no improvement go onto the next thing you think it might be. With some experience and trial and error you'll be a pro in no time! I hope this helps a bit. Let me know if you need anything else.
