This Live Performance Version is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT" The BEST version that was ever performed for the Auctioneer song. I'm sure LVD would agree with me. Too Bad you don't tour the East Coast There are some Eastern Venues here & there that you would feel right at home! HINT HINT NC, SC, Western Pa, West V., ..........CMON DAVE (You Are MOST WELCOME) !!! BRAVO BRAVO
Dave Stamey is great and this is in my top 10 favorite songs. I'm a metalhead but love old-school country. Don't understand the dislikes on this video. This dude is talented!!!
Any metal head who loves old school country is a good man in my book. I have a son who’s a metal head but he’s only tolerant of old school country: likes Merle Haggard but anybody who knows music admires Merle Haggard
Leroy wrote this about his Uncle Ray Sims who was from Sedalia, Missouri. It starts out "There was a boy from Arkansas who wouldn't listen to his Ma" so I asked Leroy why he moved Ray from Sedalia, Missouri to Arkansas in the song. He looked at me and said "Billy, can you think of anything that rhymes with Missouri." Good for trivia night.
Ive liked Dave Stamey many years ever since I picked up one of his old cassettes ( yes cassettes ) out at Calico ghost town in California. He has a voice that just makes ya want to sing along with him. Great entertainer and person.
Lol, Arabian Mules! I love your music! Don't hold it against me , I grew up with a bunch of Arabs! Horses that is! Thank You so much for your music, and your lifestyle. Our country sure does need both right now! God Bless!
Great job. Hearing the song immediately brought back memories of listening to the Starlight Rambles (a very popular regional country band in the 70s). I forgot to add someone a few years ago uploaded most of the songs The Starlight Rambles recorded and if you do a search you can find their extended version of this song. Sadly we lost one of the founding members of the group this past year.
Ohhhh Gosh! I`m an ESL teacher here in Southern Brazil and I love to show Auctioneers to my student, looking for videos about Auction School I`ve just got to this one, absolutely amazing!!!! Love it soooo much!
Hello!!! How are you doing today, please pardon me for intruding into your privacy but I just wanted to know if you’re a fan ? Have a great day… Stay Safe!
@@martinkennedy974 hey Martin! I love the auctioneers taking hehehe, unfortunate i can't even understand sometimes. I lived in Houston in 2011 for six months where I got shortly in contact with Rodeo culture. Here in the south of Brazil we share the same culture but the big ones happen in Middle East region and São Paulo country side. From your question I assume you're a big fan right?
@@lua5589 Hey! That’s very good to know, I just can’t stop myself from listening to this song anytime am alone! If I may ask which of all their songs is your favourite? Have a great day… Stay Safe
my cousin played the 45 record of this song for me sometime in the late 50's, and I managed to talk him out of it. I was about 5 0or 6, and he was 10 years my senior. Someplace, I still have that worn out, scratched up old 45, and have listened to this song, one version or another, hundreds of times over the last 65 years or so. Great version. Well done. I missed the tag where he goes on to instruct the workers to bring in the next lot (as on the original), but still... just excellent rendition. Don't know if you shared this with the crowd, but in one of LeRoy's versions online, he shares that this was a song about an actual person (his cousin?) who lived out all he described in the song. new sub. :)
Awesome job covering an iconic song! His version was a little different than the iconic Leroy Van Dyke, which is what makes it so cool! Just like real auctioneers…no 2 have an identical bid-calling style
Excellent. I only knew Gordon Lightfoot's version of this song and assumed he had written it but it turns out he didn't. This version is right up there.
I,ve got to hand it to this guy , he,s a pleasant character & good entertainer , but the auctioneers here go just as fast as he does at speed , all day , for real & you dare not even scratch your nose for fear of accidentally buying something . The ring becomes their kingdom ( you turn round first so he can,t see you do it ). Those of you in britain , take a day at Melton , Newark , Ludlow , or wherever you are but just be on your guard , he or she,s already watching you . Real entertainment .

at first I'm like, I love his voice and how he sang the song (meaning the melody being different), but he's not that good at the auctioneering. then towards the end of the song I ate my words
That’s the side of America I love . He’s not only singing the song , he’s a fantastic entertainer too ! Full marks from Ireland 🇮🇪
Well howdy from sunny california
...and from Switzerland, what nice memories this generates 🙏🫶🤠

A great song about selling a mad horse. Was that in Drogheda?🤣🤣🤣

Wow. First time seeing this guy. He is highly skilled at comedy. Has a touch of Johny Carson and the Smothers Brothers. Great ending.

My absolute favorite version of this song! Awesome job Dave!
I grew up listening to this song ❤️
Brilliant job. Love this song.❤❤

Absolutely beautiful and very beautifully done!!❤️👏✝️👍🌹🛐💓💕🇺🇸🎆🌄
I'm from Windsor Missouri about 30 minutes South of his Hometown I've grew up with this song. Not many kids my age know this song

Thank you, I've been looking for a video of this song for a couple years, suddenly it showed up in my suggestions.
You’re welcome!
What an ending!!!! Great cover! You paid homage to the original, but you REALLY made it your own song!
Absolutely briliant!!! Thank you Sir!!
Pure showmanship.. Respect... all the way around.. entertainment.. at its best
You are very good my man. I was stumping my feet
Outstanding, Really enjoyed that.
Amazing...Sung and played so well.
So effortlessly great man

The wife and I saw him in Sonora, Ca. It was a great time at the Opera Hall.
That's more than just pretty good. Excellent. I reckon he could do a Dennis Weaver impersonation as well. "There ye go".
wow amazing, you're great.
I love this song back then and Mr. Stamey does a beautiful job. But his best is BRONC BALLET. 😂. So TRUE as you listen to it 💝🙏🏼
I’ll have to check that one out
Love His Guitar playing 👌👍

Awesome job 👏
A great job, and more importantly, a strong finish.
One of my favourite songs. Pity same can’t be said for this ‘artist’
Coolest cowboy entertainer ever. Followed by Juni Fisher.
That was amazing!
Right on. Great stuff.

I agree with ya. Kinda off at the beginning, then BAM knocks it out of the barn
This is a fine cover, but if you like this song look up Leroy Van Dyke’s original on this forum
I learned this song when I was 12
wow
...still learning 😂

Imagine Johnny Cash doing this really at speed , good music .
He is plainly …”awesome”!!!😊😊😊

Discovered Dave at the same concert series about 12 years ago, so it was nice to be able to see him again!
Love me some Dave Stamey!
Outstanding song, I personally find 1.25 speed is a bit closer to the original.
He is good.
He's very good singing this song
Yes he is
Yeah,You nailed it. For your next song Eric Johnson”Cliffs of Dover”Then to win Dragonforces “Through the fire and Flames”
Have the sheet music autographed by Leroy Van Dyke.
17 dislikes. are they nuts
Mike Ellis trust me they are nuts. I’ve seen him do it a lot better than here when he’s serious. Love his songs to
No...they lost the auctions !
He’s amazing
Awesome
Very Good!
Blessings
Excellent!
The Best
Sold to the man with the brown hat!
Great job.
I was wonderin' if he was gonna speed it up.
❤
I live in arkansas
Gorden Lightfoot covered this song............I thought it was his........
Yeehaw!
can you repeat that.?lol
Fun!
Wow that voice
I'm stuck at Arabian mules, they should have good looks. But that's about all.
You obviously don't know Arabians. Both Arabians and mules are smart and have tremendous stamina. It would be an awesome cross, and beautiful as well.
The only thing he's missing is Van Dyke's trill on "who'll."
