The fact that your commentary at the end is about F13 and finding out Jason's Mom was the killer is the funniest thing about this entire reaction to me. The whole thing was great, but that is the icing on the cake.

Kevin Williamson has said if he’d had any idea the series might continue beyond his intended three films, there’s no way in hell he would have killed Randy here.
Good thing he did, though.
It was a shocker they’d kill off such a popular character and in such brutal fashion.
And it really serves the movie upon rewatch, knowing Randy is about to punk Billy’s memory and Mommy’s gonna go ballistic haha
We could have used Randy so effectively for all these films. He would have kept us up to date on horror, comic relief and ultimately in the 7th movie died heroically.

Completely unrelated to this review, I just wanted to thank you both for your reactions. Oddly and hilariously I watched your kung fu panda reaction and it finally gave me the push to take up martial arts in my 30s. Within 7 months I’m an orange belt and took 3rd in my first competition. Thanks again guys for doing what you do!

Such a great opening scene and I always enjoyed the side characters in this one. I'm still mad that they killed Randy off, but at least the writer admits that he regrets it.
Also, Scream is easily the most consistent horror series.

I can't watch that opening without thinking about the other people in the cinema. I mean you go out to see a horror film, are having a great time. Then you realize someone was just murdered in front of you and find out there was a second murder in the toilets. You'd have to be wondering did they do something to make the killer target them or could it have been you if you'd decided to use the toilet before the film.

Somehow the F13 and Jason ending made so much sense in regards to the Scream 2 movie, and I loved every moment of it
Fun Fact! In the scene when they cops are at the sorority house and they all rush out to go see what’s up, you can see a dog in the scene. That dog was brought to set by Liev Schreiber, the guy who played Cotton Weary, who insisted that the dog be used in the scene.

Honestly this and the first one are my favorites of the franchise. I mean, I love the recent ones, but these ones have the magic touch beyond the 90s era that you just can't quite replicate.

I was *pissed* when they killed Randy.
When they show that clip from the movie 18:28, there's actually a bit of a joke in there. In the first film they're talking about if they made a movie about it and Neve Campbell (Sidney) says something along the lines of "Knowing my luck I'd be played by Tori Spelling" which is exactly who plays her in the clip they show.
Fun Fact: Derek and Hallie were also going to be the killers, I don't remember if they were with Mickey or Mrs. Loomis, but I know the script was leaked, and they had to change it up because of that.
One of the leaks had everybody trying to kill Sydney and it ends with her and Cotton falling off the stage not telling the audience if she survived.
This my favorite Scream. Its a great follow up and Sidney & Gale look incredible.

The last "official" Nightmare on Elm Street movie that's just one giant clusterphoque (spelled in French Canadian for algorithm reasons) of commentary/references/deconstructions/low-key parodies/homages to the franchise as a whole.

Originally it was supposed to be the boyfriend, the roommate and the two head sorority clones but the script leaked during filming, so they had to change everything. The boyfriend is the puffy kid from Stand by Me who is married to present day Mystic from the X-Men.

Just to let you know there are screenings of certain movies that are like the beginning of the movie minus the bloodshed, lol. One of the longest running, especially here in LA, is the midnight showings of Rocky Horror Picture Show where they do have performers come out in costume and reenact scenes while the movie is playing behind them. The more involved ones have the audience bring in propa to throw or use during certain key points in the movie.
Like “The Room”. 😅. I went to a screening in Philly a few years back. It was wild.
The first one is iconic but I have to say I usually rewatch this one more, it has Sarah Michelle Gellar in it which is always a bonus 🤣 I just find it slightly more entertaining but I love all the Scream movies, although I can’t say I love the newest one I don’t dislike it

In the 90’s the opening scene, movie theaters we’re like this. It wasn’t uncommon until The Matrix and Columbine happened.

I also have to say that almost everyone I see hates Cotton, whilst I agree he’s a bit of a dick I can’t help but love him 🤣 he cracks me up a lot throughout the movie and I have to say the fact that Liev plays him helps 🤣👀 and I can see his pov even if he goes about it the wrong way

Finally somebody else who gets it Cotton was going about it wrong so it comes off as creepy. I get Sidney just wants to move past it but, Cotton was literally already famous which is why the case was even so big so he lost everything being falsely accused, and Sidney definitely could’ve did an interview since she was the one basically tricked into accusing him in the first place just like her he just wanted his life back.

The only time I had a similar experience to the opening of this movie was when my older brother and I went to the opening of X-Men in 2000. I was only 10 at the time but I clearly remember the whole theatre was going nuts.

When my friend and I went to see this movie, it was a weekday matinee so not very crowded. During CaCee's death scene, my friend and I were yelling :"KICK HIS ASS BUFFY! GET HIM! KICK HIS ASS!" Everyone laughed. And everyone in that theater yelled at the screen at some point. So yeah, movies can be very interactive. Of course, I did Rocky Horror Picture Show for years, so had a different view on them! I loved them! Oh! And also at Scream 2,, we were yelling "NO! NOT RANDY! NOT RANDY!" I also remember hearing Jamie Kennedy wanted a very bloody death for Randy. (And don't count Randy out just yet!) Oh! Did you know people were signing up to get killed in the sequels? That's why there are so many well known young actors like Ted Sutherland, Jerry O'Connell and Sarah Michelle Gellar. 💙

Still the best sequel in my opinion but not as good as the first one. Excellent movie though. Plus I think all of us enjoy seeing Jada get killed. I doubt the guys will ever read this considering it's a few weeks old and there's already hundreds and hundreds of comments but in the original movie they're talking about who would play Sydney if they made a movie about the killings and Dewey said you look like a young Meg Ryan and she said with my luck they would cast Tori spelling. And in the fake stabbed movie the girl that plays Sidney is Tori spelling. It broke my heart when Randy died but I still think it was the right choice. I think the best scene in the movie is when do we gets cut and he's face-to-face with Gail sliding down the glass. Powerful.
Hope we see Scream 3 reaction and see the mastermind reveal himself

But also after the first film those costumes where in the dollar store, so the theater was only shilling $2 a person for them
