Wow seeing Rear Admiral Jive Turkey back in streamng games maes me so happy. Streams from Cold Waters kept me going when I was staying in hospital with my daughter who was diagnosed with severe heart disease. Sleepless nigts next to her bed....I was able to stay sane thanks to Jive....thank you Sir!
@@_R-RYes Sir. She had the surgery and everything is fine but the moments of waiting for the little one to wake up and then try to give a 3 yr old baby medication through injection also sleepless nights being afraid? Well I consider myself a solid man but i just collapsed inside because of the fact there was nothing I could do as a father as a man to get my baby recover. It needed time. Thanks to Jive I was able to keep my mind straight and grab moments of joy when I really needed them. Thank you for asking 🫡
48:32 In Tom Clancy’s “red storm rising“ in the chapter “dance of the vampires“ he mentions how one missile would fly at a higher altitude than the rest of the missiles. This was in 1986.
@@judyhopps9380 bec ause they're smart missiles one would stay higher than the rest on a tracking course then would communicate the other missiles to individual targets though they still all had independent radar tracking systems
I really hope they make this game multiplayer. This would be epic to have commanders in charge of the various rolls with an overall commander. Jive takes the subsurface command, someone gets jamming, someone gets BARCAP, someone gets SEAD. Damn I hope they do this.
I mean would be nice but trying to make this a multiplayer game is not looking likely with this small a team, theres a lot of problems with making multiplater
You underestimate people too much@@VonMed multiplayer would be utterly epic and expand both parties. Meanwhile, team play wouldn't be as attractive as PVP.
@@Mthammere2010 i guess but for a small work team there would be a lot of bugs and servers do cost money, trying to make that kind of experience to multiplayer is hard anyways
The SS-N-12 works like this IRL and in the game: One missile flies high and keeps its radar on looking for targets, the remaining missiles remain sea skimming. If the high altitude missile is shot down, one of the sea skimmers takes its place. As the missiles get closer to the target, the missiles communicate with each other and they each pick out their own targets with each HVT recieving more vampires. In the game and IRL you can launch all of your Shipwrecks into a pack of ships and trust the missiles to do their jobs.
Nobody knows what it really did IRL. There isn’t much evidence that it could actually do what was claimed. It was a cool concept, but it was most likely similar to the Mig-25. It was fearsome in concept, but nearly useless in practice.

2:55:01 but you're EW jamming his sensors, right? How will the Udeloy engage you with SAM's if his radar is being jammed and washed out? Or does he have counter-jamming measures that still allow him to use his radar, just less effectively? I.e. shorter range, or less accurate target finding and tracking?
As complex as this game appears, these surface fights are extremely simple. You CANNOT sit back and just let them shoot missiles at you. They will literally pick you apart, and every missile that gets through is a kill and will substantially reduce your ability. You saw this here. One missile got through and you lost a cruiser. This is World of Warships. This is literally a race to 1) spot the enemy before you’re spotted and 2) get missiles on them. Those enemy helicopters should have been your first mission. You’ve got fighters and you’ve got a frigate. Shoot them down. Then use your own helos or AWACS to spot the enemy and get ordnance on target. You absolutely can’t fumble around while they’re lobbying thousand KG missiles at you.
Yeah, he's spending way too much time watching missiles coming in and never seems to get around to throwing together every plan he has to hit the Russians
Great to see this scenario from the USN view. Also a relief to see they have fixed the abysmal AA of the USN. They actually hit better than 50%. Actually amazed the Perry lasted so long. The Little Perry that could! I think your jamming efforts really helped as well. Breakthrough has been buggy and crash proned for the past few weeks.
I dont think there is any real life data besides testing in controlled environments on the effectiveness of ships air defences, since there ha not been any peer to peer naval engagements since WW2. Also HMS Sheffield, USS Stark and recently the Moskva all got hit by anti ship missiles despite them having defence capabilities on paper.
@@hernerweisenberg7052 Meanwhile the nation's population is rapidly aging and needs to bring in young people to stay alive. But yeah, 'diversity bad, huuurrrr'.
The actions of the anti ship missiles are already public. It is pushed as a feature when they came out with new missiles. If the high missile is destroyed, a low will go high to get radar data so the group can continue.
just change the designation from "merchant" to "Q-ship" in the afteraction repport and you should be good, not like anyone is going to dive down and check
Man, you're awesome. Just discovered you, almost insta sub after your intro. Obligatory, but sincere thank you for your service. I'm writing this on Oct 20, 2024 and it's TORTURE waiting for this game to come out. Your vids are definitely gonna help ride this out!
Sea Power fully emulates Soviet SS-N behaviour. So if they could swarm, data relay, deconflict etc. then they will in this game. So Oscar drivers are in bliss comas. 🤣
48:50 Another TH-camr playing this game talked about this, so that’s how I know. The missiles fly as a flight datalinked together. One stays at high altitude to gather radar data and sends it down to the other missiles. If the missile up top gets shot down another from the pack takes over.
Because it came up several times during the stream- the AMRAAM was in service/deployed in 1991, it was in testing a little before then and so I suppose theoretically could've seen service in testing earlier- I have a source that says the first sucsessful test was in 1982 and the development seems to have been protracted and had quite a few issues but details on those issues are very scarce Edit: a little more detail, it seems that it was in low rate initial production from 1987 and that some of the earlier issues were related to massive cost overruns and delays, then possibly performance in hostile ECM environments, which they did not even try to test until '86. It thern still did not reach initial operational capability until '91. Sounds like some of the projects you cover on sub brief!
you should have wikipedia open to see which info is already public. I've heard others talk about the formation attacks in this game and RL in more detail.
I think you are good with talking about the russian missiles. It is common knowledge that they have this one missile up high scanning for targets and if it gets shot down, another missile will climb and take over command.
You should launch Air Force tactical jets like the F-15 and F-4 in flights of 4 instead of pairs. It maximizes available firepower and is also more tactically accurate.

Would putting your jammers in the air sooner and actually jamming probably have saved the Yarnell in retrospect?

is the SM2 reliability too low for real life?
Canada operates Victoria-class (formerly British Upholder-class) submarines, not Oberons.
Sadly sub school doesn’t teach how to use whiz wheels anymore the amount of sonar techs we get that say they have never used them is insane
Seen this scenario from the other side and the Soviets have a pile of naval aircraft coming.
how do you get this mission on the NATO side?
looks like you should have at least the AGM-12 anti surface air lunched missiles since those were made back in the 50s or newer models .
AGM-12 is long out of service, the F-4s do have AGM-65 Mavericks
Damn, Jive! I'm gonna have to buy this game!
