  • I spent a few years this summer tumbling up some Montana moss agates, but I think they proved worth it!

Everytime I seem to watch your polish stones I think its my favourite until you post another lol!!! Definitely love the eartthy tones with blues Ken. The agate banding and lines look so pretty!

hehe. I feel the same. Just about the time I think I found my favorite stones, another batch comes out. Those bands were top notch, for sure!

Hit them with a UV light, some of my Montana moss glows yellow under my UV Beast light. I agree, they're tough and take a long time to shape...almost as long as bloodstone.

Thanks for the tip. I'll break out the UV light.

Montana agates are awesome! Thanks for sharing! Did you use a rotary or a vibratory tumbler?

I agree, they were much better than I thought they'd be when I first saw them rough. I used a rotary tumbler on stages 1 and 4, and a vibratory for stages 2 and 3.

Have you bought stock in the Rock Shed lol, turned out nice how long in the 1st step?

I should have bought that stock when I made that order. It was a huge order. I think about 2 1/2 months for the most stubborn of them before I gave up and moved them on.

@@kengensjewelry Agates are always tuff, I sometimes like to mess with softer rocks to take my mind off of the grind no pun intended.
