The Pat McGrath under eye setting powder is amazing to me, I love it, I use it under my eyes all the time. HOWEVER, it does kick up a TON of product, I made a huge dent without even trying (or without using it daily!). It also just randomly broke one me. I didn’t drop it, I didn’t travel with it, and suddenly i opened it one day and it was broken. Julia Adams loves the powder too and found a dupe and it’s the Annabelle Perfect Matte setting powder (or a powder by Annabelle at least). If you were looking at the Pat McGrath one, pick up the Annabelle instead!

I appreciate your mindfulness. For me, I will not ever get to use/own/experience the products reviewed/tested/presented on this channel and Kackie so I watch to kind of vicariously enjoy or be it he loop at least. That said, I am a makeup lover on a tight budget so these kind of vids mean a lot to me from someone who has used both the Lux and the Lax. So yeah, there is a wealth of us, the usually silent yet likely the majority; that consider most of Sephora Luxury. I feel seen, thanks ♀. Lol

I think the Rare Beauty people were watching when you called this blush product uninspired, color-wise. The newer colors are much more nuanced. As to the dry-down, the matte is definitely problematic for me too. Here I think it’s worth mentioning the Danessa Myricks multi-tints. So forgiving, easy to apply and such a spot-on skin texture! Wish you talked more about DMB. SO much goodness going on over there!

The reason I almost got the Refy blush was because I loved the Rose shade and it’s difficult to find a lot of cream blushes that have neither oil nor fragrance. But I got Fenty’s Petal Poppin instead, which is also oil and fragrance free, and that color scratches the same itch, for the same price, and for more product!

One more thing: On the Pat McGrath undereye brightening powder: I use it with a teensy fan brush and pick up minimal product. Unfortunately it’s hard to pick up teensy amounts. ok, idea:
have your subs dm you their full face makeup items and if you have them, use them throughout a period of time (ie a week) w your own tried and true products. this would be v important as it minimizes bias that arises from using new products in junction w each other, w/o knowing how they'll work together.
so if the item is a foundation use a concealer that you know works so that the quality of the foundation isn't conflated w the properties of an unknown concealer.
basically a statistical experiment, using ctrl raw materials, and new products as variables.
it's a lot of work but it's the most comprehensive way to try a new product that works in junction w others.
if I were a masochist I'd use Minitab (stats software) and would do a DOE (design of experiment) on how to set up this study.
