I'm a 38 year old man who has lost his entire bloodline. In the last 12 years I've lost my father, mother, sister and daughter. I've been dealing with depression my entire life even before all that. This music...especially this band brought me hope when nothing else could . Its a reminder that there are people fighting their own inner wars on a daily basis. So maybe the best thing to do is listen to them . Cause they might not have anyone to listen . Lucky enough my childhood sweetheart and I were reunited . I now have two wonderful step sons and a beautiful loving wife that help me come back from the edge of darkness every day. The beautiful thing is that they don't even know what they have done for me. So I stay strong for them . Thanks to all for reading . And also to breaking benjamin for putting their thoughts out there for us to cling to.
My 11 year old daughter came into my room "Dad I can't listen to one of the songs you listen to, it makes me cry". But she had no idea what song it was. I listen to a lot of guitar rock, which isn't generally the type of music that would illicit such a response. Then we were in our vehicle and this song came on, and she broke down "This is the one, THIS song". I had been singing it a lot also. She's been through a lot since her mom left us, but this is the first time I've seen a song tear her up so badly. I have to be careful where I listen to this song now, that's the downside. But goes to show just how powerful this song really is.

In honor of Adam Grimes my husband who went to heaven July 13th 2022. Suddenly & quickly he passed and my life turned upside down. He loved Breaking Benjamin and we would listen to this song all the time. Has a whole new meaning now. He was 40 years young, married 18 years and 2 beautiful children.

I fought my hardest to defeat the disease of alcoholism. i did well for a couple years but im watching my world crumble again. Id rather not feel these emotions again so i decided to pick up drinking because when im blacked out drunk i dont have to feel. When the Chorus says: "Stay with me, don't let me go." I believe it is the perspective of Jesus Christ, talking to the believer in doubt in his faith. God will never leave nor forsake you. Breaking Benjamin has played a big part in my young adulthood. Still to this day I can come back and listen. It allows me to remember days long gone but deeply cherished. There might be a video to this song but when you close your eyes you vision yourself facing against the world.

I look felt the comments that mention suicide and leave a comment asking if they are all right, even if the comment is years old. A basic interaction asking if someone is ok goes a lot further than one might think. I know from experience being on the other end

The title references the biblical garden of Eden, and the story of Adam and Eve like you said. In the beginning there is a technological eden, a paradise. When one person literally fell out, like Eve did in Genesis, another person chose to follow them rather than having to live without them. Does this make Ben like God and the band like angels? After the two people died, there was no more Eden (hence, the "ashes") but they were still able to be with each other in a lesser sphere of existence.

I am a 34 year old widower. I have loved Breaking Benjamin since HS. Me and my wife's second date was to see them in concert where she fell in love with this band. We both loved this song before she passed. Now when I hear it I really do feel like I can hear her and feel her...weird I know. I can usually sing along with songs and be pretty satisfied with how I sound compared but with him, it's very difficult. He has a very different way to the tone in his voice. It's very controlled which is very impressive.

I love the Adam and Eve vibe of this music video but the best part is the subtle Yin Yang imagery between the two of them at the end. The guy has no hair but has a black beard, the girl has a clean face and light colored hair, he's wearing a black leather jacket with a white shirt and she's wearing a white leather jacket with a black shirt. A clever metaphor conveying that although man and woman are different, they complement each other as does all the opposing forces that make up the universe. Breaking Benjamin saved my life. When I was in high school I was going through a rather rough time. I moved from a place I called home for almost 9 years. I was missing my friends and had no one. People I thought were my friends weren't really my friends. Their song I Will Not Bow gave me strength to continue and things got better. Thank you Breaking Benjamin for existing and making music you saved my life. Also when you were in Spokane I traveled all the way from Kennewick just to see you guys again. This was a beautiful story and amazing video for its time. I hope that this story has its real roots to actual events. Somewhere somewhere. The live I have know is a similar feeling as what I know now. Worst case scenario? I loved with no walls or restraints, and was completely aware of the pain that was capable of existing as a result. This song is absolutely phenomenal. It's one of those rare melodies that just never gets old no matter how many times you hear it. If anything you learn how well-designed this song really is the more you hear it. Vocally it's perfect, lyrically it's very deep, and all in all it's one of Breaking Benjamin's best. Definitely. I come to the song from kind of the opposite perspective but there is something about the song that is more spiritual than religious in my opinion. Ben conjures religious imagery but that's as much for the emotions they evoke as trying to make a "christian" song. I hope that Ben keeps writing songs like this that connect us because we've all experienced it too.
I’ve lived with depression all my life. Two times I tired to end everything. To release the pain and darkness. But music has always been my safe place. Music has always helped push me forward. When life gets so hard that you wish a bullet ends it doesn’t mean you a lost case. It means reach out and ask for help. We aren’t here by ourselves. We are here with the people who love us. Loves not defined by blood it defined by the person who is willing to wrap their arms around you and not let go. To anyone suffering from depression know you are loved and know you are worth it.
Same. Tried 44 years ago. Failed. 1 year ago drank 2 fifths in about an hour and half. Still woke up. I began to immerse myself into music and it is keeping me going. Four of my six kids chose to follow difficult lives because one tried LSD. My wife of 28 years stopped loving me 9 years ago. Now I am climbing out of the pit one note at a time. I write music and songs. I play and sing at church and at open mic nights. I am actively seeking to get my songs out there. Music and God are leading me back to life

I have severe depression and anxiety and lost many friends because they couldn't "deal with it". Now I know who my true friends are who have stuck by my side when I was at rock bottom,
if you're buddies couldn't simply stick with you and tell you everything's gonna be alright then they weren't friends in the first place, you're real friends are gonna stick with you 100% and make sure you're alright. I don't know why people can't see the validity of this song. Even after living 43 years in a shaddow of untruths, I can feel hope. I don't need a label to prove to me that God sees us, and mercy is shown through grace. What we see fails, what we are tethered to in the end, saves you. This got to be one of Benjamin best songs done. Whenever I listen and sing, tears will shed. It really got me. There are many different meaning to different people. For me it me thinking when I was so despaired and deserted, not worthy of anything in life. When people say they will be there for me, but where are they when I needed most? Wow, I haven’t cried for anything in several years and this actually made me tear up. Laying next to my wife in bed trying not to wake her up because I’d be embarrassed. Song reminded me of my grandpa and how I wish I would never see the day that he passes away. We are so close but since we moved several years ago I don’t get to see him often. So maybe the best thing to do is listen to them . Cause they might not have anyone to listen . Lucky enough my childhood sweetheart and I were reunited . I now have two wonderful step sons and a beautiful loving wife that help me come back from the edge of darkness every day. The beautiful thing is that they don't even know what they have done for me. I listen to a lot of guitar rock, which isn't generally the type of music that would illicit such a response. Then we were in our vehicle and this song came on, and she broke down "This is the one, THIS song". I had been singing it a lot also. She's been through a lot since her mom left us, but this is the first time I've seen a song tear her up so badly. I have to be careful where I listen to this song now, that's the downside. The title references the biblical garden of Eden, and the story of Adam and Eve like you said. In the beginning there is a technological eden, a paradise. When one person literally fell out, like Eve did in Genesis, another person chose to follow them rather than having to live without them. Does this make Ben like God and the band like angels? After the two people died, there was no more Eden (hence, the "ashes") but they were still able to be with each other in a lesser sphere of existence.

My Grandson was named Benjamin after this band. Our dysfunctional family won't allow me to see him for whatever reason. I'm so so sad over it as he's my one and only Grandchild. Depression is a disease that we all live with, some people can find salvation through Christ or loved ones... Then some people don't get so lucky, if you know of anyone that is struggling do not ignore them. You may be the only thing stopping them from ending their life or doing something they will regret. We all have our demons we battle on a daily basis, you don't know what they are going through. Don't be so quick to judge, everyone's life is sacred because we only get 1 chance at life...no redos.

I love the Adam and Eve vibe of this music video but the best part is the subtle Yin Yang imagery between the two of them at the end. The guy has no hair but has a black beard, the girl has a clean face and light colored hair, he's wearing a black leather jacket with a white shirt and she's wearing a white leather jacket with a black shirt. A clever metaphor conveying that although man and woman are different, they complement each other as does all the opposing forces that make up the universe. Breaking Benjamin saved my life. When I was in high school I was going through a rather rough time. I moved from a place I called home for almost 9 years. I was missing my friends and had no one. People I thought were my friends weren't really my friends. Their song I Will Not Bow gave me strength to continue and things got better. Thank you Breaking Benjamin for existing and making music you saved my life. Also when you were in Spokane I traveled all the way from Kennewick just to see you guys again. Definitely. I come to the song from kind of the opposite perspective but there is something about the song that is more spiritual than religious in my opinion. Ben conjures religious imagery but that's as much for the emotions they evoke as trying to make a "christian" song. I hope that Ben keeps writing songs like this that connect us because we've all experienced it too.

This got to be one of Benjamin best songs done. Whenever I listen and sing, tears will shed. It really got me. There are many different meaning to different people. For me it me thinking when I was so despaired and deserted, not worthy of anything in life. When people say they will be there for me, but where are they when I needed most? I have to pul myself together by myself alone to stay strong and move on. At the moment it's my top playlist and not without a day I do not listen to this song
