** drives past, "who in the heck hacked that pipe insulation on there". some of us would notice, but many have not a clue what that black squiggly noodle even is. LOL
After I retired from the trade after 52 years, what amazed me the most was so few units just spontaneously burst into a fireball straight out of the box! 🤣
Had a union electrician wire a new walk-in freezer install for me about 15 years ago. He wired L1-L2 directly to evaporator H1 and H2. Instead of calling like he was supposed to do, he powered the circuit and left. Pretty much melted everything…
@@johnbell6956 I was with the local pipe fitters union for 1 job. They got mad at me as I produced 3 weeks worth of work in 4 days. " You should never do that, these bids are for time." WTF?
@@johnbell6956 I got recruited into that union because they were too far behind! No wonder. I did my fittings in multiple batches all at once because I had been self employed and couldn't waste any time.
I do a lot of restaurant refrigeration and find those termination switches always pulled off on the defrost clock. Most likely, it went bad causing the coil to freeze up previously.
Thanks for the promo code just got some tools for a upcoming job and used it to save some money and i hope you get some money for the sponsorship. Keep the videos coming I enjoy the knowledge you share and tips and tricks really does help. Thanks again dude!
Awesome thank you! I mainly get new tools in trade for my advertising so it works out. I appreciate your feedback, it helps me know if I’m on track or not.
It was originally over a hour long, I did find a new feature that automatically cuts out the pause’s in my speaking. That helped a lot but it still took forever to edit. Some videos I’ve seen lately are crazy, I try to not record simple things like a bad capacitor or a fan motor. I feel it’s wasting the viewers time.
Thanks bro, I do my best to make it worthwhile. It takes hours and hours to get these things cut down from an hour to where it’s at now and it’s even too long now but I’d be cutting out way too many things otherwise.
Ah gotcha 😂 I knew I was misunderstanding somehow. We don't charge any extra for that but it'd be nice if i got some cash for using my $500 beeper.@@HVACRSurvival
Yeah, that’s kind of a crappy part. I don’t get that money even though I paid for the tool but the company gives us between 500 and 700 bucks a year for Tools.
Must be nice my employer doesnt give us shit for tools except we can buy now and pay later. On the plus side I own everything and it leaves when I do. @@HVACRSurvival
Man my boss sent me to change a heater assembly on a Munters today. Old one was completely burnt up from the burners to the controls. machine hasn’t run in any mode for almost a year, doors off the entire time, new module is for a unit that’s 20 years newer. Total nightmare to install in this old piece of shit…of course it doesn’t work correctly and now it’s all on my head somehow. I was setup to fail from the beginning, guy who quoted it gave the bosses the impression that we change this heater out and turn the key, when in fact this is step 1 of like 20. Now I see why commercial guys play hide and seek for a grand a week…should I have found a way to hack this thing together and make it work? Am I being to sensitive?
As long as you can make something run safely and if you explain to the customer what you want to do, then I wouldn’t see a problem doing what you had to in order for it to work

I can't get over how quickly you zeroed in on that defrost switch.
I know how many things have been half assed there.

you just taught me a valuable lesson on how to change the oil in a semi hermetic. thank you
Glad it was helpful! i’m just passing on what I was shown.
Hey Rick. Great tip about the glue. Thank you for sharing.

Always good to see a new video from you! 👍
Great job done! Especially with what you're working with! 💪
Appreciate it!
Good stuff Rick. That was a lot of information packed into one video....thanks for sharing with us.

Great job Rick
A new video! Yes!
Nice work Rick.
I really appreciate your support Steven! It keeps me doing these videos! Have a great week!

Was that a K body? If so, they hold just over a half a quart. Still remember from my rebuild days.
Great Video. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Do you have to go to school to learn commercial refrigeration, or get with a company that will train?
They cover basics in school, but where I’m at the school still isn’t all that great. You’re better off. Learning on the job and reading books.
@@HVACRSurvival Do you have a recommended commercial refrigeration book to start out with. I'm just tired of residential.
No you don’t but it’s a lot of trials and tribulations learning it. It’s like learning a whole other field even though you wouldn’t think so
Good video, thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching it 🤜🤛👍👍
I see this in Florida all the time. For some reason techs here cant comprehend a fan and defrost switch.
Heyho, I checked your tools list in the description and your kit site and couldn't find that flashlight that you use, is that a Fenix?
Good video, nice work!!
$8 or $10 for leak check? We charge our regular hourly rate until its found.
That’s just the tool usual charge, not the total cost for finding the leak.

Awesome, thank you very much for letting me know!
Man i've been using that glue all wrong! lol thanks for the video
nice work.
I had two freezer coils miswired from the factory
They have the same problems that we do on hiring people, plus a lot of them just don’t care
Awesome video!

You can only polish a turd so many times ...
Btw it's called ALUMINIUM with an I , not aluminom or whatever you lot like to say over there
🤓
I probably say luminum 😂 just like I say 34 a instead of 134 a
That's the worst lead detector of all butt just so you know lot of complaints about that one
What’s a lead detector? Are you talking about the stratus?
