Great information. We are exploring Piedmont/Coastal region for retirement and within driving to water within next 5 yrs. Enjoy outdoors. Very interested in flood zones. Condo communities, single level living, accessible Healthcare. Any resources outside New Bern you can also provide?
Thanks for watching! Will definitely address some of these topics in upcoming videos. But feel free to email me at rcopeland@palmshome.com with any further questions or give me a call at 252-649-3081.

Hi there! Thanks for watching! To be completely transparent, I would definitely say that New Bern appeals more to retirees and young families. But with that being said, depending on what you like to do there are still some really fun things to do in New Bern and the surrounding areas. Feel free to email me at rcopeland@palmshome.com with any further questions or give me a call at 252-649-3081. Thanks again for watching!
@Going about my Fathers business, I’ve lived in New Bern for about 6 1/2 years and I’m single as well. The dating life here is horrible! We are sandwiched between two Marine Corps bases and the population is relatively smaller than larger cities like Wilmington and Raleigh. I’m not big on bars/clubs either, but in my opinion there are tons of fun and entertaining things to do here. I hope this information is helpful. If you haven’t visited the area before, you should consider getting a lay of the land. If you need a tour guide let me know, I’m former law enforcement here and can point out the best areas.
There used to be a bowling alley. They demolished it and put in an apartment complex. There is a roller rink. There's alot of churches. There is an "adult" store. The majority of the people they consider nice communities, are stuck up assholes. This town sucks. I'm single. Too. And human trafficking and drug trafficking is getting out of control. They hate the homeless here. There used to be a scrap yard in town, but they embezzled money. We used to have recycling. The bars roofie customers on behalf of investors who see individuals as problematic for not being one of them and calling out their shit. Pepsi was created here, and the downtown area isn't bad for art appreciation.
Do you have experience in 1031 exchanges? I'm probably selling a rental soon and considering NC for our future relocation. I'm very much into sailing and storing/maintaining a boat in Orange County, CA is just getting way too expensive for us. I have a cousin that moved to New Bern about 3-4 years ago from Ohio - He really loves his new state. Has the New Bern RE market started to soften? Our market has definitely felt the rise in interest rates.
Considering relocating to New Bern. Getting an AirBnb first to explore the area. We have a home we're interested in but we're on the border of Pennsylvania currently and do not have a realtor we're using. My question is flood insurance. If we're more inland, is it still required? Is it possible to have a good neighborhood in the 200K and under range?
Hey there! I would love to help out! Shoot me a text to my cell. 252-649-3081. Let’s hop on a quick call this week. Hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving!
I been in the area, for many years, on and off. And this community has a small town drama problem with big city attitudes and elementary levels of maturity. When i came home from the army in 07, i unfortunately lived on these streets for the first 3 years i was home. And people thought i was one of their disgusting locals who rape and drug women. The police like to deny victims help. They have yet to address the issues they allowed to occur and helped do to me. Some felons stole my identity, and the police harassed me based on false information they provided. The va here, finally recognized me for my service in 2017. I was denied many jobs, and manager friends of mine who were told not to hire me, had informed me the local businesses get a better tax break for putting felons back to work, then helping get veterans a job. My apartment, in 2017 was 750, and by the end of that year, was 880. By the end of my third year, it was over 1300 a month. And i had mold. And they had the lawn crew spray pesticide in my outdoor hvac. The maintenance twam stole my title from my dresser and returned it before my eviction was finalized and the complex had my car towed and they had a speed limiter or a governor on it. woodland crossing apartments. Its a heavily liberal community, and they are influencing lgbtq and pedo values here. I got jocked out of a bar when i was enjoying a drink when a kid started grinding on a pillar 2 feet away, while police watched From across the street.
