NC isn't poor. There are areas that have been left behind though. I was raised in coastal NC Beaufort in specific. Eastern NC is a mix of tourist like this video and hardscrabble fishermen once you get down towards Ceader Island. It's just the way it is. When I was growing up Moorehead City kids looked down on us and we looked down on them. The kids from Harker's Island on down looked down on all of us. Didn't matter. Most of them wouldn't graduate because they were gone hunting shrimp . Once you passed Beaufort, that was "Down east"
My old stomping grounds back in the 70s! Sure has changed a bit...some pretty nice yachts docked there! I still have HS friends that live there and in MHC! I was looking to see if I saw anyone I knew....lol! Nice video!
Raised there. Good to see Clawson's is still up and running. That one dress store I believe was run by my best friend's mom that I saw Ms. Potter. Probably not now. Good to see the inlet inn where my best buddy Mike Ricks night clerked at. The Boardwalk happened in my lifetime and it's good to see how the town has done well. The Dockhouse resturant was always a good add.
Is there a place in the video where you got to the monument to Mike Smith? It's right there on the boardwalk. It's small and appropriate. The old joke back in the day was...His last words were "Am giving it full throttle" well, that's the last time they let anyone from North Carolina drive. He redlined it!" It may seem in bad taste these days. I guess more of a story than a joke

Hello there!
So this is what a "poor" US state looks like? My gosh. Simply amazing.
It really is

no this is not, this is were the rich live in a poor state
@@pngproductions8529North Carolina has the 10th largest economy in the US. It’s not a poor state at all.
@@The2ndFirst "The OTHER side of the bridge" right? lol. I remember. Love Beaufort and Down East. Yes'sir bah. High tide on the sound side. 🙂
Awesome video bro

Loved that place. It was one of our favorites until the passing of my dear loved wife in 2022!
Hey do you mind if I use about 20 seconds of this video? I'll give you credit of course.

How'd you find this 2yrs later?
I just searched up Beaufort, North Carolina and looked for my boat because I knew I was there at the time and found it :)
@@ScottWasOG I love weird interactions like these!
Did you guys owned the boat or rented it?
@@arslaanmania1309 own, for 2 years

That data is on most of our videos.... may be we skipped this one
I have a place 20 minute from here. I don't go any more because I don't like paying to park every where!

;)
Do you pronounce the name "Bew-fort" or "Bow-fort"?
sc’s beaufort is byoo-fert and nc’s beaufort is bow-fert
Where was the music coming from at the end? Way to wreck a beautiful scene
Somewhere in our way ...

Obnoxious music ruined that at the end.
