Hi Liah! I had a question so my skin barrier is not great and i'm trying to heal it by using more soothing products and my face wash isn't very calming so what do you think about the Soon Jung face cleanser? Is it good for healing sensitive skin? Thank you!❤
I have one of the most sensitive face skins out there. Here's what you should avoid: - using too much hot water on your face when showering - cleansers - pay attention to what you put on your face,if you use many products and find that your skin turns red, begin applying only one a day until you find the culprit and eliminate it - don't use harsh exfoliants - don't scrub your face when drying it with the towel,be extremely gentle and dab only - blowing the hot air of the hair-dryer directly on your face - applying anything like face creams and lotions right after the cleaning routine can irritate it, you wanna wait a few hours so the skin can go back to a relaxed state - pay attention to natural oils, they too can cause irritation if you're allergic - protect your skin with sunscreen if possible,at any time of the year or wear a large hat to protect it from sunlight (it also makes you look classy 😉) - pay attention to waxing,it too can irritate the skin - don't use facial peelers - don't use bar soaps, certain types are really really harsh - when showering, try to avoid any shampoo on your face, keep your head tilted to the back, as much as possible - facial steamers - dermarollers - direct sunlight and heat from any source on your face (heaters and fireplaces) - makeup If I remember anything else,I'll come back and edit it.
@@vivi744 It's very basic. I only uses a facial cleanser, rinse and apply some coconut oil for hydration and in the end sunscreen protection. That's it. I still haven't found anything to work with my face.
This vid is very timely as I'm having redness and irritation on my skin right now.. This is very helpful.. Thanks so much liah, will try the colloid oats water.. Love from Philippines.. ^_^
much better na skin ko compared before. ngpalit ako nang skincare, kbeauty na halos gamit ko, i skip washing my face in the morning i’d rather use a toner to cleanse my face, dna dn ako gaano gmagamit nang mga harsh exfoliators. i always lean towards mild and soothing ingredients like Centella Asiatica. 😊
Liah you literally read my mind. I was looking into healing my skin from constant redness and irritation. Thank you so much for this informative video!
Yes! The video I've always needed but could never find! I've never come across anyone who had skin as sensitive as mine, as I get allergic reactions super easily and have been through every type of allergic reaction- pimples, red inflamed skin, swollen face, you name it! I've literally just gotten over an allergic reaction yesterday 😭 This will definitely come in handy, thank you so much! You're a lifesaver 💖
amazingpm3, I also have sensitive skin! One wrong product and then two hours later I get a new pimple. Turns out I get them from fragrance and “bad” alcohol. That’s why I read the ingredients. Also when I get super stressed. The next day, I get five new pimples. Sad really. But I know how to treat em. I’m just glad that I’m patient and consistent with my products.
Hi, same as mine. This started 5 years ago. Would you share your products as well? I'm struggling to find hypoallergenic and sensitive skin friendly products for years. Been going on trial and error. 😣
@@j.marianpaguirigan5854 Skin1004 Madagascar centella asiatica ampoule. Cosrx ultimate nourishing rice overnight mask. I sometimes use it as a day moisturizer. Mamonde ceramide light cream. Hadalabo gokuyun light lotion. Elizavecca essence. La roche posay toleriane hydrating cleanser. La roche posay toleriane purifying foaming cleanser. Skin aqua uv moisture gel both spf 35+++ and spf 50++++ work without irritation and breaking me out into red bumps. These have never caused problems that said I went and nourished and repaired my skin and that helped a lot with really figuring out what bothers my skin and what doesn't.
This is exactly what i just went through. I got a terrible rash/peeling/irritation with several small bumps on my cheeks that actually hurt. I got them after trying out 3 different new products at once :(((. And I couldn’t agree with you more. I was thinking about that Avene cream at first but I saw fragrance in the ingredient list that stopped me from buying it. Instead I got the Vichy 89 hydrating booster which only has 11 ingredients. After 4 days of using it, my skin has gone back to normal. All the bumps have disappeared. Definitely should stay indoors during this period guys, just don’t go out under the sun!!
I checked just now and this one actually doesn't seem to have fragrance (however, some other Avene products do I think). But still thanks a lot for the other recommendation! My skin is really freaked out at the moment, and I want to try the Avene moisturizer, but if it doesn't work either, it's always great to have some other products to test on the list.
Hi Liah! Can you do an updated video about different types of oils and their benefits? For example, sea buckthorn oil, borage seed oil, camellia oil, etc?
how long can you store the collodial oat water? could you make in bulk and store for daily use? I have eczema and sensitive skin so that would help me tremendously!
Stephanie Yun i would not store it for more than two days in the refrigerator, as It does not have any preservatives in it so the oatmeal water would be fair game for a bunch of hungry bacteria XD.
Ugh. I went way overboard and bought tons of new skin care products and now I have extremely angry skin. I’m going to give the oatmeal water a try! Thank you for making this video!!
Perfect timing just used a clay mask that had amazing reviews and it left my skin burning and itchy. This goes to prove what might work for everyone else might not work for you and that's okay!:) Be patient with skincare and do your research~ good day
I've eczema on my face with red patches on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Its so itchy and i cant stop scratching and it become red spot on my face and looks bumpy too. I tried the colloidal oat mask and its so aamazing. Its really soothe my itchy skin and reduce the redness in instant. Need to consistent doing this for weeks if you wanna see a superb result eventho actually you can see it in first application. Recommended. And its safe too. No chemical at all
Liah Yoo which brand did you get? Many on amazon say they protect against uva but they do not. If you could recommend us the brand you bought would be amazing:)!
Thanks liah. My tip is to layer a thick amount of honey on as a sos mask. Leave it on for at least 15minutes then wash it off.. the irritated & sensitized skin will almost instantly calm down, it's amazinggg. It moisturizes the skin as well so i skipped a moisturizer bc i of course i'd stop skincare when that happens. It worked for me. I do now and then use the oat as a cleanser in the morning, but i exfolliate with the oat grains (mashed up with water) as well cuz it's gentle enough. But can't leave it on for too long since it would be hard to come off. Hope these help.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I wish I knew about your channel when my face broke out from allergy season last spring and my skin was raw, red and super irritated. Grateful for these tips for this year’s upcoming allergy season. The DIY oat cleansing water is an amazing trick for emergency cleaning. The Aveeno Eczema moisturizing cream saved my dry skin flare ups dramatically and effectively
I read that the avene moisturizer has mineral oil. Is that safe for acne prone skin? I heard mineral oil can compromise the skin barrier and clog pores.
Emily G. Mineral oil are completely safe especially with people who has acne prone skin because it won't clog pores. This (mineral oil) and squalene are actually better than any other oil in the market.
Just found out about the Avene Tolerance Emulsion a few days ago from a ND's video that specializes in acne. Love it! My skin had been going through a hissy fit. Just wanted to note that the Canadian version (probably same as European) does not have mineral oil & I think US version might have silicones too. CDN versions are emulsion & creme, while US is creme & heavy creme.
My skin went through really bad eczma a few months back, it was so raw, red and so sensitive. And what I did for face washing was to use green tea water that had been cooled down in the fridge and it calmed down my skin soo much!
I've been watching so many Liah Yoo videos that I actually already know what she's going to say in this video. I have dry and sensitive skin (psoriasis). I discovered that I was allergic to tea tree so I stopped doing all the skin care steps they say that's going to get rid of my acne. Now I only wash my face once a day with cetaphil and use rose hip oil which is surprisingly the same thing she said in this video. IT WORKS GUYS!! Thank you so much Liah!
I wish you made this video a little earlier! My skin had a really bad reaction to an oil sample I got from Origins (I know, I know, not the best brand to shop for skincare 🙃), leading to a red dry burnt patches all around my skin. I watched your videos on skincare detox and moisturizers for sensitive skin and decided to follow your advice and ditch all of my skincare, which was ridiculously hard ‘cause I’m a junkie. So, here’s what I’ve been doing for the past three weeks to restore the balance of my skin, if anyone’s curious: I’m very acne-prone, so I couldn’t imagine skipping cleansing; I used the glossier milky jelly cleanser in the mornings following it up by their regular priming moisturizer and the etude house sunprise sunscreen. In the evenings I used the Krave beauty cleanser and La Roche-Posay’s Cicaplast Baume B5. My skin’s all back to normal now, but I’ve been really enjoying the simplified regimen so I might keep it up for a little normal. I hope this helps anyone in the same situation :]
Thank you ❤❤❤ Before four days, I applied a face pack at night time & went to sleep. Next day my skin got irritated on my forehead, chin & cheeks, then I used the oats water for washing my face & skipped my sunscreen & for moisturizing I applied 2-3 drops of oil (Rosehip oil+Aryan oil mixed), now my skin has calmed down. I love you ❤😘
Thank you! I suddenly developed highly sensitive and irritated skin post acid toners and skipping sunscreens. I remembered your video and will follow this routine. 💕
i just love your videos so much! there are so many skincare videos out there these days, but most seems to simply promote skincare products and not really explain too well. Your videos are so helpful, I never get bored of watching them and I actually *get* something out of them! Love you xx
I love how "real" you are 😍. Some TH-camrs and bloggers always look perfect and somehow unreal but you are different. You face struggles like us. You are the blogger we need. Love you
I actually discovered Avene (and how good this brand is) a week ago after I got a burn from the Drunk Elephant TLC serum, and this moisturizer really healed my skin!!
Cat RV I actually find out how to use it properly after watching gothamista's video, but I don't think I'm gonna use it again, it's too strong for my skin!
Amelia Porter it calmed my skin. No more redness. I had to stop ALL products I'm using and just used oats. After 3 days the redness was gone as well as the itchiness and stinging.
I found you from James Welsh's channel!! So happy I did! My skin seriously needs these tips! My skin is acne prone and extremely sensitive to everything! It needs some healing right now. Amazing video! 😊❤️
This girl reads my mind! Much much needed love and as always very informative. And also how are clinique's products especially for acne prone sensitive oily skin, especially their moisture surge moisturiser? any reviews? please help me liah! Lots of love♥️
Thank you, I no longer feel like a skincare slacker for being unable to tolerate wearing sunscreen when my skin's emotional status is "angry at the world (but especially me)".
I used to use micellar water every single day on my skin as my skincare routine and as I was doing that my skin started overly stripping and being irritated. Your tips really helped my skin in to calm the irritation down. I'm currently using the hydrating face wash by the brand Simple and it's really working really well because it's meant for Super sensitive skin and I've stopped using micellar water and instead I've been using the method with oil cleansing to help break down the makeup if i need to. I also have been using aloe vera gel on my skin as a gentle face mask and that has been working very well for me and it's really helped with the visible irritation of my skin.
Finally a video that has the info that i need ... i am a muslim girl hijabi and niqabi as well so when i go out i cover my face except my eyes.. i have a very allergic skin and after living in Malaysia with its harsh weather and sun .. my face, neck, and hands became very sensitive to sun exposure! Thus allergic to many face products along the way. Even some essential oils irritate my skin so badly like olive oil or coconut oil. The doctor adviced me to quit all the products and use only cetaphil gentle cleanser and cream. It helped a lot thanks to Allah, but if i get too much sun exposure in one day, thats enough to give me a very bad skin irritation and swollen itchy face. So thanks a lot for ur tips ❤
I have watched all your videos on acne, dehydrated skin and damaged skin barrier. I am vegan and eat pretty healthy, try to stay away from sugar as much as possible (since I've figured out that it causes pimples on my chin and jawline) but still I had acne on other places, red spots and blackheads. I used to double cleans first with an oil and then with a gel cleanser or a natural soap (which made my skin dry and flaky and oily - it was a mess). I thought that's what I'm supposed to do, clean my face very well, since I have acne. Now I use a gentle natural milky cleanser after removing my makeup with oil, and at night I put on jojoba oil before a light moisturizer. In the morning I skip the cleanser and just splash a bit of water on my face then put on moisturizer. Don't use face masks and toner to give my skin a little rest but I wear makeup on work days. It's only been like a week or two but I can feel that my skin is getting better. I have to buy SPF and start applying it as well. Thank you for sharing a different perspective on acne prone skin!
I am on an accutane treatment so my skin is extremely dry, sensitive, flaky, red, and even raw in some places. My skincare routine is a VERY gentle cleanser once a day (cetaphil is very good and cheap) then use the La Roche Posay Cicaplast 2 times a day (more on my lips because they crack on the side and if I don't I end up looking like the joker lol) . this is made to heal scars or raw skin; it accelerates the healing and is anti bacterial. After that for my very dry skin I use Cetaphil chronically dry skin moisturizer at night and the Dr Jart Ceramidin cream. Sometimes when my skin is really bad I use an Avene product made for acne treatment dried skin but I don't know the name of it. this combination is the only one I found that help a lot with the dryness and rawness (is that a word?) of my skin and all the products are good for sensitive skin. Oh and I always use sunscreen during the day too since Accutane make the skin extremely sensitive to the sun!
y4miko try Squalane oil! It has saved my skin! I have extremely dry, tight skin and it becomes painful sometimes. I pat it into my skin the. Add a few drops into my Aveeno ultra calming night cream and its amazing!!!!!!
ooh I suggest using aqueous cream to take off remover when your skin is dry or hyper-sensitive! They're really cheap at the drugstore and you can use them as moisturiser/ mask as well. My dad has a skin condition and the doctors prescribed him aqueous cream and it's been working wonders!
Just saw your channel, binging and loving it! I’m wondering if you have Any suggestions on a good regimen for retin A user, I have dry/irritated skin because of retin A use. I also have acne, oily, sensitive prone skin. Would the avene cream cause breakout? Thank you.
To be honest, I can’t predict how your skin is going to react to the cream. I know that it’s well tolerated by many people and many derms recommend it!
I was experiencing really bad peeling after an acne treatment, even on my eyelids. Everything I put on was stinging. I turned to Avene eye cream and it was stinging like mad. Even when the irritation went away and I gave Avene another chance, still I felt stinging on my eyelids... so I wouldn't reccomend it. The only thing I could put on my face and eyelids when my face was peeling and was highly sensitized was the soothing sensitive cream by Primera. I also tried the soothing cream by La Roche, but it never got absorbed on my skin, and it always accumulated on the surface which only highlighted how dry and flaky my skin was. So i definitely highly reccomend Primera soothing skin for highly irritated and sensitized skin. Let me know if any of you have other alternatives that you swear by!
Liah this video came with perfect timing i bought a aha product and put it on my face and i believe this caused the break out my face to be irritated like a whole new level of irritation. And i used sunscreen to protect the fresh skin layer. My skin is super super sensitive to almost every product i use. I use a cleanser it becomes drying even with a moisturizer, the sunscreen i has irritates my skin but its the only sun screen i can find with zinc oxide. Im not cleansing and only moisturizing lately but its causing acne again and i have no idea what is causing my skin to be irritated all the time ingredient wise. I also get eczema break outs often. I do skip on sunscreen rn whilst healing but the thing is i live in the philippines where the sun is always harsh and even when im indoors, its harsh. I just want to have a healthy facd but if i use products it gets irritated. I dont i get break outs. What do i do, esp. About the sunscreen which irritatss my skin but living in a country that has constant harsh rays all year round. Thank you Basically summary: everything causes my skin to be irritated and i dont know what to do
Liah Yoo ik i have really broken skin and all my attempts make it worse :(( the thing is im only 17 and living with my parents. I dont really have freedom to consult a doctor or dermatologist on my own. My mother is a retired nurse so she just bought me tablets for allergies. Ive been begging to go to a dermatologist for months and i was supposed to go to the doctor today for my eczema breakout until she concluded i dont need to and only need allergy tablets. :(( I dont know what to do anymore i just want healthy skin My mother is a retired nurse but she doesnt specialize in skin care and i doubt an allergy tablet will fix it.
It's so helpful sometimes I get rashes on my cheeks so I m afraid to use soap🤭but searching for next option now all ur tips r useful I will try thanku 👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌I dont do any make up ,can oily skin use tis moisturizer ?🤔
Perfect timing for this video! I’m a uni student so the past month I’ve been extremely stressed and it’s definitely showing on my face. I also work part time so I’ve had liquid foundation on my face for 12+ hours 3-4 times a week... horrible, I know! I’ll take these tips into consideration, thank you so much!
That Avene recovery cream worked so well for me too!!! my skin was super sensitized last week. Red, hot, itchy, dry, tight. And on the third day, I got the Avene hydrance moisturzer and recovery cream because my mom used to love it so much when her skin was sensitized. That 2 cream healed my skin in 2 days!!!
Liah this is seriously perfect timing! I used an AHA/BHA toner for 2 nights in a row and woke up to super irritated, itchy skin that left me red bumps ALL over my face. I took an antihistamine and am only using the most gentle of products - CeraVE hydrating cleanser + PM moisturizer and the REN Ultra Calming Rescue mask, it's day 3 and my skin is looking a lot better, but in the future I'm going to try to stay away from the acids!
Aw I wish you'd released this video a month ago, my skin was so sensitized and everything stung and I had hives on my temples ugh it was the worst. It's better now but this is still very helpful
I've used sheet mask does have positive reviews but doesn't work with me, my pimples come out and my face become more dull than before. Thank you, this helps!
I use the same cleanser for years now and it's the only thing I put on my face. It's never caused me problems. However, the problem came when I started to apply moisturizers. My skin instantly goes red,it gets swelled and inflamed and I've tried more than one moisturizer. Recently my skin goes patchy red even with coconut oil or olive oil!! This is going insane! I just bought a vitamin C serum and a snail extract face cream and when combined together, its a bomb,it kills my skin. When alone, the face does react bad to the cream almost always. The serum itself did create some reactions too but less than the cream. I noticed that when I wake up,I feel hotness in my cheek area and if I apply anything in that moment,it will react badly! So I have to wash with cold water, quickly, without scrubbing too much, dab the excess water and then I have to wait for a few hours for my skin to stop feeling "hot". Only then I can apply some cream and often,it still becomes red. I'm desperate, after spending all those money on this face cream and serum,I feel like I can't even use it. My cheek area and between my brows are the most sensitive areas.
Right after watching the video I cleansed my face and I suddenly got a reaction where my whole face started flaking. It looked like eczema on my face and I cried for like a minute until I remembered your steps! LIAH YOO, YOU SAVED MY SKIN 😭😭😍
if u need to skip sunscreen u can still kinda protect ur skin w/ carrot seed, and raspberry seed oils, they have some natural sunscreen. also vitamin e is awesome for the sun, its an antioxidant. i use this for indoor sunscreen cuz i dont like putting on sunscreen indoors if im only getting minimal light
This Video might be an answer to my questions lately.. i have inflamed skin since the beginning of 2019 and i have been trying out a lot.. and lately i have been considering skipping cleansers, giving oates another Try (i used them everyday last year and it helped) and skipping sun screen but i was too scared it might aggravate my condition! Now i feel encouraged to follow those ideas that i've had floating in my head for a while now :)
The best moisturizer to use when this happens is Vanicream. It has absolutely nothing in it that could even remotely cause irritation or allergic reaction. It's truly medical grade skincare in the sense that anyone can use it, even newborn babies and people with the most intolerant skin
i have just had an allergic reaction and i woke up with redness tiny bumps all over my face and it is really sensitive and itchy , i have watched multiple videos on how to deal with it and i have just been using e45 moisturizer and as my skin is flaking i have been using water to wash my face, i might try the oat water, also loving the tips
might try it ... once skin inflames it dont stop. haha ... your cotton pads look soft ... hard to not inflame skin if scrubbing it or touching it ... oat meal i might try ... probably my diet and stress ..
Hi liah yoo! I know you are a big help for me and the other! And lately i've been reading articles about steroid acne-which happens to me. So, before you get confused or whatsoever, i used creams from an aesthetic clinic in my country because at that time i have acne (i was 17 years old). Also, at that time i didnt know that acne was common between teenager lol. Anyways, the clinic had dermatologist so it seemed super reliable. But 5 months ago, i just realized that the creams contained antibiotic and steroid and hidroquinon and i had been using it for 2.5 years. How do i know? Someone asked the dermatologist, and i asked for another ingredients to the dermatologist. I was super shocked and decided to stopped all of sudden. Since then, my face became super ugly: acne everywhere, whitehead, blackhead, cystic acne, and from your earlier video, i just realized that i have fungal acne on my forehead. When i searched on the internet, it might be the side effect of the long term usage of antibiotic. And... Since i am big fan of yours and watched almost your videos, do i have to treat my steroid acne the same as other type of acne? I really want to go to another dermatologist but i am afraid if i have to go through the same path. I mean... I read an article and said that steroid topical is used for eczema. And if i have acne, it is best to treat it with benzoyl preoxide, salicylic acid, etc. Something that is more... Light? I know i am a stupid because i stopped the creams all of sudden. Geez, i am more stupid because i went to an aesthetic clinic in the first place. But... Can you help me? I am so confused on how to treat my acne because it's kind of different. Oh. And have you heard about rebound effect-after effect of using steroid? I think i have it. Thank you so much liah, and maybe others who had the same problem as me and want to share their experiences!
Hello, so my skin has been completely dry and dehydrated....Weird because my skin used to be oily but really clear, my skin was mostly clear...But now I have dry, sensitive and so much texture and scars...I think I messed up my skin barrier...because the products I used to use are now breaking me out or drying the hell out of my skin. It's been like that for a good year. So i'm gonna do what you did liah and i'll use the Avene recovery cream tonight and I'm gonna only cleanse at night with the soon jung cleanser...and ill 'wash my skin with oat water. Pray for me guys..I hope it works. I'll update every 2 weeks and if the Avene recovery cream works I will buy their spring water mist/spray because I heard that it's really good.
Yesss! I combine your matcha cleanser with my cerave pm moisture pm i use it both in the morning and evening. Except i dont cleanse my face in the morning. The matcha cleanser has been so gentle to my skin didnt cause any irritation. The cerave pm moisturizer you must give it a try since its main function is to restore your skin’s natural protective barrier due to your sensitive skin, overexfoliated. As Liah yoo said, stop everythinggggghh guys and goodluck. Before using it i couldnt put anything. Even sheet mask was too harsh for my skin caused my skin so red and itchy and patches. Thanks to the matcha cleanser and the cerave moisturizer !!!
This is my 1st time commenting on a YT video, Liah, you have actually helped me clear my acne, I have watched almost all your videos and its been a great help to me, also I am a black girl and I have been wondering if i still need a sunscreen🤔🤔
I use the cerave foaming cleanser, then TO Hyaluronic acid + B5 and niacinamdie + zinc. I didn’t find TO Moisturising Factors + HA moisturising, so I switched over to Cerave moisturising lotion and Cerave has been stinging my skin in the mornings. I use the Paula’s choice bha most nights and this does not irritate my skin. I don’t know what is sensitising my skin or if is just the Cerave lotion alone that is sensitising my skin. Maybe it’s the niacinamdie.
You’re a such a skin saver for sensitive skin like mine after using harsh beauty products for my acne which I regret so much... why I only met you this time T.T
Thank goodness for this video 😊 winter still hasn't ended where I live and I keep getting eczema on my cheeks, I'm definitely trying the collodial oat water!
Wow! This is so hopefully my skin lately has been feeling super tight! I mean it might be the creams I'm on by the dermatologist but I have been using like 6 pumps of cleanser I need to step back with that and the oat water sounds good too🤔 ^^
I totally agree with this video. Earlier this year I used a product that burnt my face up to my neck. I couldn't put anything because it would sting (not even water... Like touching my face hurt) that bad! I used oatmeal same in this video, stopped all products even sunscreen for 3 days then gradually started moisturizer since my skin felt super dry. Great video liah!
Hey Liah ! I've just watched your video and I think it's very helpful, but instead of Avene recovery skin cream, is there any more affordable skin recovery creme ? hope you can show me XOXO
Sooo helpful LIAH! I damaged my skin barrier for over using my cosrx cleanser which contains BHA (used it twice or sometimes thrice a day). My skin is soooo red and irritated(with breakouts!!)... I am working on rebuilding my skin/lipid barrier by only using moisturizer and sunscreen-- but I probably would ditch my sunscreen for what I just heard from you.

Liah Yoo what AHA mask irritated your skin this much?
Liah Yoo being my skincare lecture please 😁💕
please bring back the cleanser :(
Hi Liah! I had a question so my skin barrier is not great and i'm trying to heal it by using more soothing products and my face wash isn't very calming so what do you think about the Soon Jung face cleanser? Is it good for healing sensitive skin? Thank you!❤
Liah Yoo I
I have one of the most sensitive face skins out there. Here's what you should avoid:
- using too much hot water on your face when showering
- cleansers
- pay attention to what you put on your face,if you use many products and find that your skin turns red, begin applying only one a day until you find the culprit and eliminate it
- don't use harsh exfoliants
- don't scrub your face when drying it with the towel,be extremely gentle and dab only
- blowing the hot air of the hair-dryer directly on your face
- applying anything like face creams and lotions right after the cleaning routine can irritate it, you wanna wait a few hours so the skin can go back to a relaxed state
- pay attention to natural oils, they too can cause irritation if you're allergic
- protect your skin with sunscreen if possible,at any time of the year or wear a large hat to protect it from sunlight (it also makes you look classy 😉)
- pay attention to waxing,it too can irritate the skin
- don't use facial peelers
- don't use bar soaps, certain types are really really harsh
- when showering, try to avoid any shampoo on your face, keep your head tilted to the back, as much as possible
- facial steamers
- dermarollers
- direct sunlight and heat from any source on your face (heaters and fireplaces)
- makeup
If I remember anything else,I'll come back and edit it.
can you suggest a good basic moisturizer for sensitive skin?
@@ayaangavandi6848 unfortunately no. I haven't yet found a good one myself. I personally use coconut oil.
@@SimonaShine Even I m having hard time in finding a good moisturizer 😟 Even Cerave doesn't suits me
Please what’s your present skincare routine
@@vivi744 It's very basic. I only uses a facial cleanser, rinse and apply some coconut oil for hydration and in the end sunscreen protection. That's it. I still haven't found anything to work with my face.
Rule no
1. 1:05 cleanser
2. 1:59 type of water
3. 4:01 skip everything only moisturiser
3. 6:33 skip sunscreen
4. 7:45 skip makeup (mineral>liquid)
avoid cleansing water/makeup wipes
5.8:59 stress and sleep management

Thank you brother

This vid is very timely as I'm having redness and irritation on my skin right now.. This is very helpful.. Thanks so much liah, will try the colloid oats water.. Love from Philippines.. ^_^

Liah you literally read my mind. I was looking into healing my skin from constant redness and irritation. Thank you so much for this informative video!
Hope you recover well :)
I’m just glad that I’m patient and consistent with my products.

amazingpm3 nope! You’re not alone! I’m right with you. I’m super hypersensitive skin.
Hi, same as mine. This started 5 years ago. Would you share your products as well? I'm struggling to find hypoallergenic and sensitive skin friendly products for years. Been going on trial and error. 😣

What facewash did you use with the hydrating booster?
Hi Liah! Can you do an updated video about different types of oils and their benefits? For example, sea buckthorn oil, borage seed oil, camellia oil, etc?
Yes!!! Oils part two :D
how long can you store the collodial oat water? could you make in bulk and store for daily use? I have eczema and sensitive skin so that would help me tremendously!
Stephanie Yun i would not store it for more than two days in the refrigerator, as It does not have any preservatives in it so the oatmeal water would be fair game for a bunch of hungry bacteria XD.
i won't be too stressed about tossing it. Oats are relatively cheap.
Ugh. I went way overboard and bought tons of new skin care products and now I have extremely angry skin. I’m going to give the oatmeal water a try! Thank you for making this video!!
Yes do it!! It works right away
Liah Yoo Not only did I wake up this morning to non-irritated skin (thank god!), but it looked better than it has in a long time! Thank youuuuuu
for some reason my skin has been dry and sensitive while its healing form all the damage i have done to it even if i use gentle products -.-thank you.
Perfect timing just used a clay mask that had amazing reviews and it left my skin burning and itchy. This goes to prove what might work for everyone else might not work for you and that's okay!:) Be patient with skincare and do your research~ good day
Yes exactly!!😅
hi do you mean aztec indian healing clay mask?
dominique barry omg i was about to use that today now im scared :(
I've eczema on my face with red patches on my cheeks, forehead and chin. No chemical at all
Whenever I have a bad skin day, I rewatch this. Thanks so much, Liah! 😘
What do you think of the First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream? It has ceramides and colloidal oatmeal in it as well.
Its good
Wow I love that oat water cleansing tip! Thanks so much for sharing 💖
Hey how is the result? I really wanna try it but i kinda scared
ooo i need that sweet sun visor lol
Haha HIGHLY RECOMMED!!
Liah Yoo which brand did you get? Many on amazon say they protect against uva but they do not. If you could recommend us the brand you bought would be amazing:)!
I got a super cute L'Oréal Korea ad in the style of an 8-bit video game. It was for a sun lotion, I think!
Naomi PR I thought I was the only one lol
Me too, it was so cute
I agreee on skipping sunscreen 😭 My skin is suffer badly after applying sunscreen when my skin is irrated 😫
Sun block very important try Neutrogena baby sunblock
Water babies !
Mineral sunscreen?
Yes. My very sensitive skin cant deal with sun screen . I dont even know whyyy
omg this happens to me now.....My face become red and irritated after applying the sunsreen:(
Thanks liah.
Maria Nik I have read that when you use honey, it should be raw. Haven’t tried it before though.
It’s perfectly safe :) this doesn’t feel heavy at all
Thank you so much for replying! 💕 I’m going to give it a try. Literally everything breaks me out so hopefully this doesn’t.
Emily G. Mineral oil are completely safe especially with people who has acne prone skin because it won't clog pores. This (mineral oil) and squalene are actually better than any other oil in the market.
Seconding sunny bunny on this! Mineral oil is perfectly safe. It's cosmetic-grade and has been thoroughly refined so there's nothing harmful left.
Loved this!
Thanks Amy! Miss you heaps xx
ahh love you Amy!! ✨ i would love to see you feature Liah on the AM with Amy one day!! 😊
I've tried all what you said in this video, and guess what its really really work ! All redness at my face disappear. Thank you so much !
Tried this oatmeal water as a mask, it really cool my irritation. Thanks, Liah.
Thank you ❤❤❤
Before four days, I applied a face pack at night time & went to sleep.
Love you
Oh... I NEVER get rid of the residue from my cleansers... I thought leaving them on would be safe, and everyone did it. Thank you!
I actually discovered Avene (and how good this brand is) a week ago after I got a burn from the Drunk Elephant TLC serum, and this moisturizer really healed my skin!!
N K I too had a bad reaction from drunk elephant products !
Cat RV I actually find out how to use it properly after watching gothamista's video, but I don't think I'm gonna use it again, it's too strong for my skin!
Do you need to make fresh oat water every night? Or are you able to use the same oat water for a while?
if your skin is irritated i personally think it’s best to use fresh oat water every night otherwise 3-5 days should be ok on normal skin
I used a new one every night. You can make small portions of it. I tried this for a week and it really did improve my skin
Joana De los Santos how did it improve your skin? Less acne? Less redness? Etc. Thanks! x
Do the rolled oats have to be organic so that it's safe to use on our faces??
Amelia Porter it calmed my skin. No more redness. I had to stop ALL products I'm using and just used oats. After 3 days the redness was gone as well as the itchiness and stinging.
I found you from James Welsh's channel!! So happy I did! My skin seriously needs these tips! My skin is acne prone and extremely sensitive to everything! It needs some healing right now. Amazing video! 😊❤️
i highly recommend Aveeno moisturiser (with oats!) or aloe vera gel as topical creams to soothe irritation
I use Aloe Vera gel. It’s nice and soothing and gently fading the red irritation.
When i have hypersensitivity I've done all the things right, but I was so stupid to not to avoid sunscreen 😅
I also have been using aloe vera gel on my skin as a gentle face mask and that has been working very well for me and it's really helped with the visible irritation of my skin.
what oil cleanser are you using? i’m having the same problems due to micellar water as well.
Hope your skin calms down💚
dear Liah, you just out of a sudden solved the mystery why my skin reacts so bad to avene anti redness / anti irritation moisturizer with spf🤯 🤯wow.
Thanks for sharing your skincare routine and your accutane journey with us. Stay strong sister 🙏🏼😘💚
Cetaphil also contains SLS...you might want to stay away from that. Use hydrating ones (with panthenol and HA)
y4miko where can I get accurate from
y4miko try Squalane oil! It has saved my skin! I have extremely dry, tight skin and it becomes painful sometimes. I pat it into my skin the. Add a few drops into my Aveeno ultra calming night cream and its amazing!!!!!!
@@kentvincentalburan3323 how about cerava moisturizing lotion?
Thank you for the video! Also, I would love to hear about anti-aging skin care for damaged or acne prone skin in the future
ooh I suggest using aqueous cream to take off remover when your skin is dry or hyper-sensitive! They're really cheap at the drugstore and you can use them as moisturiser/ mask as well. My dad has a skin condition and the doctors prescribed him aqueous cream and it's been working wonders!
Thanks for sharing xx
Agree! Stop everything and use Avene. Avene always my fav when I get my atopy or even eczema.
Liah Yoo thank you. I just ordered it, hopefully it helps. What is your skin type?
She have sensitive and oily skintype I think
This is such an amazing video! Especially with that sun visor xD Could you consider making a video about "natural" and "organic" skincare products?
Thank you
Basically summary: everything causes my skin to be irritated and i dont know what to do
Oh no :( seems like you already have broken skin.. have you tired consulting your doctor?
Liah Yoo ik i have really broken skin and all my attempts make it worse :(( the thing is im only 17 and living with my parents. I dont really have freedom to consult a doctor or dermatologist on my own. My mother is a retired nurse so she just bought me tablets for allergies. Ive been begging to go to a dermatologist for months and i was supposed to go to the doctor today for my eczema breakout until she concluded i dont need to and only need allergy tablets. :((
I dont know what to do anymore i just want healthy skin
My mother is a retired nurse but she doesnt specialize in skin care and i doubt an allergy tablet will fix it.
I took an antihistamine and am only using the most gentle of products - CeraVE hydrating cleanser + PM moisturizer and the REN Ultra Calming Rescue mask, it's day 3 and my skin is looking a lot better, but in the future I'm going to try to stay away from the acids!
afaith145 maybe you were purging? Or the percentage was too high for your skin?
I think the percentage was too high for my skin
I also use aloe vera gel (organiccccc) and dilute it in water (not tap) and use it to wash my face.. leaves it smooth and calmed
The oat water works so well!! Thank you 💗
Aw I wish you'd released this video a month ago, my skin was so sensitized and everything stung and I had hives on my temples ugh it was the worst.
I discovered the 7 skin method and it was the solution to my irritated and very sensible skin. It s a miracle for me!!!!
If u have acne prone skin is it okay to use a cleansing oil?
if u need to skip sunscreen u can still kinda protect ur skin w/ carrot seed, and raspberry seed oils, they have some natural sunscreen. also vitamin e is awesome for the sun, its an antioxidant. i use this for indoor sunscreen cuz i dont like putting on sunscreen indoors if im only getting minimal light
im totally agree with skip the sunscreen 😭 i have acne prone skin and it’s really hard for me apply the sunscreen 😭
this is the best video I've ever watched. thanks for this. I hope and wish my skin really gets better 😳
Thank you so much for doing this video. My skin has been having this reaction and I've been wondering what to do!
I say also avoid foaming cleaners as well ? As foam can dry out skin
I really enjoy watching your videos. I can learn a lot of new things! Give me one more suggestion. Can I use a toner during this period?
The best moisturizer to use when this happens is Vanicream. It has absolutely nothing in it that could even remotely cause irritation or allergic reaction. It's truly medical grade skincare in the sense that anyone can use it, even newborn babies and people with the most intolerant skin
Hello, would you recommend excersice when your skin is super sensitive like this? Your videos are so helful, thank you c:
Colloidal oat wash is genius!!!
Thank you sistah! Actually im not in hypersensitivity, but I miss your voice so i clicked it💕
i have just had an allergic reaction and i woke up with redness tiny bumps all over my face and it is really sensitive and itchy , i have watched multiple videos on how to deal with it and i have just been using e45 moisturizer and as my skin is flaking i have been using water to wash my face, i might try the oat water, also loving the tips
might try it ... once skin inflames it dont stop. haha ... your cotton pads look soft ... hard to not inflame skin if scrubbing it or touching it ... oat meal i might try ... probably my diet and stress ..
Thank you so much for the video and all the information!! I always learn so much from your videos.
Everyone needs sunscreen !
first time hearing of colloidal oat wash but since i do get flare ups of rosacea, i'm keen on trying this!
Can I save the oatmeal water? Do I store it in the fridge (& and for how long?) love you Liah!!!!
Amazing, this is exactly what may dermatologist said. She also recommended the Avene Skin Recovery cream.
Will this clear up my acne ?
Ahhh I remember that IG story :( I'm glad your skin is better now!
Is there an updated version of this? GBR is released already and I was wondering how you can incorporate GBR into healing over exfoliated skin
I use a microfiber cloth and warm water to remove makeup. :) Takes off 80-90% of my makeup without cleanser! Then I can wash my face after.
Thank u! I really need this a lot right now as my skin very mad at me 😂😭 btw can I use aloe Vera gel as a moisturiser ?
