    My note:
    1. Less is more
    2. Drop sheet mask for a while.
    3. Oil makeup remover to be avoided, use cleansing water instead such as Loreal Cleansing water
    4. Toner such as SoonJung
    5. Cosrx snail essence is good good )
    6. Honey based is good for fungal acne
    7. Aloepropoes?? Gel moisturizer
    8. Hada labo moisturizer has urea which is a good ing for fungal acne
    9. If want a milky moisturizer use Toleriane Liquid La Roche Posay. Highly recommended bz has ing very good. Depends on where it come out version.
+++Indie Lee Squalane oil WoW WoW
    10. Avène tolérance perfect for iritated skin
    11. Aveeno night cream
    12. Cotz skin tinted for sunscreen 100% mineral, not clogged pores
    13. Elta MD UV clear original vers sunscreen
    #Treatment
    14. Nizoral antidandruff syampoo has active ingredients (ketoconazole) to prevent growth fungal. Apply on forehead/fungal spot only for 10 minutes. Please washes it off.
    15. I dont catch that ( . Something about honey
    16. Stridex Maximum, but it too strong only for thick skin pp
    17. Aveeno clear complexion moisturizer, has effective ing. Gentle to skin
    18. Paulas Choice BHA Liquid, but it has one ingredient not safe for fungal acne
    19. ??
    20. So that's is it.

I would love that as I don't want to have to think about ingredients in products (so lazy) and just apply/ use a routine that already has carefully selected products to prevent/reduce fungal acne! :)

Got fungal acne a week ago after sweating heavily and using a cleaning oil for the first time...😅
*For those not sure on how to use the nizoral in their skincare routine, here's how I did it:*
    1. I first rinse my face with water to remove any surface oils
    2. Lightly pat my face dry with a disposable towel
    3. Apply a dime sized amount on my forehead; spread thin on infected areas
    4. Wait 10-15 minutes (sidenote: I slowly increased the amount of time I left the nizoral on my face by 5 minutes as the days progressed)
    5. Emulsify nizoral with lukewarm water and gently washed my forehead like I would with any other cleanser
    6. Rinse thoroughly!
    7. Followed up with my regular cleanser as nizoral can dry out your skin and shouldn't be used as a stand alone face cleanser
    8. After using a *Cerave SA Renewing Cleanser* , I lightly swipe away any excess water off my face
    9. Now is a good time to start locking in the moisture since my face is still slightly damp, I go in with *Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist*
    10. ☀️And finish it off with the *Hada Labo Skin Plumling Gel Cream* 🌑 At night, I use my curology treatment instead of the gel since it has 0.25% zinc pyrithione, 4% niacinamide, and no fungal promoting ingredients
The first four days I didn't see much of a difference, but after the fifth day, I woke up with fewer acne bumps and my fungal activity visibly reduced.
This is what worked for me! One website that really helped my determine which products to use and to avoid was:
    www.sezia.co/
It's not perfect, but it really made checking long ingredient lists quick and easy. 😊

I have been using Real-u foaming cleanser, Cosrx BHA, Hada Labo Premium Lotion (has urea!) and the Ordinary Squalane (more moisturising and faster absorbing for me than rosehip, jojoba, argan and marula oils)

hello, i had suffered fungal acne and i got rid of it really fast using these methods.
    1. keep those areas from oil
    2. using calamine and zinc oxide powder that’s usually used for prickly heat. What i used was Cussons Baby prickly heat protection powder. it keeps the fungal acne dry and calm those bumps.
    hope this helps!

So I had to come back to this video and honestly say thank you so much. Your two videos on fungal acne have really helped me in my skin care journey, and honestly my skin has done such a 360 that at first I didn't even recognise the change until a month back when I looked at old pictures and video's of myself from last year. My skin was horrific, dry, oily and a pimpley mess! it was flakey and disgusting especially as I wear makeup on a daily basis, my skin looked very cakey beneath layers of foundation. The other day when I was going to pick up new foundation, I was heavily praised on how glowy my skin was and I felt so proud.

Sebamed's moisturizer is a good option too! I have fungal acne and I have been using this for so long. Although it does not heal acne, it does not aggravate the skin and calms the skin down. Since it is gel based it might not be as moisturizing as the cream based so it is recommended to add squalane oil to it!!

I remember first watching this video when it just came out, and wondering if the bumps on my face had anything to do with fungal acne. I look further into it and all signs pointed in this direction. Stared using nizoral anti dandruff shampoo on my face and chest every night before bed and in 2 months there was a dramatic difference. This video literally helped to cure my skin, and I had been dealing with fungal acne on my face for about 4 years... before then I had it on but back, but with dermalogical help it was taken care of. If you've had any similar issues and you think it could potentially be caused by fungal acne... do a little research and see a professional if u can. It helps alot.

I really need to thank you sooo much. Your first video on fungal acne made me realize that that is probably what I had. A whole new world of remedies and skincare opened up and it has helped me A LOT. I don't even think I can understand how good the results have been with e.g. anti-dandruff shampoo. Will definitely try to use some of these products as well to get even better results hopefully. Thank you so much

I took antibiotics for a tonsil inflammation, and towards the end of taking them, I QUICKLY broke out in a bunch of small little red bumps on my chest neck and jaw line. It's been a few weeks of just trying to avoid make up and products and not knowing what was causing this break out, but I think it definitely seems like it might be fungal acne. Thanks so much for this video and your other one on fungal acne. ♡ Super informative. I'm gonna try some of the cheaper treatments and see if it helps. ~

Can you cover acne that appears on the chin and jawline? I've heard they're "hormonal acne" and are different from acne caused by excess oil and etc. :o I don't have acne on my T-zone but these stubborn ones still appear despite following an AHA/BHA cleanser, hydrate, some active ingredients, rosehip oil and moisturizing routine at night and only wash with water, then moisturize and sunscreen in the morning. (I'm in my early 20s)

WinnielyGamer most prob hormonal though. I’m in my mid 20s, but my chin and jaw area still goes crazy. Especially when travelling or changing a new lifestyle

    • @carolinesa91
      @carolinesa91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Probably hormonal. I didn't struggle with acne in my teenage years, but when I hit 21 and started using contraceptives, my chin was taken by deep cystic acne. Best strategy: avoid sugar/ starches/refined carbs, soy, dairy, contraceptive pills and stress since these are the biggest hormone disruptors there are. Eat a lot of veggies (organic, preferably), vitamin A (liver, egg yolks) and omega 3 (salmon, sardines). Make sure your digestion is working well, this too can cause acne and inflammation in the body.

It could be fungal acne. Fungal acne is just COMMONLY on the forehead. I currently have fungal acne on my forehead, a little on my cheeks, shoulders, back, and chest, I also have it on my smile lines, and all over my chin/jawline. It’s painful and also itchy, sometimes aggressively itchy. I first discovered it when I tried a sulfur acne cream that was at my local Walmart and actually saw results for once. Check out this post someone made: simpleskincarescience.com/pityrosporum-folliculitis-treatment-malassezia-cure/ They are very knowledgeable about the science involved in the ingredients we put on our skin and how it can affect fungal acne. EVERY INGREDIENT IN THE SKINCARE WE USE CAN AFFECT FUNGAL ACNE.

I have seborrheic dermatitis, which is often caused by malessezia, and the best treatment I've found by far is ISDIN Nutradeica. I don't know if you can get it outside Europe, but it's seriously worth looking into it. It's a lightweight gel-cream type of product that is super easy and quick to add to the routine. My flare-ups tend to be in the summer and it's hydrating enough that I can usually skip moisturiser afterwards. I use it twice a day during a flare-up and then only once a day afterwards or if I see it's coming back. It's just a really good balancing treatment. I highly recommend it for everyone with seborrheic dermatitis and it's probably worth checking it out if you suffer from fungal acne as well.

Hi just wanted to comment about how I’ve cleared 98% of my fungal acne on my forehead for the past 17 days with less than 5 products but mainly it was the Benton aloe propolis that treated me, it might not work for everyone but I just apply a generous amount on my face as an overnight mask and the next day i will wake up with a very smooth skin :) as I stay in singapore, the weather just kind of lets the acne thrive because of the heat, don’t know if my combination skin was the cause of this for the past few years even tho I’m only 15 TT I only have the fungal acne on my T-zone. No one would probably see this comment but hope this helps 😚
    (Skincare routine): Morning & Night
•[Krave Beauty matcha cleanser] this is not 100% safe as what Liah had said in the description but I don’t really mind what kind of cleanser I used because it’s just a wash off product
•[Etude House Soon Jung Toner pH 5.5] I use it with a cotton pad in the morning while in the night I use my hands to pat in the toner
•[Cosrx propolis light ampule] I didn’t really see anything happening with this, like I don’t really need it so I just use it at night
•[Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing gel] I use it both in the morning + night and regardless of anytime throughout the day when I feel like I have nothing to do I just apply some onto my face it kind of treats my fungal acne faster
•[Etude House sunprise mild perfect relief spf 30 pa++] I couldn’t find any sunscreen that was available but I happen to stumble upon this website www.skincarisma.com/ I heard lots of people finding this website helpful to them :) I found this sunscreen that was fungal acne free, it does not leave a white cast if u try to really blend it into your face, not the nicest texture and it may get oily after a while but i don’t mind, if not u can apply the innisfree no sebum mineral powder which I use sometimes if my face gets oily on the T-zone.
Hope this helps people who doesn’t wanna use nizoral or other products as your treatment / can’t get the treatment products in your country :)

I've been suffering from fungal acne for almost a year now. I recently started using this 1 cream.Yes you are reading it right: JUST 1 CREAM. It's from La Roche Posay and it's called effaclar duo + It did wonders on me. I've been using it twice a day for 5 days now and I see so much reduction in the fungal acne, it's really unbelievable!! Everybody should really try this!! I've tried everything else: antibiotics, antimyotics, glutenfree/nutsfree/peanutfree/chocolatefree diet, nirazol cream, washing my face with head and shoulders shampoo (burned my skin and the fungal acne just went on spreading even on the burned/dry/flaky skin💀) hormonal creams (did work, but when I stopped using it it would just come back much stronger in a few days!!)

But after 1,5 weeks I can say it definitely reduced my fungal acne. See I was looking for 1 product to heal my fungal acne. But I found out that it just doesn't work that way. Like this cream it worked for a few days, but soon I started breaking out again and had to try something else in addition. I'll post my current routine in a few minutes here. Current routine: I still use the La Roche posay cream twice a day. But now in the evening I clean my face with La Roche Posay eau mineral, then I put the head and shoulders shampoo (classic clean) on my face for 5 min and then wash it off. Then I exfoliate my skin with 2% salicylic acid extra strong of Paula's choice. After 15 min I proceed to apply the La Roche Posay cream (effaclar duo+ on the areas with fungal acne) and after a few minutes I use Sebamed soap as a mask on the area's with the fungal acne (so on top of the la roche posay cream). And I'm taking probiotics that amongst others contains the strain: Lacto bacillus paracasei!
I'll keep you all updated on the progress! It's a lot of products but this is the only time when my fungal acne has been so reduced that I don't feel insecure about it anymore. I have been through hell! Everyday I would get atleast 8-10 new pimples, my entire face would hurt😭 And now I have days without any new pimples. The past week I maybe got 3 new pimples. I'm not there yet, but for me it's already a huge reduction. I also cut out wheat, all nuts, peanuts and chocolate (already for 4 months now). I hope this helps someone!

I have Fungal acne since 1 1/2 years and my (perfect!) routine is:
Make up remover with Squalane (Isana, Germany), MCT Oil (Amazon), Garnier 2in1 Waschgel (only Germany?), Isntree Green Tea Toner (Spray), Hada Labo Premium Toner or Isntree Hyaluron toner, Centella Asiatica ampoule from Skin 1004 Madagaskar, Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel Cream is not available anymore here, but they have a perfect dupe: the perfect gel (yellow tub, 100ml and cheaper). The best moisturizer for Fungal acne is Cerave cream in the tub! I hate the cotz sunscreen, it’s like a mask. Elta md clear is always pilling. The perfect one is ISDIN Fusion water pediatrics (Germany, without alcohol).
For Treatment I use Tretinoin 0,05%, BHA (Paulas choice liquid, it’s not 100% safe, Bravura London BHA is safe). Aha Gel from Paulas choice is safe, too.
And the most important: fungus cream (like you use when you have excema of fungus) on the pimples over night.
    You‘re welcome 😉

Okey so I have had the same problem, I have been trying for a very long time to get rid of these small bumps and finally they are going away. I don't know if this will help you but one thing that has helped me so much is using a clay mask. The one I have been using is one with Moroccan rhassoul clay. So I started using it about two months ago after trying so many products (I also tried the shampoo that you were talking about). In the beginning I used it every night and when the bumps started to go away I started using it every other day and then 1-2 times a week. I really understand how you are feeling, I felt like the bumps wouldn't go away and that nobody understood since it wasn't like "normal" red acne. Skincare science and reddit saved my skin and helped me get rid of Fungal acne. It's been a month and 90 % of my FA is gone. I got fungal acne because my skin was dehydrated because of acids and not enough hydration. What helped was hydrating / moisturizing my skin a lot , changing my entire routine / products and using ketaconazole shampoo ( anti fungal ) 3 - 4 times a week.
Right now I'm only using the shampoo once a week for maintenance and trying tretinoin twice a week since its recommended to use a keratolytic igredient or retinoids once you are cleared.

      @aeolia80 6 ปีที่แล้ว +30

no, you can get it on the jawline too. Mine was more in the jawline than in the forehead, it wasn't cystic or infected, just clogged pores. If you're able to get anything out of the pores, one of the biggest signs it's fungal is the smell, if it has a bready smell to it, there's a good chance it's fungal. I tried everything, because my jawline was horribly clogged. Then I read Simple Skincare Science's blog, and everything he suggested worked. He goes into real detail on the blog with legit science to back it up. Liah first did a video on this based on reading his blog. But again, just because fungal acne usually occurs on the forhead, does not mean it can't be any place else. What type of acne it is has less to do with placement and more to do with how it behaves.

    • @dumbgenious1960
      @dumbgenious1960 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

You can get it anywhere where there's a hair follicle technically, but it's mostly an issue on the forehead. If you have small colourless bumps on the jawline, it is still malassesia folliculitis

Liah I've done research into which ingredients in the Kale-lalu-yAHA grow fungal acne and I only found 1 its polysorbate 80 I'm not sure if having one ingredient truly effects fungal acne or not I'm really curious I might have to do a trial test and see if I have less or more while trying the dandruff shampoo! I love all your products !

I live in Malaysia so everyday is hot. I've been using skincare Benton Aloe Propolis Gel & Benton Snail Bee essence. My forehead was sooo clear. Once I bought & use the Somebymi red tea tree toner , then suddenly I have this small bumps on my forehead not itchy though. I checked the ingredients it is NOT FUNGAL ACNE SAFE. Before this, I wasn't sure I had fungal acne or not. After using SBM Red tea tree toner, now I know...
I also like the SoonJung toner, very light 😊

So I get a lot of milia and because I cannot resist, I tend to squeeze them. This leads to really bad bruising and really bad scars. I have so many scars due to this. I am in need of finding products to treat this. Help a girl out or please make a video about it!

I'm someone with oily, fungal acne and milia-prone skin. I just straight up skip any eye creams and only use COSRX snail mucin as eye cream and moisturiser (summer) and during dryer weather add a layer of Benton Aloe Propolis soothing gel. Most eye creams give me milia.

    • @Syd7088
      @Syd7088 5 ปีที่แล้ว

i had milias before and the best way for me is to use small needle (trust me, super satisfy) . I noticed it's because of the use of Tatcha The Essence despite I love this brand so much. :(

Lizza Connie they usually itch but not necessarily, as long as they’re super small and you can’t pop them they’re considered as fungal

I was going fungal acne free because of Thayers Witch Hazel Toner + St. Ives GT scrub. However, my interest in skincare caused me to layer a lot of products on my face (thinking it would be ok) and few bumps did come back. I’m gonna cut back on the layering. Thanks for the vid!!

I used the U.F.O Ultra clarifying face oil(1.5% salicylic acid) and It got rid off all of the bumps in one week.
