    He also reviews the exterior and interior design of the BMW X7 Facelift, shows the passenger and cargo space and test driving the car. Next, he talks about the differences between the 2923 BMW X7 xDrive40i and the X7 M60i, and which one should you buy.

    BMW X7 M60i or 40i? V8 vs. six-cylinder

    • @willblack2306
      @willblack2306 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a hard choice. The heart says definitely the M60i - particularly with that new S68 beast but the mind goes for the 40i for fuel efficiency reasons.
      This car is awesome. The sparkling copper grey colour looks stunning particularly when it catches the light. The two tone interior looks gorgeous and compliments the new curved display. Excellent job by BMW. I have to agree with you @Horatiu this could very well be a completely new car than just a mere LCI.

      I own a 2022 BMW X7 40i. It has plenty of power and the 6 is so smooth. The 2023 has even more power so I would stick with the 40i. Nothing wrong with the 60i, I just do not need that much go in a family vehicle.

    M60 without a doubt. I mean if you can afford this, then go for the top of the range and enjoy that sweet engine😁

      Depends. The 40i is easily strong enough. These big SUVs aren't usually driven like sports cars, and the 40i gives you more range. Plus it should give a little less vibrations? Imo important in a luxury car.

    would be great to hear a review of the 40d ... is it pretty much the same as 40i? less power + more torque = same ... and some comment on Lane Assist deletion on Individual colours (even without metalic)

    My 2022 x40i is just fine and drives amazing. Test drove the 2024 models and hate the big screen and the ride was the same. The v8 models are worthless to have especially just for more gas and power and much higher to insure. The six is plenty for the road.

    I'd do the M60. BUT I have an i4 M50 coming (scheduled for production finally!) Anyways, great video as always.

      Terry, we're about to order X7 40d or M60i ... a bummer we can't get hardly any configuration, eg the Dynamic Suspension on 40d in AU :( ... did you manage any deal or list

  • @Andrew-kr2qg

    That’s a very nice suv. I would love the V8’s performance (not that it’s essential in a large suv, but I know I would enjoy it). More importantly, I would like to know if the 40i (with the B58) would be significantly more reliable than the M60i (N63?).

    • @bmwblog
      @bmwblog  ปีที่แล้ว

      The M60i has a new engine - S68. So tough to say...it will take years to know which one is more reliable

    • @Andrew-kr2qg
      @Andrew-kr2qg ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bmwblog does the S68 have any changes from the previous generation of the V8 that supposedly had problems related to rod-bearings or the HOT-V configuration? Also, do you know if the V8s from the M-performance vs true M (e.g. M550 vs M5) have physical differences that result in one or the other being more reliable? Obviously the S-designated engines are tuned for higher output, but if the components are built to handle the increased power than the reliability of M engine vs M-performance engines would still be the same?
      All that said, it would even be nice to know if the b58/s58 (3.0L I6) vs an N63/S68 4.4L V8s) if all tuned to the same hp & torque would have the same reliability or if the I6 engine would be more reliable in the long run compared to the HOT-V configuration, even though it’s a smaller displacement. Not sure if these questions can be answered without the test of time, but in any case we are moving towards the era of electrification, so perhaps it won’t matter in the long run. 😆

    I would go for the six-cylinder. It's one of the best engines out there, and has plenty of power.
