During his divorce from his first wife it was reported how he assaulted her for remarking how much he was complaining about the pain he was suffering from these types of procedures. He pulled out large chunks of her hair to demonstrate his suffering. No amount of money would get me to stay with such a monster as Trump.

This is the first ever episode from your series that I've seen... just plain awesome, this is not a topic I would usually follow, but I am hooked! I mean - what a professional presentation in every way... and want an incredible presentation/delivery - I showed this to my wife to highlight how well you pace - most folks go way to fast... but the enunciation and pace is perfect and allows "slower" brains to catch up and follow the topic. Also I find it quite ironic - in that you (respectfully) are a great looking face and it is complemented by your confidence (zero arrogance) - just very pleasant and relatable. Best of success, and I've really enjoyed many episodes! Finally, add the respect and dignity with which you approach the discussion on individuals that irrespective of how we may feel about them are still human beings - you are one impressive Dr. and with the talent to discuss topics and explain them to they lay folks - thanks!
As a newspaper reporter with thousands of interviews in my career, I am also struck by how pitch perfect this doctor's delivery and enunciation are. A pleasant, informative and concise discussion of the head of a man we all hate and despise....
He also has the correct choice of words. "Complex combing to look the way that it usually does" is a prime example of good language usage.

It's also important to look at pictures of his mother's hair--super fine and combed, styled and sprayed into place. People with thinning hair always seem to think that length is going to give them the look of thick hair, hence the combover, the teasing and the spraying to hold it in place. His mother's hair stylist joked that she went through a large can of hairspray a week, constantly touching up her hairdo with more spray, industrial strength! Excellent video--I wish more surgeons viewed their work artistically!

Even though I was the third son and went bald soonest, I was comfortable with it. My ex-wife insisted I apply Rogaine but I began to have side-effects. My insistence on not dying because I was balding contributed to our divorce. IT's HAIR, NOT YOUR IDENTITY!!! You should be growing up as you grow old....

I heard that one of the problems with scalp reductions is that sometimes the resulting scar widens over time as the scalp tries to stretch back to its original location, resulting in a wide, scarred, hairless area between the flaps.

As a former hair transplantee I will strongly recommend: if your hair is thinning, just go the full-bald route. You will have to take finasteride the rest of your life to prevent other non-transplanted top hair from thinning and it has its own side effects. Not only that but one FUE procedure alone is typically not full enough to look natural so you'd likely need 2, about 6 months apart and a ton of $$$. I hated my hair before and after the transplant but I've never loved it more since going completely bald. Less maintenance and most guys will have a head that looks good with it
Hopefully, someday, that little fringe of hair above the ears will return to style...women don't really care after the full head of beautiful hair is gone--but we lose a lot of ours as well, to be honest. When men just needed the fringe trimmed, and women just wore hair cut simply, no one had nearly the expense or time consumption and their egos accepted it without shame. I remember those guys...I worked with a lot of them, while my dad wore this giant corkscrew we tried not to look at bc it was so ugly. Until they invent Norplant or permeant-type treatments, we need to accept aging. But it's so hard.

The most notable thing to me is that he had dark brown hair for most of his life then it went strawberry blond. I guess that covers gray more naturally?
A lot of people don't realise how obvious a dye job looks when they use a dark colour. It's better to go for lighter shades, unless you have very dark eyes and skin. Then sometimes it is better just to go with nature
It is not real strawberry blonde and some people really age like that. One of my grandmas had a similar haicolour with 70.

Watching this, I noticed that Trump and I have had the exact same hair color changes, at the same phases in life, so I'm wondering if I'm about to go strawberry blonde. My grandmother and great aunt went through the same changes, and ended up with light red and white hair.

Back then, hair plugs and flaps were most common. But I found the plugs procedure hard to watch!

There was a claim that he'd had a botched procedure at the back of his head. This led to pain and bad scarring, leaving the area unable to grow hair. He keeps that hair long and tries to hide the scars and lack of hair. Over all, this was very informative.

I dated a cosmetologist/barber back when I began to see male-pattern alopecia myself, and she recommended shampoo that broke down DHT before it could begin to strangle my hair follicles. As a result, I don't have to shave my head. Thank you for what you do sharing your expertise.

I always went with the "flap" procedure theory because it made a lot of sense given the directional pattern of his hair. I WILL say whatever they did to manipulate his hair is extremely resilient and that's the one pro to whatever it is holding his hairline in place.

Very informative and eye-opening, especially to people like me who are not familiar with hair procedures. Now I have better appetite to read further about rotational flaps, as well as FUT and FUE procedures. Now I can also roughly figure out when someone's hairline is too low relative to the natural position. My husband, at 79, still has really thick hair, but I was interested to hear about the 3 sections of the face, as he's always had a low hairline. Found myself looking from the screen to his face, trying to work out his facial proportions!😅 His hair started going grey at 37, but still needs a haircut every month. I agree. His hair has alway looked fake. He has never had a natural-looking procedure done on his hair. Most of that is due to the fact that he was getting the best-available hair replacement at the time, but the procedures were primitive by today’s standards.
It’s really like everything else about him. He is desperate to present himself as being more intelligent, more savvy, more fit, and more of a winner than he actually is. He seems to think that everyone believes everything he says - like that he weighs 215 pounds or that he won the 2020 election. Stallone had one of the earliest versions of direct hair implantation in 1992/3 (in his home) when filming Cliffhanger. In the movie they used dark concealer to hide his scalp and combed his hair forward. Of course he’s had many procedures since.

The areas referred to as scars look like parts. The hair line of bygone decades did appear consistent with plugs, and more recently as flaps. He's a resilient man and is in great shape. He wants his hair to look good too. I thought it looked good when he let it return to it's natural color when he was President and just post-COVID. To each his own.

Rotational flap transplant sounds brutal.
The takeaway lessons here for me are all about waiting until cosmetic procedures have been refined to a certain level before having them done. Having the money to do something when it’s new doesn’t make the decision to do it wise.

the current hairline restoration techniques will seem archaic in the future. i think people should just take the pubes and put them on the head.
@@minigiant8998 that would work better for beard hair or if you tend to keep your hair very short. Remember the hair will grow in the same fashion and texture.
I would like to know is it possible to perform hair transplant from one person to another? Similar to organ transplants when they match. Would strangers with a compatible gene/dna/bloodtype work? Or perhaps a sibling with shared DNA?
One future procedure I could see emerge would be taking stem cell samples from a patient and duplicating the samples until you had a large enough mass then stimulating them to transform into hair follicle cells through some form of biochemical method, then implanting these hairs into the head, completely bypassing the need for grafts.

I have just seen the bilder of Mary Anne tRump (neé Mac Leod) the Trumpet's mom, in Google. Her hair was changing colour like his, but was obviously anders, BC her styling was very feminine and elaborate.

I am a 40-year-old woman. I am getting older. Giving birth to a child speeds up the process of getting older. While (later at live ) pregnant I was shedding like a German shepherd. No matter how much power walking and running on the treadmill I do I am still getting floppy. I am just getting older. I am 162 cm and 60kg of weight. Not ideal...I know. But I would have never considered several plastic surgeries to look younger. I am not! I am happy with who I am. Could I look better? Sure! But I have a life to live! To be happy! I don't have time to look pristine! I could... sure! through a severe diet and more exercise, and make-up.... but I just don't want to want to waste my life like that! I want to Live! And be happy!
If you’re 162cm and 60kg, that puts your BMI at ~ 23.4, which is a normal BMI. Normal BMI is 18.5-24.9, so you’re not overweight with a BMI pd 23.4.

Well good for you. Some of us think differently about our appearances and choose to do procedures or surgeries to feel better about how we look. I’ve had laser hair removal and it’s the best investment in myself I ever could have made. I’ve also had plastic surgery and I plan on having more. So what? I’m happy with myself, too. Different strokes for different folks, right?

You could do a full nutritional profile with a blood test. Some nutrients are very important for hair and nails. Also a microbiom intestinal flora test for you overall healt but also to check if your body can absorb nutrients and supplements properly. Thanks to modern denatured food many have problems here without knowing it.
I can’t imagine being a surgeon that does these hair procedures. It seems so tiny and precise. Kudos to you and other surgeons for what y’all do, whether it’s for our health or cosmetic.

From personal experience, once you get a transplant done, it itches really bad, but you can't scratch it. And it never goes away completely.

Don’t think that finasteride was available in 1985 for treatment for baldness or bph? This wasn’t until the early 90s for bph and later even for the clinical trials for MPB to mature and allow fda approval
The rotational flap surgeries are scaring me. Especially after the mention of possible flap necrosis. I feel like you'd have to be real brave to undergo that procedure.

I also have a vortex on the right side where my hair parts and I look the same when I comb it over from left to right against my vortex. Combing it over the vortex makes the hair look fuller in general. It seems his father instilled this combing trick in him early on.
08:39 Wow. He combs his hair over way lower on the left side now to conceal the scars of a rotational flap. I never understood why he combed it over so ridiculously low on the left. Now, I learned he does so to conceal a scar of a rotational flap.
