I do enjoy this content a whole lot Freddy! Be it the running, your current weight loss progress, work/life balance updates - it's all very interesting. Your capacity for all that you do with working with your health both in running and losing weight, work, travel, TH-cam and having a family is inspiring and impressive to me. And I am sure that's the case with alot of people watching you as well. Thank you for the work you put in.
Thanks Frank, I just go with the flow and hope it works out 😊
I was tired just from watching this. What a schedule! You’ve done brilliantly to get through the week, and to maintain your discipline in respect of food, alcohol and running.
Well done on the weight loss pal. I’m delighted for you!
🤣 - just got to roll with the punches
@@freddyruns I’m in London 3 days this week (two trips). Your mindset re food and drink it my new inspiration. I still do my runs when I’m away with work, but then end up out with colleagues and undo all the work….‘what would Freddy do’ will be the new mantra!!
Seriously, well done mate. You’ve got a great mindset.
I’m on week 5 of my Mounjaro journey, I’ve gone from 109.2kg to 101.9kg in that time. It’s amazing what it does to your mindset about food.
It’s a game changer! Congratulations on the loss 🙏
@@ainsworm1985 Amazing result there for you . Ignore all the negativity there seems to be around at the moment about this treatment……follow the diet and exercise a bit and the weight literally falls off. Agree that this is an absolute game changer
Heart rate going up when running is something I’ve experienced too on these meds, so I’m just sticking with slow runs to keep the fitness there, and more strength training while on this weight loss journey - but I think it’s pretty common - as long as we keep our legs turning over and get in some mileage we will build up the speed again later when we are lighter 😊😊😊
Sounds like a plan 😎
Fantastic result Freddy…. I got out for a 6 k this morning and like you I’m finding my heart rate quick to rise …..however now on week 5 and over 8kg lighter I’m finding my
running enjoyable again and my knees aren’t complaining half as much. Longest I’ve stuck to a diet is 3 days before crumbling 😂.
What’s great with this is the results are fast and it keeps you motivated….no weeks where you do the miles and lose nada.
I’m hoping when I hit goal and come off the Mounjaro I’ll be able to not revert to eating rubbish calories again….I see this as a body reset….I’m 60 now and dont want to spend another however many years trying to sort my weight out.
It’s obvious you’re going to smash it and I can see you on a sub 24 5k
pretty soon.
Nice one. Fair play for keeping it real. I'm on week three.. I'm not dropping very fast but my clothes feel different and I feel just generally thinner. mad. all positive though. keep going!
Wow that's some long distance driving! Great to see that the Mounjaro is helping you avoid all those service-station temptations.
Interesting content thanks for sharing.
I’m on day 5 and it’s a struggle to write how much I’ve lost without laughing.
My afternoon weigh-in photo for the doctor on Monday last week was 16st10lbs.
7 days later, and 5 days after my first 💉 , my weight this morning was 15st08lbs 😮
It is crazy. I’m having to use willpower too but the best way to describe it is that I feel like I did when I used to start a diet in my twenties- quick and obvious results that encourage you to keep going rather than the past ten years where I last a few days, maybe lose half a lb and then binge eat it back and more.
I’m a cyclist rather than runner and yes, exercise isn’t fun on this drug but who cares- it’s winter and I can afford to lose some power at the minute.
I’m obviously not expecting things to carry on the same or I’ll only be on it for one month 😂
Side effects for me so far are….. about ten burps. That’s it.
Good luck with it- I look forward to your next update.
That’s incredible loss! Congratulations mate, so good!
excellent content. Helped as my first injection two days ago.
Best of luck mate
Just stumbled across this vid, very timely as I am a week behind you, and also about to restart running after an illness lay off. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
That's insane progress in two weeks, wow!
It’s going well 😊
Here from tiktok. Great to see some long form content. Good luck on your journey, it's inspiring.
TikTok? I don’t use it 🤷♂️
Welcome aboard though 😊
Haha oh my bad. Perhaps you should! Haha Followed a few from there onto here, none quite this good.
@ appreciate that mate, thank you 😊🙏
Great video. Really enjoying the videos.
That was a brutal week for you with so much travel and time in the car. Must be exhausting. Great job staying disciplined.
Regarding alcohol and work, I get a lot of anxiety with it as I always feel nervous about saying I'm not drinking when out with work or at an event or something
Thanks mate.
Yeah, I’ve quickly adapted and am happy to say no to booze… if I’m honest, I actually felt pretty proud of myself saying no 🤷♂️
I’m on week 2 as well im about the same build as you I’ve lost about 9 pounds as of today it’s the wed of the second week I’ve had too eat what I’ve wanted I’ve had a drink at the weekend and normally I can eat for 3 people when I start on the cakes usually it’s game on 😂and to be honest it hasn’t been difficult if I’ve wanted something I’ve had it ive had no side effects so far so good my thinking is if it’s hard work then it’s no different to any other diet and at the price it costs it should work.. also remember this exercise makes you hungry so don’t get caught up in going crazy running while trying to diet .. I used to ride a bicycle professionally years ago so I know this is what used too happen with me when trying to lose weight the diet and exercise…. this has got to be sustainable in the long run when you stop the mounjaro
I’ve just had a wall nut whip and a banana 😂 cause I felt like it
Enjoying hearing of your journey. Week 2 for me. I’ve been running 2 to three times a week for over 10 years. My best weight was running 6 times a week but stress fracture my metatarsal and had to lay off for 3 months. Try to do 30-40 on gym sessions but the last couple of years my weight has gone up 10kg so I need something different. Eating in restaurants is a big challenge, currently in Barbados so Rum punch can be tempting..,
Rum….. my favourite!!!
Just found your channel and really enjoying
Thank you ☺️
Nothing but admiration mate. Hope the link is useful
Thank you Dean 😊
Alright mate, love the content good luck with the running awesome progress. I’m keen on the mounjaro couple questions if I may, you said when stopped for food wasn’t hungry just knew you should eat - is this how you feel all the time not actually hungry but eating because you know you need to?
Also how are energy levels for running/ ex noting your increased heart rate, I’m hoping not to lose to much energy for working out hard?
Exactly how I feel. I’m never really hungry. It’s scary in a way - food has become something I use for fuel and not enjoyment now
I’ve lost similar amount in my first two weeks 5kg on the 2.5mg. I had 3rd injection couple days ago, I do feel towards the end of the week before my next injection I start to get my food voice back a bit but just I fight it. I think after my first month I will ask to go up to 5mg, It might curb that a bit more for me being stronger. I started at 116.5kg now 111.5kg would like to loose 20kg 🤞
Keep up the good work
We sound very similar! Almost exact same weight too!
@ I’m the Aussie version of you lol
you quoted,”the jab is expensive” it might be cheaper than you think if you count skipping burger king, kfc and beers
Oh totally agree and I don’t mind paying it at all. It’s essentially the cost of a night out.
Exactly
When’s the 24.30 attempt video dropping mate?
Been absolutely manic this week with work, so hoping to get it out by the end of the weekend 🤞
Well done this weeek and a great loss . Did you get checked out before you started taking Mounjaro ? And where did you purchase from ?
I did get all my bloods etc checked beforehand. I got mine from Med Express
We are actually the same weight, I'm on my second week of gym and intermittent fasting and lost 5lbs the first week but seriously considering getting the jabs
Any updates yet
Will get one out over the next day or 2. Been super busy 😊
@@freddyruns ok nice one
I understand that 40 percent of weight loss,is accounted by muscle and bone.
Would this impact running?
Im also on week 2 of monjaro its doing nothing so far ive actually gain 2kg....but to be fair i wasn't expecting the 2.5 shot to do anything
Fingers crossed it kicks in for you at least when you get to the 5mg 🤞
@@freddyruns yeah finger crossed!!! Love your channel your very inspirational!!! Im 137kg heavy and I do park run in 37 mins at the moment....I'm in a very similar position too you I like running and trying to loose weight
@ thank you mate, really appreciate that!
Do you eat at all before you run? If not, I'm wondering if it'd help, by having a ready source of energy that your body can use rather than it needing to convert body resources.
It depends on the run, but normally yes - I do tend to have something
Hi Freddy
This might be a bit random, has abstaining from alcohol caused any changes in your garmin sleep score?
I’ve just checked it and it’s actually stayed similar at the minute. To be fair though, I’ve had a couple of rough work weeks at the same time I’ve stopped drinking - which might have balanced it out.
I’ll keep an eye on this one and possibly add it in as an update 👍
My Garmin sleep score increases massively when I cut out booze. Always non-restorative when I have a drink the night before.
Teams/Zoom. 😂
I wish all meeting could be that way but sometimes things are too important 🤷♂️
Zoom? 😂
If only all meetings could be that way. Unfortunately it’s not always the case
Why not simply control yourself with discipline? Can you control yourself?
No
@@freddyruns Why not?
@@freddyruns If it elevates your heart rate to that extent it might be better to loss weight naturally, no? I also run, by the way.
@ I’d recommend using Google, you’ll discover a whole lot of people that think and act differently to you. I know some people that won’t take paracetamol for a headache. I take them when I have one…
I’ve been battling my weight for years. I struggle. This helps.
Do you think I shouldn’t use it?
There's no one size fits all approach. It's all very dependant on your relationship with food. The relationship with food is very deep seated in some people, often psychological influences over many years. Of course, it's much better to lose the weight without injecting a drug, but if that isn't possible, Mounjaro is a great way to achieve it. The health implications of carrying excessive weight over prolonged periods is well known, the most important thing is to shift it.
