    Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel are two members of Hollywood I genuinely like. Always love seeing Goldie smile and laugh! The woman is as glorious as sunshine, and a true class act. God bless and keep her and her husband.

    Goldie is fabulous! She and Kurt had a “cottage” on the same Ontario, Canada lake, that my family cottage was on. I’ve met them numerous times. They are awesomely “real” people for Hollywood super stars. It was clear they knew of the evils perpetrated by their peers, and that they were determined not to be confused with “them” - even 25 years ago!

    As Goldie Hawn told her story I could see just how real she is... not "actressy" at all. I feel proud of her for the entire life she's lived. She's done it so well. Her parents must have been amazing.

    I’m a 52 year old Mexican woman who just loves Goldie Hawn. I was too young for Laugh In, but I grew up watching her in movies. Her energy, strength and joy has always been inspiring.

      You may want to know that Ive personally seen Goldie hand out $20 bill to a homeless person and even have a conversation with him. No one saw except me. A few years later she came into the hotel I worked at. She wasn't sitting at my station but I saw her waiter drop something edible and put it back from the floor. I followed him to see where it was going. Oh no not my Goldie! I took the item and brought a clean version. Luckily she didn't consume either one

      Loved Goldie before, even more so now. Her mom did a great job raising her with enough fortitude to stand up for herself. Good for her and her mom. Thank God that it didn't end as badly as it could have. Yes, he was a slimeball and it was horrific enough as it was. Thankfully he didn't rape her as well. I was expecting him to demand she drink some tea and that he would have slipped a date rape drug in it. I also find it so odd and crazy that he apologized and took care of her medically after the car wreck.

    This story changed a perspective I had about Al Capp since I met him 55 years ago as an awestruck 11 year old. Miss Hawn, I am sorry for what you had to endure and I am glad you made him eat his words with your success. You didn't marry a Jewish dentist but you are the partner of Snake Plissken, which is about as badass as you can be!

    24 years ago i met a woman on fishermans wharf.
    We were talking and just joking back and forth.
    Had a good comedy thing bouncing back and forth. I kept thinking to myself.. this woman looks like a young Goldie Hawn.
    Totally chill, she is punching my shoulder and laughing...
    Friendly and just a person, ya know?
    Then Kurt Russel came up, said hi and hey honey, we gotta be there soon.
    She said thanks for the laughs...And they left.

    Goldie has always exuded an air of innocence, sweetness and class. Shes one of the few that cant be bought nor would sell her soul. Kurt is a lucky man.

    At certain points as Goldie is sharing her story, it's so clear how etched in her mind this experience she had is still to this day. Thank God she DID get a job (& many, many jobs thereafter) without having to sell herself short. Love Goldie Hawn. She's amazing!

    Goldie always came across as a lady who respected herself and others. This is clearly what she was taught as a child and it stuck with her throughout her life. Not always easy in the Al Capp incident but she did it. Always loved her as an actress

      I was cocktail waitress, and I didn't drink alcohol , when the liked me, invited me his graduation, his mom was there at the dinner party, when I said no to the cocktail, she said, you're a cocktail waitress ,you said no to drink, I told her, I work as a cocktail waitress not an alcohol drinker! I stand up to dance never went back to the table!

    This makes me respect her so much. Not only for not selling out and selling her body, but her having that kind of character and strength. So many women just give in because they want the job or they are too scared to say no. What an amazing woman.

      There are generational differences too that caused many women back then to be compliant to men, especially those in authority. Oddly, at the same time, we were also taught to protect our virginity until we married.

    I relate to so much of this including living on 74th st (not 75th). I have different names, but same story. I am so sorry you went through that- and so grateful you talked about it. Back in the 80's I refused to sacrifice my integrity and was devastated like you - it's shattering - these men in power have no idea how they affected people. SO glad you went on to make so many of us laugh (hard) and happy. I walked away because my heart couldn't take it. I am in awe and so grateful that you broke through, Goldie.Thank you for sharing that story.

    I lost my wife to cancer but one thing she always said was she knew I had a crush on Goldie. We often joked about it but after this interview it is no joke I LOVE GOLDIE!!!!!!!

      Perhaps I hear it differently. She seemed comfortable enough telling the story. She stumbled a bit trying to find decent language to discuss the indecent proposal. She knew she did the right thing, ultimately, which makes it an easier story to tell. I also got a sense that she doesn't want to be treated as a victim or pitied. She just wants people to know, so people understand what an institution in Hollywood the casting couch actually is, and why those who abused it should be held to account. Maybe we're both right to a point?

    When Goldie threw her head back, it reminded me of her Laugh-in days in the Sixties where someone told her a joke and she burst out laughing. Those were precious moments.

    I love Goldie Hawn. This story explains how she was able to maintain an air of innocence throughout her career. She's just as beautiful now as she was in the 60s on Laugh In.

    How can anyone not like Goldie Hawn? She's so genuine. I saw Sugar Land Express just the other night. Part of her daffiness was just acting but she invented a "type" and that's not easy to do. I can only imagine what it was like to act with Chevy Chase who everyone says is a complete jerk to everyone.

      BTW, if you knew anything at all, you would know that Megan had her own "casting couch" moment and like Goldie refused to be a victim. In fact, the man targeted her and unfortunately had the power to get her fired after she blew the whistle on him.
      So stop judging people before you know actual facts, rather than putting someone down just because you have a different opinion about something else, for instance politics. Gee, why do I get the feeling that is the real basis for your snarky comment toward Megan. 🤔

    Congratulations Goldie. You could have been another traumatized victim that became an alcoholic while running from the trauma and trying to rediscover themselves. Morals do matter and God eventually rewards those that choose the right path.

      @@srdfb2260 as a victim myself, I disagree. There is a difference between recalling it and having the memory of it vs. being traumatized.
      Traumatized to me says someone has chosen to continue to live as a victim. That gives the perpetrator continued power.
      A traumatized victim is something I refuse to be. I doubt Goldie would want to be looked at as a victim either. I certainly don't perceive her as a traumatized victim at all. I see her as an incredibly strong woman like many others who went through something horrible and came out stronger for it.

    Most women I know have some kind of story like this. Some were badly hurt and others escaped to tell the tale but all are traumatized by the experience. We have to support others, regardless of how their story played out because it’s all awful and damaging, even if you got out safely, because it’s a dangerous situation and there are many possible outcomes. You can’t be expected to handle it perfectly or be prepared. It’s frightening and you just have to do your best to get out alive whether you came out a victim or a badass. 💪

    Goldie. You'll never read this, but even though I never wanted to be an actress, I have lived through experiences so similar to the story you told. I have had to fight to get away. So glad you had someone to take care of you. That was God caring for you even if you didn't know it at the time. You seem so sweet. I used to watch you on Laugh In when I was a little girl and I totally adored you.

    Her and Kurt Russell are the American couple treasure. I'm not sure if they have finally tied the knot or not but they are a very inspirational couple when it comes to a view of staying together through thick and thin.

    Have loved Goldie since I was a little kid watching Laugh-In w/my parents... all the jokes going over my head I'm sure. Never heard this story. Life is crazy & she's amazing.

    For the younger generation, Al Capp was the cartoonist who wrote/illustrator "Lil Abner and Daisy Mae". He had a mad crush on Jackie Kennedy...I can see why he was in- fatuated with Goldie, she resembled the beautiful Daisy Mae.. In fact, I saw a photo of Goldie dressed as Daisy Mae in a Movie Magazine once. These big shots had/have a tremendous sense of entitlement. I went through this with Publisher/author Norman Cousins in 1971 in his AZ home. TREMENDOUS SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT! He too, told me off after I rejected his advances.

    Goldie and I are the same age. We’re both looking pretty good for 75 😁 I was a band singer in the 70’s. Never had this experience auditioning. That’s such a degrading thing to go through.

      Seventy five is the new 30. Maybe Kurt's deep love ❤️ for her keeps her young. My ex hit the wall at 220 mph and the wreckage was so severe all the debris was vaporized and all her natural beauty was limited to a single photograph taken before she went full on Swede Savage in turn 4 at Indy.
      If Kurt's 💕 remains strong for her she will age gracefully well into her 100s as she seems to be eternally beautiful and resilient

      I’ve always went for women older than myself. The first was when I was 18 she was 34 and gorgeous. lol 34, older women ha! I too pride myself (62) on both my physical appearance as well as my head, heart and soul. I’ve become the man I always admired. God bless you and many more years. If I may tell a quick story, a couple years ago I’m dealing blackjack in Vegas and I have no players till a young beautiful lady sits down. I’m studying her thinking, should I card her? She informs me it’s her birthday and that she is 42 years young. I complimented her and asked her secret. She said, little to no stress and lots of sleep. I then informed her I will be 61 on my next birthday. She said, wow! What’s your secret? I said, same as yours. I love to flirt it’s the most innocent, sexy thing for two people to enjoy.

    I walked into the lobby of the Mercer Hotel in New York in 2002 with friends. We were headed to the bar. I saw Goldie Hawn sitting with a small group of people. I noticed her because it was so loud! Goldie and her daughter Kate Hudson were face to face and were engrossed in animated talking. I mean they were both talking over each other, at the same time, really loud! They were also giggling and not listening to each other at all, but having a great time waving their arms around and laughing really loud. I’ve never seen a mother and daughter so alike! It went on for ages. No one could have interrupted. It would have been impossible!

    Since I had been a lil abner fan as a child, I was shocked to hear Hawn's story. Apparently Grace Kelly's biographer wrote a similar story. I wonder how many women went along with his routine, however reluctantly. But when you look at the trash our entertainment puts out, its no wonder this happens. The industry is run by creeps. You see it in the product.

    I love Goldie ❤ I’m pretty certain I’ve watched all of her films. She is an icon and has that unique wow factor, like my other favorite Audrey Hepburn. There’s a natural playfulness in the way she portrayed her characters. Such a gem.

    I grew up watching Goldie on Laugh-In. I've always loved self-deprecating humor. It shows intelligence. And Kurt has been blessed all these years.
    Their line of work demands allot from couples, which explains much of what goes on in Hollywood.
    I admire their tenacity in marriage by their fidelity to each other. They may be listed as partners, but c.3800 years ago, marriage was establish when Rebekah went into Isaac's tent and that night they consummated their union, and thus, in the eyes of Heaven they became husband and wife-and were true to their last breath.

      I have always wondered what is marriage in God's eyes ? Is it a signed piece of paper and a ceremony with witnesses or is it a devotion that two people have for each other that is never ending? I personally believe it is an undying love and devotion that two people have for each other and God knows that with or without a piece of signed paper.
