How I miss the days of Carson. Nobody did it better. I watched this video in its entirety, almost mesmerized by the politeness and decorum that Johnny and Elizabeth had towards each other. Elizabeth Taylor had a lot of charisma and magic to her...an especially unusual level of glamour...the ability to sort of wrap herself in an aura of elegance, and a sort of royal generosity to go with it.
She also let Johnny set himself up, and knocked him out of the park, multiple times! I've never seen another guest gently just zing him repeatedly like that...!!!

Want a shocker? I know her personal physician and the medical examine who did her autopsy. I have seen her medical records and I can honestly say, both from my opinion and from the two of them as well, I've never known another human being to consume so much drugs and Alcohol and not die from it. She consumed more drugs in a single day than most addicts do in a year. Here's the thing, she would have never made it past 30 if she didn't. The amount of physical pain she must of experienced every moment of everyday is astounding. How she didn't die of shock is beyond me. I wish people would be more honest about things like this. More people might be around today if they didn't feel the need to hide and are ashamed by what is required for them to function.

When Elizabeth was married to senator John Warner, they both went over to my mothers house when she was a child, as my grandmother was working his campaign. It was around Christmas time, and Senator Warner asked my mother what she wanted for Christmas. She said that she wanted a telephone, but it was too expensive. Elizabeth and Johnny were present for the majority of my life. When you are a kid, you don't ever think of the posibility of them not being here one day. When they die, it is a shock! You take it personally. It's as if they were personal friends. It hurts and it is a very emotional experience! I cried over both of their passings. I truly miss them both. I know it was only their bodies that died. They are on the otherside of the veil enjoying a beautiful life, THE REAL LIFE. I sometimes envy all those who are home in the spirit. No worries, no pain, no reason to fear.

Thank you so much for uploading. Elizabeth Taylor was a wonderful actress (watch "Suddenly, Last Summer) and also had the best sense of humor. She did an interview for Life Magazine in the mid '60's that showed her humor and real self. She was in all intents and purposes a gem of a human being. She started AMFAR when nobody else in Hollywood would acknowledge AIDS. We love you Elizabeth!!

A high school friend of mine was Elizabeth's stylist and personal assistant for ten years (she attended Liz's wedding to Larry, made halloween costumes (clowns) for them both one year, and traveled the world with her and Jose Eber. She said Elizabeth was one of the kindest, most generous people she ever had the privilege to know. She gave wonderful parties and lunches on her patio at her home in Califirnia. She liked giving people cats, and gave her a beautiful tortoishell cat as a birthday gift. I recently found a photograph of James Dean with a cat purportedly given to him by Liz after the filming of Giant. I messaged Jorjett and she confirmed Liz did in fact gift James with a kitten. Liz's daughter lives in Oregon and still runs her Aids Foundation.

You make a great point I've never read anywhere else about Johnny Carson. He really did have a connection with the audience that no other talk show host since has. Some might interact with their audience a little in some ways, but it's not the same quality of connection. And even watching at home on the TV, as I did as a kid, I felt included. Thanks for making that point. 😊

Her life was anything but tragic; it was victorious! Although she encountered much tragedy along the way; she did not let it define her. This is not an easy thing to do. As a character, I mean person, she had a lot of courage and spirit. We never missed an Elizabeth Taylor in our house. Love that woman.
