      I'm 65 and jump the 1 lb cross rope 1000 times every morning. I'm down to 20 minutes for 1000 jumps. Great morning workout for me. I also jump the 1/4 cross rope 1500 times every evening. I've lost 82 lbs in 2 years and am feeling great. THANKS CROSSROPE!!!

    I have a heavy rope from extreme training equipment, and it is amazing and everything you said was spot on of how it works for everyone and the benefits. Maybe you should do a video if you have or not about different types of jump rope, meaning if its a heavy rope which type you can jump properly or something. But again amazing video and info. Keep it up.

    Guess I’ll have to stop drinking twenty beers during the weekend. Or just workout more to compensate. I started boxing and I got a two inch diameter vertical belly burrito in the center of my abdominals. I figure heavy rope workout and cutting my beer consumption by half ought to do something positive.

    Is 1 pound rope good to start with for a beginner? And how is the weight distributed, is it only on the rope or are the handles also weighted having a total of 1lb?

    I got blisters on my hands when using heavy ropes. Any tips? I wonder if Im gripping the handles incorrectly

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, have you been jumping rope for a long time? Reason I ask is because if you are just starting out , blisters might be a problem with any rope not just heavy rope. Good luck and let us know if you have additional q's !

    • @dhillman88
      @dhillman88 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zen Dude Fitness yes ive been skipping for a while with a much lighter speed rope. I found with the heavy rope if i hold the handles a bit more loosely, theres less friction so i dont get blisters but its less firm and stable as the handles will move around in my hands. But gripping them tightly for firmer and more stable grip ends up giving me blisters esp at the end of my palm nearest to the bottom of the handles. Theres a video on crossrope channel on how to grip. Essentially if i do what they recommend as "strength grip" for heavier ropes to avoid wrist strain and pain, i get blisters

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try wearing gloves ! Will help you avoid blisters and help you grip better

      make your own....buy a steel skipping rope for around $20, go to your local hardware store and buy some rubber piping (normally for gas) put the steel rope through the rubber piping and away you go....iv tried this and its very good the pipe weighs around 2-3lbs with the steel rope.

    Quick question, would this have the same effect if I were to wear arm weights while jumping rope. I also got weight jump ropes but they are different from yours. The rope itself isn't heavy but the handles can open up and can be added weights on them, would those consider as heavy jump ropes?

    Just bought a pair of these ropes the MMA gym I go to has dozens of ropes but most are beat up and a weighted one they recently got is already broken cost about 20 dollars I used it when it first got there now little then 3 month later it’s broken I’m buying these in hopes of it not breaking and last me a few years and it’s lifetime warranty is also a plus and in reality with it’s life time warranty and it should be cheaper then most because I planed on getting a weighted rope and regular rope both would’ve cost me around 60-70 dollar range with a possibility of breaking and having to replace outta pocket comes cheaper when I get Crossrope Get Strong Set let see I get it this Sunday.

    Does jumping rope with ankle weights help? These heavyweight ropes are really expensive. Any cheaper alternative?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vikramjeet Singh - jumping with ankle weights will increase your impact and lead to injury. DON'T do it.
      Now a weighted rope distributes the force all through your body (without adding impact).
      Subs? not really. Just get intense with what you have!

    Hye i am 25 my weight is 56 and height is 5 feet is 3 inches i wanna lose weight by jumping rope particularly from thighs and legs... is that a good way to lose weight from these areas?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sundus Jabeen Amina - the idea of losing weight from "certain areas" is called "spot reduction." Spot reduction does NOT exist. you can't have a salad then tell your body to lose face fat.
      You can't jump rope and tell your body to "get big shoulders"
      You can't do a sit up san tell your body "I want abs."
      You CAN do a an exercise like jump rope, that burns a ton of calories and challenges many of your muscles. When do burn these calories and eat the right amount of for your body, you'll lose fat. Where from? We don't know but if you are consistent and keep pushing, eventually you'll lose it from all the areas you want.
      Grab a rope and get moving!!!

    Hey zen dudes which is better, weighted rope or weighted handles?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      They both are good for different reasons. I (dan) prefer the weighted handle rope to the weighted rope because i can still spin the weighted handle rope fast and do tricks. A weighted rope is mostly just for getting a taxing workout in but you can't really do many tricks or go fast.

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1/2 pound and up! But there is no real guideline... It's all about what challenges you!

    hey, i usually do about 2000 jumps with a regular beaded rope. I am in decent shape, but am lately getting a little bored with the jump rope and so decided to try a heavier jump rope. Could you suggest how heavy a rope should i go for... I was thinking of a 5lb rope.. you think i would be able to do that...

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bacon Cheese - heavy ropes are a bit slower and provide tons of feedback which actually makes learning a little easier. the 1/2 pound crossrope is awesome!

      we like crossropes.. they are measured in pounds... a 2 pound rope is REALLY heavy... a 2.5 KG rope would be insane.

    What results you can gain jumping with a weight vest?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noel Strongman Richardson - you can add stress to your entire posterior and open yourself up for injury while increasing impact. We don't recommend you do this. If you need more resistance grab a weighted rope.
      Don't have weighted rope? Go faster, do doubles, run in place. Make it count!
