You can annex all your puppets REALLY easily with the horn of africa focus. It's super OP. The federation is super OP with the focus, you can build infrastructure and factories in each of them for a small amount of pp

@@FIVEBASKET Look closely when stakuyi is telling in the beginning of the video that he will trade his civ for importing steel from the soviets. You can see that he has the trade tab open, but actually on the chromium tab and therefor he imports chromium and not steel.

played it yesterday and after 3 years of War and 1 million casualties in total i drove the Pizzas back. This war is difficult but really also so much fun
You had one million casualties or Italy did? Also the war stakuyi did was 3 years and like 9 months long or almost 4 years
@@irenaveksler1935 i had 430k and italy had 620k casualties. It was my first time playing Ethiopia and i didnt even know the focus tree, would have spared me alot of trouble^^

Ayyyy🇪🇹, i don't know much about the game but, It's amazing the accuracy of names, places, the military, and even cloth that the troops are wearing in the game. It was also fun to hear you pronounce the names of the generals, as an Ethiopian 😅

By the time I kicked Italy out of Ethiopia I had lost 167k while Italy lost 678k.
Aussa gets annexed when you lose Tigray.
you might want to look at aussas focus tree because it has its own special one but for some reason it’s not listed on the interesting countries tab
It's the focus that all the regions of Ethiopia have its like the Chinese focus trees for the warlords

Ethiopia definitely seems like it's going to be more fun to play with historical AI off; I just hope they do more in the future to make non-historical games play a bit better, like making more decision based white peaces, because it's really annoying when you get the UK and it's allies in a death war over a province you want in central africa
I found the defence to be quite easy actually. It's all about the order of which you go through the focuses.
There is another way to integrate them
The Federation focus should have given you some decisions to annex the puppets a lot quicker than 4 years.

Ambusher isn't that useful in the early game, since if I recall correctly, the "traditional warfare" gives you -max entrenchment
Im currently doing a playthrough of Ethiopia too, managed to drive the Italians out, also went with the "Emperor Stays" focus. Im playing on historical. So now... im sitting alone in a country without any factory, wondering just how the heck ill build my country back up. Mind you, im still quite noob at Hearts of Iron 4 so perhaps Ethiopia was not too great an idea to play. Anyhow, tips from any of y'all would be appreciated, mostly on how to get factories and such going so I can actually -build- things :D

One time I played as Poland in 1939, once Germany invaded I joined th allies and right before I capitulated I held a referendum to become the Polish Republic and then capitulated and became a kingdom in exile, then I decided to ask for some states from UK after they has taken Ethiopia, so I had come back as Poland in Africa, eventually I had taken basically all of Italys African territory just by asking for states from the UK, eventually the allies won.
Summary: America joined after Pearl harbor and naval invaded Iceland wich had been controlled by Germany, and eventually invaded Vichy France in Africa (You know that I took Iceland and Vichy France Africa jut by asking the USA), Britain took German Norway and Vichy France (Whenever an ally captures someone you know I take control) and eventually a joint naval invasion from the Soviets, UK, USA, and me eventually capitulated Italy ( creating a very divided Italy before I took over) Russia capitulated Japan by nuking it in 1943 and Germany capitulated the next year after another joint invasion, I got my original land back as well as Japan and Danzig, creating an Empire in Africa and having Italy and Japan.
