Tip for proper clip station you can buy or make it your own. From time to time I used foam but after a while, I notice that there are foam pieces around my workshop and spray booth that's annoying. So I switch from foam to card box holes. The best way to make it is to use cardboard of card box cut into slices and glue them together it's cheap easy to get and you can decide how long or small you want. ;)
Hey great tip! I mentioned cat scratchers as well in the first video of this series. For me, the foam was a free option and I haven't had to replace it yet, but yes there are specs of foam in my work area 🤣🤣🤣
Hey Olivier! Thanks for commenting. 😁 I am just trying to share things I wish I knew going into this. Some channels do great covering the Painting itself, but I felt a lot of these factors have been overlooked. Hope this helped you out! 😁
Excellent video. The very first one I know of that details so well all the steps to airbrushing and gives so many tips. It will be so useful to beginners, but even more experienced modelers will find useful information. I like the very reasoned step by step explanation. Your narration gives the right t message: airbrushing is a fun activity, to be done with patience and care and the outcomes are very fulfilling and satisfactory. Keep up with this videos, Plamo Therapist!
Hey, thank you so much. Sorry for the late response, YT studio isn't giving me notifications of comments anymore. 🤷 My goal is to take out that fear and replace it with excitement. It was great for me because it reinforced my basics and got me to analyze my process too. 😁 Hope this helps anyone that wants to learn more about airbrushing now and in the future.
@@PlamoTherapist, I personally think your video does just that! I think it’s very heathy to go over something in detail and analyze it to improve oneself!
@@PlamoTherapist your videos are super cool, informative and spread a positive vibe. I enjoy them and will keep watching them as long as you will post them. I uploaded a couple more videos of my latest diorama and will soon post the one about the RX-78-2 MG. VER.Ka.
Great question! Actually yes! If you wear gloves the entire time and sand down surfaces for better adhesion, you could technically skip the wash phase. Just be sure to brush away any leftover plastic dust before you start spraying. 😁
Awsome. Vid man. Thank you. Just wondering though, do you ever use any flat finishes? For a more military look. Like a Leo or a Gouff. For a more combat ready look.
Hey dude. Sorry for the late response, my phone isn't notifying me of any comments anymore 🤷 I love flat finishes and it's what I used for all of my painted builds so far. I'll be doing a comparison this week, so stay tuned for that! 😁
Hey great question! I've actually started doing two coats of primer for this reason. One that's a bit darker than what I want before going in with the finishing surfacer to get the final shade of grey that I need. If you don't have a dark grey primer, you can mix in a drop or two of black primer. Give this a shot and see if it works. Best of luck! 😁
Man, amazing videos! I only found your channel today and have been watching reviews! Subbed :) . I am watching this one and wondering, do you snap the whole kit before and then dismantle it for painting? I know some people do that and cut the pegs to be more easy, but i am always afraid.
Hey Ricardo! Thank you so much! When it comes to my building process. I only snap the kit together to show everyone what the kit looks like before I do anything to it like painting, etc. However, instead of cutting the pegs, I usually cut the sectios where the pegs slide in. This gives it a little bit of wiggle room when disassembling them for wash and paint. 😁 Hope this answers your question! Thank you so much for the sub and if you have any questions on this or any other video, don't be afraid to reach out! I'm always happy to help and answer questions. 😁
is it possible to airbrush the sub assemblies? I dont really have a way to take them apart at this point, but I have all the major sub assemblies seperate
Hey there! Great question. I normally don't sand after a primer coat unless I'm going for a mirror chrome look. Even then, I only sand the primer layer and nothing after that. If you are having to sand after your base coat, you might need to thin your paint more as it might be a clumping issue. Otherwise. Just blast away and let it cure before moving on. Hope this answers your question and I wish you the best of luck!
Hey there! Great question! I use a mix of gloss and flats to get what I need. For me, color accuracy is more important than paint finish as you can always clear coat to the final desired effect, and gloss matte paints for panel lines and decal work. If there's a paint color that you REALLY want, don't let the finish stop you from using it. 😁 Hope this answers your question, and best of luck!
@@PlamoTherapist Thanks, but i ask mainly because i am thinking i can skip gloss coat before panel line if i am using gloss paint. and then just put a matt topcoat
Airbrushing noob here. Any advice for those starting with the gundam airbrush system, like myself? Do I still need to prep my pieces by washing them? And I noticed that with the gundam markers, they dry pretty quickly. Should I still wait a day before trying something like using multiple colors, or just snapping the kit back together?
Hey there. In terms of starting with the Gundam Marker System, the best advice I can give is to develop good fundamentals. Consistent spray distance, Starting and stopping before and after the piece, checking for complete coverage, etc. As for washing pieces, it's not absolutely necessary, but still recommended. Are you primng your pieces too? Even a rattle can primer works well. As for waiting for pieces to dry, I suggest overnight if you paint in the evening, but about 4 hours is more than sufficient. As for alcohol markers, I think 4 should be more than enough as well. Hope this answers your question and best of luck!

You can use Blu Tack on smaller pieces to stick. It's less than 3 bucks. 👍
Absolutely! And for pieces that have a flat back that aren't exposed, you can also tape it to a piece of cardboard. 😁
Any advice on priming white pieces with gray primer? Having some trouble getting an even coat because visually it's hard to see

@@PlamoTherapist I never thought of using primer, is that absolutely needed if I’m just using the airbrushed gundam markers?
Not absolutely necessary, but it'll help the colors pop more and be less affected by the color of plastic underneath.

Thanks for your wisdoms
