I really hope that you all have enjoyed another Top 20 list about PSAs! Also for the people that were curious about the pusher shirt, it's available on my merch store now and it's still 10% off but not for much longer over at www.zachrmerch.com
Pro tip if your car is submerged in water, the car seat headrest is detachable so you can break the windows with the metal prongs. Make sure you hit the edges and not the middle.
the music in Shadow Puppets is just so unnerving that it makes it 10x scarier. Also, gosh "Yes Mum" is amazing! I hadn't seen it before this and was so shocked by the ending. It definitely deserves that no #2 spot
Whenever Shadow Puppets comes in I lower my volume because the song in the beginning is already so unnerving I don't even want to hear how it goes in the end lmao there's just something about it
Imagine you wake up in the middle of the night seeing the Samaritans one. That's gotta be on the same level as travelling to Germany, waking up in the middle of the night, and seeing Bernd the Bread.
I really don't have a fav PSA but one that makes me giggle is the "we're not candy" with the pill puppets .....that one and some of the crash dummy ones And that work safe Victoria one is hella well made very cinematic
4:53 Weeks ago, a motorcyclist actually crashed in front of my house. Poor guy ran into a parked car and was flung meters away. When your on a motorbike, you certainly don’t have as much protection as you would in a car. Great compilation as always!
I saw it on a horror movie DVD but I don't remember which one. I was more creeped out by it than the movie itself lol. I remember Splode by truth came on before The Hangover. The creepy music at the end was super unnerving. I remember my friend had left the movie on overnight and we fell asleep. I just remembered waking up in the middle of the night seeing the PSA. Creepy asf
I didn't think too much about the Pip the Dog PSA, but I like it a lot now that I think about it. It's silly with how Pip does stereotypical things to raise money, but there's a sad undertone because it's about a homeless dog. I especially love how it doesn't end on Pip dying and offers some hope for both Pip and the real life situation. I've never seen Yes, Mum until this video and that's a damn good PSA. He doesn't even want to tell her that he's about to die, just his last "I love yous."
I really like 18, a really powerful way to show how important safety is without traumatizing people, lmao. I just feel like the over the top scary stuff, while interesting and cool to analyze, don't really have a place in modern commercials now that we understand trauma a lot more. (I could see new ones being made as standalone videos perhaps! So at least we still get more interesting ones.) Plus imagine you have PTSD or something and are just chilling and watching TV when suddenly you see an ad reminding you of it and have a panic attack, that would suck.
Agreed! I know I've certainly captured glimpses of how something could've gone horribly wrong if I didn't stop something in time or was a little too slow.
my first-time reaction commentary on each entry: 20. Banger! I feel like this is one of the best anti-smoking PSAs of all time, actually. 19. Ahhh, Partnership, my greatest frenemy. This is definitely one of their Good Ones. 18. Man, this one has such a quiet power that just gets to me. I'm glad your channel introduced me to it! 17. This one is definitely well-made, though not as iconic as other TAC ads for me-- but of course, I don't get to have that nostalgia factor for Australian PSAs. 16. Yeehaw 🤠 15. I mean, how can you not appreciate a SIRE firework safety PSA? They speak for themselves. 14. I'm definitely a Samaritans PIF stan. As iconic as this one is, I still personally think "Telephone" is way too underappreciated, but they're all good in my book. 13. YESSSSS, some love for the CCA and their puppetry!! You know I can always get behind that. 12. Oh, I'm a sucker for a good tearjerker. You're right; this one is underrated (probably because it's not outright scary) but I really like it. 11. Oh thank god, I was legit about to cry... I've actually never seen that one, believe it or not! The absolute relief I got at the optimistic ending was both palpable and unfair to my fragile emotional state 😅 10. Love a good fire safety PIF, because what sticks with us more than trauma? 👌 This one almost seems to get lost in the medley sometimes, which is a shame because it's really good! You made a great point about the quasi-bait&switch ending, too. The 'ad break': Ahh, so I guess you could say that we can get those exclusive rewards from "YOU, ALL RIGHT? I GOT THEM BY WATCHING YOU." (wish I could become a member right now, but hopefully in the next couple months I'll be able to afford it!) 9. Oh, this is one of my personal underrated gems too. Definitely in my top 20 favorites, at least. That music, dude! Fuck that copyright though. 8. Ooh, now we're in my territory! I never got to comment on this one in my huge PDFA review, but if it hadn't been a 2000s ad, it would have made it very, very high on the list. 7. Oh god, this entire series is brutal. Absolutely one of the most artistic and cinematic, yet raw PIFs of all time. 6. I can recite this entire thing from memory (and occasionally do) yet it never gets less creepy. Such an S-tier drug PSA. 5. Oh, old AdCouncil PSAs are absolutely relentless. This one hurts, and it hurts bad. If I'm not mistaken, I think Jacqueline Saburido's (rest in peace) PSAs used a tagline that conveyed a similar message ("Not everyone hit by a drunk driver dies") and that's all the more tragic knowing that she passed away eventually too. 4. Shit dude, Sandy Hook Promise's PSAs are so incredibly upsetting to me that it's hard to sit through them. This one is probably the most tame of the three that I've seen, but as an American who still has little cousins in middle/high school, it turns my stomach something fierce. 3. Yeah, I adore this one. I prefer it over the similar Think! PIF, and I've spoken my praises on it for years. Nothing more to add at this point. 2. Good god man, are you trying to make me burst into tears tonight? 😅😟 This one sincerely gets me sobbing when I think about it too long. Thank goodness I just saw my mom today lol. Can't believe it was a contest film! 1. Ahhhh I should've guessed! Wait... Larry is Garfield. I just realized that. Larry is lasagna cat....... I'm lowkey ashamed that I didn't have the knowledge or appreciation of this whole campaign before, but I'll definitely give Vince & Larry's full catalog a watch soon 😁 Great video!!
Thank you heaps and it was interesting to read your thoughts about my top 20 favourite PSAs! Also yes Larry is Garfield (Lorenzo Music) who was also Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters show
I'm really surprised to see Guinea Pig so far down from the No. 1 position! Also, I'm as surprised that the Vince and Larry PSAs weren't an honorable mention like they were in the first video. On the other hand, I absolutely LOVE the Vince and Larry PSAs, especially because those PSAs are what got me into PSAs in the first place. Also, they made me want to start a PSA channel (which is still something I want to do). The radio PSAs for the campaign are also fun. I honestly don't know why Vince and Larry are largely ignored in the PSA community. The Shadow Puppets PSA is probably my favorite PSA from SIRE, aside from Sign Language (and perhaps Countdown). That music is definitely haunting! My favorite from RSPCA Australia would have to be Cruise, though Pip the Dog is definitely a fantastic PSA! TAC definitely does their PSAs well, and Yes Mum is no exception. I had never seen that PSA before this, and I was not prepared for that ending! Finally, the Jesselyn Rose PSA from Ad Council was great! The transition from her before the crash to her in the hospital was brutal to watch! I can only compare it to a similar transition in the Think Seriously PSA from PoolSafe. Great PSA countdown! Keep up the good work! A great PSA countdown to redo would be your Top 20 Funniest PSAs.
Thank you and don't worry I am definitely going to be making other content again, just in the grove of PSAs for a little but I'm working on a video non-psa related atm
Another great video! I'm surprised You're the Guinea Pig isn't #1, but all of these are excellent. I'm glad you still included Rehab and Pip. Vince and Larry are the funniest PSAs of all time
Yay! A PSA list! Time to be really sad… Oh cool rats! Nevermind I’m miserable now… Heck yeah Vince and Larry! What a surprise! A really cool list as usual. Nice.
SOME ONE NEEDS TO GIVE THE LADY IN THE LEATHER JACKET A HUG AND SOME FRIENDS- I honestly want to be her friend, she seems cool and probably has a band or something (considering she has a gutair like sound whenever she speaks lol) I'm going in depth about this PSA..
Fair enough, not every PSA is for everyone but it's basically about how people struggle about talking about their mental health and the struggle of reaching out for help

Dang did not expect your the guinea pig to shift that much goes to show how much you've grown
Some really solid additions glad to see yes mum on here
Yeah I really didn't expect You're The Guinea Pig to change as much as it has either but I think it definitely had to the more I thought about it haha
6 is one of my top favorites. Thank you.
Awesome PSAs!
They really know how to leave an impression.
I would love to see more PSA videos!
My favorite is “Fatherhood Involvement” by AdCouncil, it always gives me this uncontrollable grin every time I watch.
I love videos about PSAs - id love something that covers more modern PSAs - though I know they aren't what they used to be.
Oh God I really need some PSA like No18 after seeing so many PSA tragedies. Can you make a video like “Top 10 Happy Ending PSAs”?
