    I have a 2021 MT-09, same color as yours, and a 2019 Honda CB300R. I love both of them, for slightly different reasons. IMO, the 2021 and up MT-09s are incredible bikes. Congratulations!

    Congratulations on the new bike man. You're never gonna get tired of this bike. I had a 2012 R6 and my first ride on an MT09 blew me away with the torque. Perfect for commuting and street riding.

    Over the years I've switched between 250, DRZ, R6, R1, WR250R and now currently a 300 Rally. The Rally is a great do everything bike, however I sometimes find myself missing the 'fear for my life' acceleration of a road bike.
    I still have my license with the 300 Rally, My R1 was far too quick for street haha.

    I'm so freaking EXCITED for you! You got my choice of bike literally. I'm trying to save up for it to. I did some research on it before, and I chose this one since it's much affordable than my first choice, and I didn't really care for the SP model since I'm like you. I don't dog out the bike, and take it to the track. My first choice was a Honda cb1000r. That machine is beautiful to, but the price of it was not in my budget in saving if I wanted to get the bike on my set date. I thought I would get the same brand bike I use to have but bigger. I use to have a cb300f Honda. Right meow I'm at my ups,and down in the route of my saving, but it looks like I'll probably get it by the end of this year, or Aug of 2024. I could've gotten earlier, but I had to take the money I got from the wreck of my previous bike to pay some of my medical needs. So that didn't happen. Since I have a great wife that's willing to give me a chance to earn up to it. I'm hoping to get it on those days that I mention. I love your bike, and I'm so looking forward to getting it, and having that great feeling when I finally can ride again. I'm so happy seeing videos of this, and I"m so happy you have the bike you wanted.

    Congrats. I own one as well, Yes the seat needs an upgrade and get a windscreen if riding long distances, it would be nice if it came with cruise control like the SP, also as for frame sliders, if your 5’10” or taller you will bang your knees from time to time on the TST industries Womet-tech EVOs edition frame sliders. Although I heard in these comments that the Yamaha Comfort seat elevates the ride height by 3” so I will try that. 👍🏾

    • @Jtwizzle
      @Jtwizzle ปีที่แล้ว

      3 inches? That seems way to much for just a seat to raise. Ive read from some others that it isnt much thicker but just a better quality foam.

    Nice bike josh. i just got rid of my 2016 MT09 and took delivery of a 2022 MT10 in the same colour scheme as yours. I used my quickshifter from mile 000001, you'll be fine as long as you're over about 4000 revs. My 2016 had no traction control or IMU, just vanilla ABS. Had a hard time keeping the front wheel on the tarmac. Switch off LIF and you'll see what I mean.

    Just now has Triumph caught up with Yamaha by fitting an imu in the street triple. This bike has no competition for value/performance/reliability. I got the same color as you. I fit asv shorty levers and evotech sliders. I love the clean, tucked oem exhaust.

    • @_JoshJB_
      @_JoshJB_  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a great bike. I agree about the exhaust! I want a little more noise from it but I don’t really know if I like the look of any of the options out there at the moment.

  • @AndreasOtte
    @AndreasOtte ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Quick recommendation for taller riders. The official Yamaha comfort seat adds around 3 centimeters of height. That's a huge difference for the geometry of your legs. Other then this. Adjust your lever angle and breaking pedal according to your geometry, as well. Should be done on day one. Typically levers are way too horizontal for taller riders.

    • @_JoshJB_
      @_JoshJB_  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tip. So far I've found the seat and seating position to be ok, but I think some added seat height would definitely help!

    • @freshkicks9401
      @freshkicks9401 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great information! my knees hit my womet-tech evos edition frame sliders. So, once Yamaha restocks on the comfort seat I will be making that switch. Thanks again!

    • @freshkicks9401
      @freshkicks9401 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @johannesmaas4206

    start using the qs after break in period, check chain slack and adjust, should be ok after 2.500km. I got the chain slack adjusted with first service at 1.000km and around 2.000km the chain had approx 60mm play (measured according to Yamaha manual). The qs had problem when switching gears (landed in N a few times even when shifting from 3 to 4 or 4 to 5)... After adjusting the chain everything was fine.

    Traded in a 2008 Suzi GSX650F for one of these a few weeks back (runout 2022), had my first decent ride in the Gembrook area (Vic) last weekend... What a bike! For me, TC 2 & DM 3 seems the best fit (found DM 2 a little snatchy in carparks and such), doubt I'll ever try DM 1, haha.
    I'm also 6ft, but 86kg and approaching 60. Mid-sixties I may trade for a Ducati scrambler - probably the last bike before the kids say that's it Old Man - but for now, I'm going to enjoy this.
    What a bike!
    [FWIW, went the blue, added smokey sports screen, side tank grips and radiator guard. Considered the SP mostly for the cruise control, but, price... Cheers]
