What a brain Bach must have had...imagine all those notes bouncing around in there! And, he produced so much of it! This was fun to listen to!
The mans brain is like a cross between supercomputer and a harpsichord
When I listen to Bach I get the feeling that its moving things inside of me under the surface.
Jonathan is famous for his brilliant transcriptions (and rightly so) but his playing of Bach’s works is absolutely masterly. I return to them over and over again. Bravo, Maestro!
J. S. Bach in one of his many heights. Imbued by Heaven with an uncommon innate harmony, he's simply incomparable in the sheer depth of harmonization to be seen in his compositions. And here Mr. Scott does profound justice to this piece.
Music at the summit of quality, both in the composer and performer. Sheer joy to hear. Heartfelt thanks to J.S. And to T&J!
Indeed!
The glorious 'Great' played by a 'great' organist. Thank you Jonathan for this wonderful performance
LOVE the TEMPO THE GREAT FUGE performed by the great Jonathan Scott thanks to you Tom terrific for the great film and sound only Bach
An absolutely fantastic Bach fugue that makes me feel happy love the organ sound
Such ecstatic joy in this unparalleled "Great Fugue" = so aptly named to distinguish if apart from His "Little Fugue in G Minor" - and coincidentally also (in my opinion) to emphasize its pre-eminence among all other fugues as the greatest ever. It's no wonder that Sebastian fathered so many children in between bouts of creating such orgasmic music.
What a versatile musician Bach was❗
This Ìs the cry of the soul , ands profound sigh of God
Regardless of anything, Jonathan and Tom are leaving a very beautiful and important legacy for the world. The videos are very professional. True works of art. Congratulations! God bless you always in this beautiful work! 🙏
What a great performance! I studied this piece and have an appreciation for how athletic it is but your playing was relaxed and spot-on throughout. Great articulation, love the all-toes pedaling. Really brought out all of the lines and voices beautifully.
What an awesome performance. Just as people can't think about anything without turning the thoughts into words, I feel like great mathematicians think in numbers, and Bach thought in notes. I'm glad he wrote them down.
My No 1 favourite Bach Fugue. Thanks for the playing and recording/video lads
Amazing skills. All four limbs playing different things. Piano squared!
This has to be my favourite organ work of all time, and the one I get the biggest 'kick' out of playing. I'm always fascinated how every organist has their own way of emphasising the first subject entries when they appear, and how the manuals are registered - all equally valid of course. Thanks for sharing this with us and thanks to Tom who, as always, made a brilliant recording.
Great fugue, great performance! Thank you very much!
Wow, that was a workout Jonathan!! Huge respect!! Wonderful way to begin the weekend!! Thank you both so much!
Hello!!
Aijaijaijaijai!!! GREAT GREAT GREAT
wonderful GREAT Jonathan and tom
Thank you for this GREAT plaesure!!
Greetings from the Netherlands
A Stunning performance on a fabulous instrument! Thank you so much.
yaaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssssssssssssss..........love it! I love the foot camera
Brilliant! Simply brilliant!
Ho apprezzato e gradito molto questa "fuga". Grazie.
He composed this all these countless Melodie’s faster than we could write the notes. To say Bach was a genius is a massive understatement. He is in a league all of his own.
I've been trying to think how to sum up Bach's genius. You have done it for me. "in a league of his own " Premier league. On his own!
Bach has been the only musical prophet.
Gracias, Jonathan;gracias Tom.
Great!
Hi Jonathan, thanks for posting "'The Great" Fugue from BWV 542 again. It was a fantastic performance! As I posted over 12 months ago, for some reason, I keep going back to your full performance at St Mary's Cathedral, in Newcastle, UK in 2019 on the (late) Kenneth Tickell organ! For me , that was one of the very best performances that you (and others) have ever given of this piece on TH-cam! Best wishes to you both, as always.
You really got the tempo spot on. Excellent performance and sound 👍
Superb production in terms of video and clarity of capture of all range of frequencies of sound!
Superb. What a pleasure to listen to.
I always think what joy their mum must have had with these two boys growing up!
Now that would be video with mum really telling what it was like!
"THE GREAT“ is Jonathan! 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
Impressive.
FINALLY Scott plays this for once
He has uploaded the full piece before at St Mary's Cathedral in Newcastle
The level of attention is off the chart with this one!!!¡ Going to subscribe to this. Keep'em coming!!!! Ingram, TX. U.S.A.
Eine grandiose Einspielung die begeistert..!!
Glorious! My favourite piece by Bach & love playing it when I get the chance!
Thank you very much for musical enjoyment. And the musical massage, Scottbrothersduo.
Yes Teleman and JS Bach. Two great composers. Johnathan Scott plays so well too!
Wunderbar ❤ ❤ ❤
Brilliant!
" Excellent..."
Bravo Jonathan. Fantastic as always. 😀 JSB certainly left us some beautiful music.
Thank you, wish I could have heard it live! 👍
Masterful.
Love it
Marvelous.
An amazingly complex piece, superbly played (of course).
Thank you for this! First rate in every way as always from you two fellows (O:
Wonderful performance!
Wonderful. A fun piece to play!
Splendid! :)
Fabulous!
This is just to great! Those panning zooming in and out of the scene, reflects on how human worries grows dwindled upon Bach´s masterpieces. Yes indeed Jonathan crosses through the piece mastering all the instrument's resources and melodic hide bouts... but a noteworthy nodding must be glimpsed upon Tom's concerns of properly accompanying the whole spectacle; for the size of the instrument and the humongous building surrounding it, task becomes behemoth. Add Jonathan genius and then you have an instant difficult to package... but it is fair to say Tom, does it again!. Way to go!!!
EXCELLENT!
👏 bravo!!!
Great
Absolutely excellent! I love how you brought the theme in with the chamades at the end for the final recapitulation.
Guru!
Wonderful. Thank you so much.
that was really amazing, great interpretation,
Brilliant - more J S Bach please!
BRAVO MAESTRO!
Fantastic music by Bach and amazing organist !
Bravissimo!
Bravo. Every video these guys drop is insanely good!
Wonderful!
It would be great to hear you perform Bach's Fugue in E Minor BWV 548 "Wedge"👉👈
Just wonderful. Thank you, both.
Magnificent! One of the best performances of this piece I have heard! Thanks for posting! 💐💐🍇🎈🥰😝🌺🦋🎻🎶😀👍
Bach was and still the Kingpin of classical music. His ability to compose so much great pieces of music, mainly by improvising on different themes, in different keys of the musical spectrum..
fantastic!
Majestic
Splendid :)
There is Bach. And then there is everything else.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I would love to see you guys do Eric Whitacre's "when david or heard" or his "Deep Field"
What scores do you use for these pieces that were originally written for organ? I would like to play this and a few other pieces from your channel, but your website only sells the transcriptions of orchestral pieces. I really like the layout of your arranged scores with all of the registration and details.
Here Jonathan is using the Dover edition of Bach's organ works, I reckon. You can freely and legally download any Bach piece from IMSLP btw
@@stefanocrosazzo3262 Thank you for the insight. I prefer physical books, but looking at the prices for some of them, IMSLP printouts will be much better for my budget
"Oh Ebenezer Prout you are a funny man.
You have made Bach's fugues as silly as you can"
JS is ready if they remake Doctor Who's PYRAMIDS OF MARS.
Perhaps, Wir glauben all an einen Gott BWV 680 in a future performance?
Why did you not include the fantasia in this one Johnathan?
This performance is an excerpt of a longer concert where he only performed the fugue. However he has performed and uploaded the complete work on this channel - on the wonderful organ of St Mary's Newcastle in 2019
when listening to this music the only possible thought is GOD
Fortunate to have both sides of the brain in harmony/sync.... i feel this a key attribute which the best organ/piano players have..... need to "fact check" me on that but.... could be so!
Example: Left footed for football yet right handed for writing? Indicates that both sides have equal? control.
Which is greater, 542 or 543?
4:20
I feel like I want more of the registration at the end, especially on the main console, needed more fullness. Maybe more horns in the 8,16 and 32, sounded a bit too bell heavy.
Not heard this on
Sun Conure = cute (O:

Yes a nice performance, but go try a real tracker organ where you really have to work at it.
That is a real tracker organ - he is playing at the manual console. There is a separate mobile digital console as well.
