    Over 20 years ago I purchased a 50th anniversary submariner with the fat four bezel. It still has the stickers on it and is sitting in a safe all this time. I bought it to pass down to my son when he graduates from college. I have seen this watch selling for $40k for clean models. Almost 8x what I paid for it.

    All these so call rolex investment piece are massively overhyped. I had a batgirl and im glad i got rid of it. Didnt do shit for me but make me feel stupid paying so much for it but feel that its a lesser watch than an AP or vacheron.. only happy i make some profit off it. Pity the fool who bought this from me though..

      lol whatever makes you feel better. You simply are too poor to own a Rolex and that’s really it. Now you’re going to talk shit about it 😂

    I have another thought. We should not buy watch from grey martkets, if you do so, eventually you sponsor those flippers, bcos when you buy from grey markets meaning you buy from those flippers and so they will continue go back to their AD to get new watches, and consequently the AD will not have any leftover pieces for those sincerely waiting for a piece from the AD. And it's on and on. Hence, just be patient and sit back and there should have an opporrunity later to get from the AD. 😊

    I am looking to purchase the date just with the Wimbledon dial in the 36mm. It is for personal usage although I don’t want to purchase an asset that’s gonna lose me money longish term if I have to sell. I’ve heard this specific dial will be discontinued so what are your thoughts? Generally does the 36mm date just not perform well? If so am I significantly better off going for the 41mm? Cheers.

    Rolex watches hold their value well or appreciate if you know what to buy…. Same goes with vintage guitars… cars… Persian rugs… etc. Historically the Rolex steel sports watches have held their value very well.. if ur new to Rolexes and don’t know what will hold value, choosing a SS rolex is the best bet… submariners.. gmts… Daytonas… hell even the Milgauss is not bad either

    • @LewisMa
      @LewisMa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      100% agreed. I just did not like the look and feel of the ad. I love the milgauss lol

    I got my z-blue Milgauss in July (my first ever Rolex) and my BLNR on jubilee (The Bruce Wayne, and my second Rolex) last Friday. Both new from two different out of state ADs. Both are keepers for me.

      @@LewisMa thanks! Its funny that you say my AD loves me because the AD in my state hasn't come up with one piece for me yet. I got those two pieces from two different ADs in two different states. Hopefully the AD in my state can get me the last piece I am looking for.

    Just dropping you a comment "for the algorithm" : ) - If you're lucky enough to be able to buy a Steel Rolex new from AD, perhaps you make money when it comes to sell. In general, though, I would never ever buy a watch just with the investment in mind, but to enjoy it for as long as possible, knowing that if one day I am forced to sell at least I would get most of my money back. That's my philosophy.
