We gift Desitin at every baby shower we are invited to. It SAVED our baby. Our poor daughter has such sensitive skin, and a sensitive tummy. We dealt with a lot of rashes that Desitin treated so well. Such an underrated product.
CAUTION! IF you have fish allergies, Desitin has cod liver oil in it! I use Aquaphor 3 in 1 diaper cream on my face (excema, allergies, and rosacea). I love it!
Two words. IT WORKS! I was traveling and came home with super duper dry skin. Used a cream called "B4 Nappi". Applied a generous layer on my face before bed for 4 days straight. My skin barrier was restored!
ive been using 25% zinc baby cream for 20 yrs 61 yr old male. amazing for rosacea and general skin health. great after ipl treatment and is highly effective as a combination sunscreen if you not self conscious. adults only.
@@aleejjj I use the zinc oxide cream on my cheeks during summer in Australia and 50 plus sunscreen on the rest/ face arms and my hat. zinc is an antiflamatory in addition its cheap as chips. as I said I don't mind the white zinc on my face not self conscious. my IPL laser treatment for my rosacea was amazing all the creams in the world cannot do a fraction of what the laser did_ broken capilaries.
@@michaeltaylor8204 and, is there any sunscreen underneath the zinc oxide on ur cheeks or its like "only" zinc on ur cheeks and sunscreen for the rest of the face?
There’s a reason why she said don’t use this as sunscreen. Zinc may be used for sunscreen but the shape and size vary drastically based off it uses. Zinc in baby cream is going to have zinc that is not formulated to reflect sun rays which is heavily dependent on the shape to reflect off. It’s also not formulated to work in the sun so it can potentially contain photo-toxic ingredients when exposed to UV. It’s fine in a pinch but I would never choose it over mineral sunscreen
I was suffering from a terrible flu, skin around my nose was so red and inflamed due to constant blowing nose and wiping my nose. I followed your suggestion on another video and put triple paste on my nose and around the mouth. The next day my skin felt so much better and the irritation went away!
Zinc oxide is the only thing that looks like it's healing my rosy cheeks. I found that out by accident. I was putting on zinc sunscreen and lo, and behold!
Fun fact! When I was 23 I had a mysterious rash in my … undercarriage … and the ONLY thing that alleviated the bumpy itchy ness was Desitin. Not vaseline, cortisone, nothing. Just Desitin. It didn’t make it go away tho. Turns out I had Shingles at 23. Wild. Oh and also dr recommend to not use Desitin on shingles but for reals that stuff was magic
I am so glad that you suggested diaper cream. It’s the only product that completely gets rid of the pink around my nose. It looks like I have foundation on the next day. The pink just disappears.
I've been using that triple paste you recommended and it's saving my destroyed lips! It seems every winter my lips go through this. Not sure if it is the weather, my tretinoin, or both.
Out of question, I was wondering why we shouldn’t use it as a sunscreen? I keep reading reviews of people raving about it when they use it as sunscreen. But wanted to know your professional opinion on it
Oh, Desitin SAVED my kids' skin so many times! My eldest used to have the worst diaper rush ever and this stuff clears it in a few hours like magic! Never thought to put it on my face though. Is it ok to use on seborrheic dermatitis?
Yes babe I just bought this from the family Dollar because you were talking about using baby butt cream and I couldn't find what you were looking for or saying so I just turned and learned my labels thanks so miss bankson I am so excited to start basting my face tea
I got the 40% one from the walmart brand for like $2.08. Are their any repercussions for using the 40% one. I used it yesterday and literally i always had like bumps/texture on my chin that weren't acne and no matter how much exfoliation i did, that texture didnt budge, literally its gone, my chin is smooth as a babys butt!
I’ve read that zinc oxide has astringent properties and that’s why mineral sunscreen can be drying to skin, how come it behaves differently and moisturizes skin when you baste?
Hmm, zinc oxide is a mild astringent mineral and can prevent the skin from secreting hydrating oils ect. If you have dry skin or an extreme raw rash it can make it worse by drying it out. One of the main goals for most diaper creams is to keep the bum dry so it doesnt get too much bacteria overgrowth and chaffing but if you need moisture real bad zinc could make it so much worse. My baby would get some acidic poops that would instantly burn the skin right off her bum. Id use desitin and it makes it look nice and soothed cause its creamy and thick so you cant see the burn anymore but it was not allowing moisture to heal!! I noticed after applying 50spf zinc sunscreen my hands were pruned up and freaky sucked dry. I think with rashes theres always a balance between healing with moisture trapping ceremides/humectants + occlusives or needing astringents and more active type ingredients. I ended up being able to tell which kind of treatment I needed at the time and went between desitin for general use and treat rawness with moisturizing salves. Just depends. Not a Dr.
The salve from the brand MotherLove is what worked really well for us. I know this post is about face rashes but I still figured I'd share my years of experience with desitin 😅
zinc ocide does not prevent the skin from producing oil. your skin will still produce the oil it feels like it needs and zinc oxide is known to absorb any excess oil.
But that’s not true if it’s too concentrated he can stay on your face for a really long time and it gets really hard to take off always check the percentage.☀️⛅️
It won’t break you out? Which kind of Desitin because one of them has a nice smell to it or at least I think so? I was just gonna go out and get me some triple paste. lol
I always use it as a sunscreen it is amazing and better than any chemical sunscreen it is safe for new born babies pregnant mums and breast feeding mums 👌
My skin hated this, I get very dry and with red bumps the morning after. Am I doing something wrong? I have tried putting nothing on before and my usual cream. I do have quite dry and sensitive skin but this made it worse
Hi My question is can I use tretinoin0.025% when trying to conceive… The thing is I have been trying to conceive for 3 years now… but no luck .. i have hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia which is under control for 1 year now… but my skin is getting too much acne which stresses me out… let me know if I can use tretinoin while trying to conceive.. maybe twice a week?
Please don’t go near vitamin a when trying to conceive. It is just not worth the risk and the risk is deformities from what I’ve researched. I’m not an expert by any means but I know enough to know it’s bad x
Hi sis I have a question. I'm on isotretinoin and I get nosebleeds these days. Just now I had nose bleed again and a blood clot came out. Should I take antiplatelet?
What’s a good percentage? I was going to get one that was like 12% and then saw a Walgreens one at like 40% zinc oxide. Would it be better to go higher? Is it too thick and uncomfortable after some point?
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. Thank you. 🕯️God bless you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 🤍

I wasn’t planning to, but curious why not to use as a sunscreen? Just not formulated to work the same?
Not effective as much as a sunscreen
Can i use zinc cream on top my retinol?
