Great video man! it's actually mind blowing how far drone tech has come in just 10 years! I remember in 2014 we were happy if our drone could maintain an image signal up to like 400meters! 🤣🤣
I’ll never forget the original Phantom 2 GoPro struggle to transmit video. $1249 for just a naked drone with no camera or mount, $349 for a two axis gimbal, $399 for a GoPro 3 Black, $139 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver, $89 for OSD upgrade, $79 for BlueBeam antennas…
We gotta give DJI credit. I know they are quite pricey on some drones but they still open entry level prices. They really sticked to their goal, "Everyone can fly". This was their motto when they only had inspire, phantom pro on their shelf.
Firstly, great video; it really was a good watch. The Mini 4 Pro, which so far has not been mentioned in reviews has a dedicated landing light and night mode. The Flip needs prop guards due to its lack of sensors. The Flip has an IR sensor, not liDAR. Another review shows he Flip suffers from the Jello effect due to wind. I think this is a good upgrade to a Neo but the lack of wind resistance, louder props, lack of sensors, no LED landing light, night mode, and lack of way points to mention some things makes the Mini 4 Pro worth that extra money.
Go with Mini 4 Pro which is main ship for DJI series (Yeah more than Mavic ones due to selling numbers), no adventure. Glad to have Mini 4 Pro as professional video editor.
I bring my mini 4 pro and Neo with me all the time so combining both those drone together, will save space for sure. mind you the flip looks big even when folded
I also have the Neo then upgraded to the Mini 4 Pro after a month. When you travel with your drones, do you bring two separate controllers? I'm thinking of bringing both of my drones on an upcoming trip but just want to bring the RC2
crazy how cheap this drone is! i checked all the details and not a lot of differences between the flip and the mini 4 pro exept for sensors! the sound difference is significant! will still keep my mini 3 pro for now
Considering both drones, I'm all for the quieter voice of the 4 Pro, and the more complete obstacle avoidance. The only thing I prefer about the Flip are the propeller guards. I was thinking that aftermarket prop guards would solve that for the 4 Pro, but after watching reviews of the various kinds, they're not a great solution. They actually nullify the obstacle avoidance, and make the drone work much harder in wind.
You have done a lot of comparisons of the camera of each drone? I was under the imression that the same camera in both drones? I would think they would be the same unless I am missing something.
Image processing power. The 4P has bigger cpu and is less stressed while processing the same code, which means less artifacts, more stability. Eg. the mini 3 pro has the same camera also but the image quality (of the 4) is slightly better because the processor can handle more image processing firmware
That eagle shot is beautiful. You've really sold me on the FLIP, I just recently got the Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI action 5, and I feel like that FLIP would be a fantastic addition for my first drone. I wonder how it would be as a bts follow cam for when I'm shooting projects (I mainly work with Blackmagic Ursa's and pockets for my video work), but since the osmo / action is good enough quality to cut into for specialised shots, I can't see why the FLIP footage can't be used with my blackmagic cameras either, especially with the visuals you've shown here.
The comparison I was looking for! Thank you! It's my first drone, and it makes sense to start out with the Flip for the identical camera and sensor with that sweet 10bit D-LOG M 😃
I don't think the two drones will be any different in terms of image quality. Both record in 4k 100 and have D-Log, but in terms of obstacle avoidance the Mini 4 Pro is ahead. Nevertheless, the flip is an exciting drone for this price.
That’s a great question. The answer depends on what you want to use the drones for. If you want to fly FPV then 100% keep the Neo. If you want to use it like a normal camera drone and for quick shots etc, then I would sell the Neo and get the Flip. It does all of that WAY better than the Neo does
Yeah. The flip and mini 4 pro are just a straight upgrade in basically every way. The flip and m4p have pros and cons, so it mainly comes down to preference on the specific features you want. The flip will be closer to the Neo in terms of feature set if you like what it offers, but just better all around. The mini 4 pro just adds 360 obstacle avoidance and the ability use larger >250g batteries. But if battery life while over 250g and side/rear obstacle avoidance are irrelevant to you, then the flip is better. If the flip had omni sensors, then it would be the best sub 250g drone.
Cool video. I didn’t even know there was a new DJI drone coming out. I hope DJI gives us the option for the mini 4 pro to fly without a controller with a software update, when we need it for follow mode. That would be the cream of the crop 👌🏻
Great review! 👏 I’m wondering if there are any differences in the follow functions between the Flip and Mini 4 Pro? Which one would you recommend as a follow drone for activities such as trail biking, bike park riding, and alpine skiing?
Great video man! I'm thinking of getting a new smaller drone than my air 3, I mainly want to film myself running and cycling, which one you think I should get? Mini 3 pro or 4 pro or the flip? Thank you in advance !
I'm looking for a beginner drone for my first timer, should i go for the mini 3 pro or the flip? The wind resistant, the ease of handling and price are pretty similar.

Add to that omni-directional obstacle avoidance and I now know what to upgrade my mini-2 with. Prop-guards? Avanta 2 or mountable on my Mini 2. PS. EUR/USD Exchange rate for the Flip is wrong @ 12:14
Does the older Mini Pro have those automated piloting modes like Circle and Rocket? Is it missing some? Do they ever give firmware upgrades to add these new features?
Hi thank you for the video. I just got the mini 4 pro and having a little buyer's remorse. I'm still confused with the tracking, does it have more features aside from pushing the button on the drone? Couldn't the 4 mini pro also track you but you just hide the controller after you set it?
This is a good question. DJI likely won’t introduce the same autonomous tracking features that the Neo and Flip have to the Mini line. To separate the lineup better and because the Flip and Neo have prop guards built in. I believe the Mini 4 Pro can do most of the same kind of tracking I demonstrated here but the difference is you will have to use the controller. Where’s with the Neo and Flip you can do it all without a controller
Oh yes it will be a huge upgrade over the Mini 2. Better battery life, much better camera, better wind resistance, more features etc. would be a great upgrade for you 🙌🏼

But of course, it is not your fault. Unfortunately, the institutions are corrupt and part of the people in my country chose an ex-convict as president of the republic. He has a strong leftist bias. He is literally killing the people with so many taxes. Sorry for the rant. Keep up the good videos and bring new news.
At the end dji after ieb year is selliing the same shit....same technology already old what 1 year or more???
This is a whole new designed drone so it’s definitely not the same stuff!
Different strokes for different folks, this one has different features, can fly itself but not FPV like neo, has a camera like m4pro but doesn't do true vertical. I'm sure the range is great too.
@@stankozniewski9385 Yeh I didn't speak about range but it will be equal to Mini 4 Pro
Performance is the same more or less….if course mixed with something “new”….yeah different target of people
Great video, drone potato. What an ugly thing. Dji doesn't know what to do to cover the entire market, but with this drone they intend to compete with the Hover X1 Pro? Impossible. This doesn't fit in a pocket and is a poorly designed contraption. What a disappointment.
Drone potato 😂 I quite like the design. Wish it had better wind resistance though
Portability(pocketability), to be honest, I would go to Mini4Pro
Looks, I'll go with Mini 4 Pro
Which has more pano modes, mini4pro or Flip?
They both have identical pano modes. Vertical, wide angle and 360
I think the mini 4 pro still wins but this is a great beginner drone for kids to use without breaking easily
