I am so excited to try 12.4.....very confident my expectations are FAR too high 🤣
My friend in Canada got his FSD trial today
Dilton where did you get that shirt? Love the blue and the fit.
@Dillon
Elon has figured out a way to expand his wealth and influence without sharing much of it with investors, employees, or governments (the people!). His stated goals are to inhabit Mars, reduce climate change, and control AI for a better life. He can do this with the incredible wealth provided by Tesla, SpaceX, and his other companies (~7).
The combination is disrupting major sectors of the economy: autos(mobility), oil (energy), space, and information (the internet, media, financials and government (policies/laws)). His wealth is growing exponentially at about 20%/year compound annual growth rate (CAGR).
Previously he had a goal of 20 M car sales / yr =~ 20% of the global auto sales/yr
but switched to "all in on robo taxis" which may not need 20 M cars/year
but a self driving level 3 conveyance with lower cost per mile than alternatives. Partly by very high utilization, 80%? of a 24 hr day vs. personal autos 6%/year, so that many investors and employees will have other than "nil or negative".
No! Not until Mars is inhabited and there is no more global warming … maybe!
Please supply your answer.
My MYLR got 12.3.6

I'm waiting for "Day 1 recipients" to be upset at not getting the latest and greatest!
The tesla board did not approve a $56,000,000,000 pay package in 2018. They approved a series of stock options that were worth the options multiplied by the share price which closed 2018 at around $22.
Over the following 4 years the market voted and decided that the work that Elon and the board did meant that the shares were worth alot more. If Elons options all vested in 2018 share price terms his package would be worth about 6.7 billion. The additional $50 billion is from the increased value that the market has decided Tesla is worth.
To those people who think that the value that Tesla added to the company over 4 years is not worth the money then they should sell. If you do not sell then you are agreeing that the value added to the company is worth the work done to get there.
Dillon, your videos have grown to the length of the evening news sans ads, and yet somehow pack in ten times the useful information, presented with integrity, honesty, wisdom, ACTUAL ACCURATE FACTS, and proper research. Well done!
i run it at 1.75 speed, way too long for a daily update
Dilllon has a global audience, so, yeah, speeding it up sometimes is what I do, too.
It's all good.
Some live people I wish I could speed up to 1.5. 😂
A carbon copy of Tesla
We just drove Minnesota to Utah, California and now in Arizona and FSD 12.3 has been fantastic. I have been able to take several friends on long drives with no intervention. I am really excited for 12.4 and then 12.5. Some drives have been 12 hours long and FSD makes it so great that I was not even the least bit tired and that is great for an 80 year old.
I am 76 and find the fatigue reduction a real game changer
Roughly how many interventions would you run into during a 12 hour drive?
How much would you be willing to pay per month for FSD if it becomes as good as any Uber driver?
Voted with the board recommendations

I intend to, but I am not agreeing with their recommendation on deep sea mining. I don’t see why that is necessary, and would be very damaging.
@@davebway6371 I have heard of that. Deep sea mining for what???
The one thing legacy auto makers do more efficiently than Tesla is losing money on EVs
Legacy auto apparently understands its customers very well. Given the sales of ICE cars are greater than 90% of the US market and hybrids strongly on the rise it appears legacy provides the majority of customers with what they want and desire. 🤔

Thank you much for keeping the Tesla news real. I voted all my shares this week - hoping to keep Elon motivated! :)
Voted a good chunk of shares with all the board recommendations.
I have 12.3.6 and it’s pretty amazing! Still not there yet but it really is incredible. I can’t wait to see the improvements coming over the next year.
FSD is pretty amazing! My 65-year old mother uses it everyday on her Y and she's not a technical person at all. She has noticed how much better it has become over the last few months. I don't have a Tesla but if I did I'd be using FSD everyday too. CT is reserved and hopefully FSD will be ready for it by the time I get the call to order (probably a year or two fro now).
Fsd will be on it, don't you worry ;)
Also, you will love the cybertruck, my Cyberbeast is by far the best vehicle I've ever owned.
Uses it every day, until it makes a hard left on the highway and rams the Jersey barrier. Or a hard right and rams the rear of a brightly striped ambulance or fire truck.
Remember, Tesla has never explained these widely reported incidents or how they *think* they've solved them.
Or who will build out a supercharger network, now that Tesla has said they will not.
@@lyfandeth I'll call bullshit on your claims. Can you post a video of your Tesla in fsd doing this behavior? Hell, I'd pay you $1,000 for the footage but I know you're lying.
Facts are facts, 500k users and how many real accidents? Like 2??
I voted yes for the package
Tuesday (5/14/24) I configured my CYBERBEAST! My second new vehicle (2002 Dodge/Cummins 3500) costing a little more ($42,000-$120,000+) but it will probably be my last pickup. I hope! I don’t remember choosing any options…just checking a couple of boxes and deciding who would disburse the $$.
It was the price reduction, not the demo that made me decide to purchase FSD.
I bought it at $15,000 and consider it a bargain.
Axing the price works. (Or economics is a lie.)
I started my free 30 day trial of FSD today. I am absolutely blown away with how well it drives, even on my gravel roads

Voted my shares with the Board today
You may have said "where's the line between hopeful Engineering projects and actual production promises", maybe we can ask the staff who took on responsibility for the job.
Voted my 1500 shares !!! _a pee-hole in the snow bank_
Well done 🎉
Curious how much voting my shares actually mattered, I did the math of my shares over the shares outstanding (~3.2 billion) and was surprised to notice it actually wasn't too shabby--like 1 in 4.5 million. So yours is more like 1 in 2.2 million. Much more individual say than most country's national elections and plenty of US statewide elections.
It all counts. Retail investors are 42%
I'm serious when I ask this: I have had zero interventions that didn't involve route changes. Unless they're counting accelerator "nudges" when FSD is being too conservative, how could it be 10X? I guess when you're looking at the entire fleet, 10X is possible, but I suspect it's a small number getting smaller. E.g. 0.1% to 0.01%
I agree, Communication is the key, whether it is with shareholders, customers, or your family especially spouse, goes a long way with hearing and understanding on both sides of every conversation.
Frankly, I have my shares on an European Bank. I have now tried to get the voting issue solved and as a last resort I tried to register directly in Tesla IR, uploading a scan where my shares are listed. I did not even get an acknowledging e-mail from them for submitting my registration. Now, it could be that Elon also fired the granny going through those registrations in IR, I have yet to hear about one person that was successful this way. If Tesla is so hell bent to get this vote going, they might actually try to take care that a substantial part of retail investors, for example from Europe, have reasonable support to get their votes in. If the voting goes south, I can only say - Karma's a b...
Yeah, that won't work, since a European bank can not give you a document to prove that you are the rightful owner of the shares that can be approved by American financial institutions in a way that would immediately stand up to scrutiny by American government institutions. I am not an investment banker, but my understanding is that your shares must be registered and "kept" in an American institution of some sort. The process is convoluted and far from cheap for a small-time European retail investor.. But if you are a Euro-millionaire or there about, this is doable.
Given the plan to increase import duty on Chinese sourced EVs to 100% you would think this would practically eliminate Volvo and Polestar from the US market. Ouch.
Thanks for the update Dillon.
A friend with a model Y decided to try the free trial FSD...he was extremely impressed, and bragged to me constantly about how 'human-like', safe and effective it was, literally taking him home from a parking lot, to the hospital, negotiating one lane roads...on and on! In an entire month he seldom needed to intervene.
When the trial period was over, did he subscribe? Nope. Did he buy? Nope.
Why, I asked?
He really couldn't, or wouldn't, give me a logical, satisfactory answer.
Now multiply that times a significant number of the trial users...and you get that weird take rate, which I suspect is nearer to the truth than Elon wants to admit.
Now all we need to do is figure out why people will use it and admit it is fabulous, but refuse to pay for it. I consider this a strange and illogical mindset.
I just got my Proxy Ballot yesterday. I am definitely going vote as suggested! If I hadn’t gotten the ballot I was about ready to ask my broker what I should do to make sure I was able to vote. But, I’m all set now.
I just ordered the monthly version of FSD after using the free 30 day trial. My concerns are with the Robo Taxi. I think it's too advanced a concept that the public nots ready to accept. About 6 months ago I saw a post with Elon and most of the executives that were laid off. Elon wanted to oh all in Robo but the executives were in favor of hedging their bets on the model 2. This may be the conflict that cause the executive layoffs. These offed exectives also have a lot of Tesla shares that could impact the voting results
I realized something pretty important. these funds are here to make money from stock at the end of the day. they KNOW that retail would make a mass exodus if elon quit for this reason, and this would send the stock in a self fulfilling downward spiral. unless these firms are okay with the stock plummeting, they would be foolish to not approve the vote. They're smart enough to put one and one together. Elon has them hostage via retails general love for him and retails now substantial ownership.
I’d say the like is when I had to pay 3k for autopilot and an additional 1k for a computer upgrade to be able to subscribe to FSD and still couldn’t get the beta.
It’s great I use it now. But I definitely burned some cash on behalf of Elon’s words.
thank you Dillon🙂
If the vote doesn’t go musks way….by by tesla…FYI…after my 30 day trial I opted in on the $99 per month subscription…2022 Y Performance…
If we don’t plateau, and improvements can keep coming at this rate FSD will be good enough to run the robotic fleet soon.
Keep shares in Tesla. You can do a hundred things wrong but all it takes is doing one great thing to skyrocket. Tesla is very capable of doing that.
I’m not sure if i already had shares then. How can i check this and how can i vote?
Regardless if you like or hate Elon. He made Tesla and has inspired people. Tesla is not only about vehicles. I think fsd and robots will make Tesla stock to the moon.
I agree Elon played a great part in Tesla’s success, but I disagree that FSD will make Tesla stock go to the moon. There is not that much money in Robotaxi to 5x Tesla market cap. Elon’s emotional firing of supercharging team is a very disappointing behavior of a CEO.
He didnt make tesla, he stole it from the inventors
Elon is the one that around the GLOBE that Made America Great Again and not the 🤡 claiming for nor Sleepy Joe and fairytale aunt Mary from GM. Hi there, I own some TESLA INC CDR (CAD HEDGED) Is there any way I can vote those shares?
I’m no expert but it seems to me that there are two massive, unproven assumptions at work with Mr. Must. 1. A large number of drivers will be willing to pay a premium for FSD (if it’s eventually approved). 2. People will actually buy robotaxis
Just updated to 2024.14.6 in Europe, FSD ready model S. The visualisations have completely changed, massive difference.

Holding off my Powerwall purchase until we have the PW 3 in Australia.
The same hear. Nickel-based battery for home storage these days is dumb. Tesla are too slow on LFP's for storage. Most, if not all, other battery manufacturers make LFP systems for home storage.
@@solofreelancer Many other home battery alternatives to Tesla. I find the Tesla solution (while excellent) to be nearly 3 times the price of LFP wall power solutions out of China. The Tesla prices are painful.
High probability Elon leaves if he doesn’t receive what he is owed. Us share holders are taking this pretty lightly. Everyone really needs to vote.
Where is the line between prediction and promises? That's what we have judges and juries for.
You forget this is a free country. You can believe what you want.
The shareholders promised Elon compensation if he hit the numbers. He did, so pay up!!
@@tedmoss But our collective beliefs lie in the rule of law--so it doesn't matter what you individually believe, it's about who can make the most compelling case around legalese.
Based on other class action lawsuits, even if Tesla loses they'll probably owe like $100 per person tops haha.
Continuing to optimize to increase the number of miles before intervention is good for now. But how do you make the transition to unattended driving? For instance if 1/4 of interventions would have prevented an accident is 25,000 miles before intervention enough? That would mean unattended driving would result in 1 accident every 100,000 miles. Which including fender benders is likely better than your average human. And where does the feedback come from once you have unattended driving? Just accident analysis? While I'm a huge Tesla fan, with significant (for me) investment the road ahead still looks fairly long to me.
Well I opted for both, hope your fears have no basis. Are still buying?
🙏vote. Only take 2 min and make a big difference
Dillon - when you are contrasting things, you always says 'X vers Y'. The correct term is 'versus'.
Can shareholders in the UK vote on the pay deal?
It's quite obvious that the June vote is completely different vote than the 2018 one, so the way somebody voted back then does not tell you much. I still think it will pass, because like Elon or not, his achievements as CEO of Tesla are undeniable.
I voted yes also
EV Mr D ✔️🖖🌎 Exactly!
I don't understand why anyone would vote against the board recommendations unless you are doing a hostile takeover.

I can see that fsd could be a real moneymaker with robotaxis. But, I can't see it making a lot of money outside that. I absolutely LOVE the idea of a self-driving car, and would absolutely want one. But not for $100/month. I would never pay anywhere close to that for it. I'd want it to be part of the car I bought, no monthly payment, and I would pay AT MOST about $2000 for the feature.
Just voted!
Greeley is pronounce with a hard "g" sound like in GO. Look it up.
Tesla should issue a one time special dividend for its aggrieved shareholders. They have a lot cash.
The fund managers that didn’t vote for the plan in 2018 had not had the increase in value at the time. For them to vote against at this time would only hurt their own pockets and so the possibility that they change to positive vote is 1500% higher Hopefully
In in the NY area outside of NYC. I'm not sure the version change will do much for the problems I encounter with FSD, I feel it's often problems with their mapping data and not really a problem with FSD per se. Seems like it usually gets the speed limit wrong on local roads and highways, if it were reading signs I think it would be fine, but it must be leverage map data for speed limits.
NIO's car looks very similar to Tesla's Model Y!
My first thought as well.
To be fair, OEMs buying FSD licensing from Tesla without doing their own R&D would be more ‘efficient’. 😂
Fans seem to be missing the main point that came out, the compensation plan just followed the already projected growth at the time, which wasnt disclosed at that time. The valuation increase was mostly already baked in. Something more reasonable would have been less controversial.
"Baked in"?
You forget that the "projected" growth was almost universally ridiculed by "Experts" at the time?
.
What would have been "more reasonable"?
.
It was a plan essentially providing a percentage of ownership of the company, *irrespective* of "cash value".
.
It could have been *ZERO* (Bankrupt) let's face it, *throughout* that period, many "pessimists" were suggesting it *WOULD* be zero! Correct?
.
It wasn't even a single "survive to the end and be paid" arrangement.
It had to be a sustained, consistent improvement at every point over the whole period.
.
How are TSLL and TSLT voting?
20 million plus annually for GM , Ford and other auto CEO’s? To much for any position.

We could use an update on whatever is happening at the Li plant down by Corpus Christi - like when is it going to operate, exactly how far down the processing chain it will go and will they be using that in GTX, will they need to ship it somewhere else for processing (and if so, when will that intermediate movement end) and how will all this be affected if they don't continue with 4680 at the EOY ? Likewise with the facility for node materials... been a long time, seems critical in the chain with China issues afoot...
Most of the software in Legacy OEM cars is not proprietary. It's white label.
More efficiently could mean simply licensing it !!!
Surely robotaxi will simply use the wireless charging option, easy! The rest of us will follow in time, as with mobile phones.
The worst thing about the China tariffs is that it stifles adoption of the vastly superior LFP technology
The only thing moving slower than that Diner is GigaMexico
At least they're not "Pulling back" like everyone else?
Legacy auto cannot compete with an industry that moves this fast and they can no longer afford to pretend to be in the game.
They will all buy into an Asian company and merely slap their badges on the grills. They were planning to go with Chinese companies but Biden just crushed those plans.
I suspect Korea, Vietnam, etc. will begin cloaking Chinese tech so that the 100% tariffs can be bypassed and GM and Ford can start importing EVs in 2026.

Charging speeds improve rather regularly and I agree with you. More chargers and faster charging is needed.
The CORRECT chargers, in the CORRECT places, in the CORRECT quantity are needed.

What is ALSO needed?
Commitment by *other* companies to provide such facilities *At reasonable cost*

It's not a case of "Thanks a lot Tesla! Can we have MORE!?"

Has it occurred to you that the planned Tesla ramp was based on (at least) breaking even, which required the projected number of customers from other brands?
.
How about that those numbers declined A LOT when those brands announced recently they were (are) "pulling back"?
.
"But Tesla said they would build MORE!!" doesn't really work for Tesla if 80% of those new units only get 20% of their predicted use?
@@rogerstarkey5390 Much will change I think such as a large increase in the number of level 1 chargers chargers at work, etc. Since the Tesla Supercharger network is self supporting, the expansion will resume with after a return to free cash flow.
Hello Dillon
you are doing a great job - to underline the importance of the Robotaxi and FSD for humanity at large
this was the headline of a charity highlighting the plight of disabled persons
Disabled people are being excluded from using electric cars by inaccessible charging infrastructure
This is May be true anywhere in the world. May if Elon Musk was to be told he may instigate action and once again prove Tesla leads the world in everything related to EV’s
Am I the only one who's concerned about how rapidly this FSD Beta is being pushed out into the wild? Yes, I know it's really good, but why risk people doing stupid things with it, putting lives at risk by trusting it absolutely? What's the rush? It would be far better to roll this out slowly and verify that it's very safe. We're only just at the point where it's stopped being pretty sketchy. This is where it can all go horribly wrong and face backlash.
So if I own 1 million shares, is my voice louder in the vote scale ? ( compared to if I only own 500 shares) ?
No side mirrors? Does anyone remember how many years of global industry attempts it took to allow non-sealed beam headlights, after all of the EU had them?
The law say a vehicle MUST HAVE mirrors. It makes no distinction about drivers.
Take rate trivial. If FSD successful it won't matter because the m oney is in the taxis
I thought BYD had announced last year that they are phasing out their hybrid models and switching to all-electric? Typical OEM BS.
I support Elon getting the payment but I think it might be a bit unfair to shareholders. In my opinion what he should get is what he would have gotten if the share price was reached around 200-250 (post split) and not what it actually did. That is because the stock went that high based on future expectations which Elon stretched a bit. Solar business is gone. 4680 has failed. DOJO also failed. 20M cars…even 8M might not be easy now. Don’t even want to mention robotaxi/ FSD. He can have another compensation plan that will give him all those and more and the stock will shoot up if he gets just FSD complete well before others.
He once said everyone will have FSD and Tesla’s advantage is manufacturing. Looking at the Chinese cars, that’s definitely not the case.
I voted yesterday in line with the board.
"more efficient" could equate to licensing from Tesla instead of spending all of the time & money going in the wrong direction (like Tesla did)
While I'm not sure that Elon actually deserves that much, the fact that there was a contract agreeing to pay him that amount, and the courts stripped that away with no other reason then to claim Elon had a lot of influence over the board is just insane. If courts can just overturn contracts with such flimsy reasons, then contracts are worth very little.
Grok tells me around 10% of tesla owners had FSD prior to the trial offer. If this increased by only 2% that would be 20% growth in the user base -- a huge jump. And Elon suggests the actual number is much higher. Sounds like the strategy is working fine.
Yupit survey had a sample size of over 3k which is very high and should yield pretty accurate assessment of reality. I personally was annoyed by FSD since it had difficulty even getting out of my neighborhood. It kept turning into an apt complex and getting stuck. Other issues were potholes, very timid and uncertain under just normal conditions. I think we are still good 2 years away from true level 5.
‘I think’ based on what assessment? Gut feeling? Hahaha.
Your points seem credible, but progress is not linear but exponential. You can see this from the many public TH-cam fsd videos.
Isn't it telling that the Delaware court never found the Boeing CEO package unfair😂. Our establishment fails upward and they hate Elon for actually succeeding and exposing their incompetence.
Tesla's Megapack factory in China will be exclusively for Export.
I can't see that China will use US software driven products in their critical infrastructure. Megapacks are just not for the chinese Market. However, I think Europe, Austrailia and Southeast Asia will be supplied with Megapacks from China.
I'm voting for the pay package, but wonder why Tesla is embracing adverting for this and not their cars.
Hired a team so..
2:04 My main frustration with Tesla is that production is no longer hard. After letting China copy the innovative production supply chain, multiple brands have now master the EV production process. Tesla is effective a R&D center for the master that controls its peoples freedom of speech. For that I vote against Elon’s package, since the growth driver of Giga Shanghai is an indirect technology sale to the master. It’s not a long term sustainable growth after the master copies your innovations.
Powerwalls to Europe!
I would vote but I can not??!! My fear is that Tesla will have strong problems, even disappear!!
These voting rules you mentioned, would I be correct in assuming they were in place from the get go? Or, is there skullduggery a foot?
