@dupont4sure The output shaft itself might have some play in it if you take the yoke out but with the yoke in it should not have much wiggle to it. If it moves alot and is destroying your rear seal then it could be your extension housing bushing is worn.
should your output shaft move up and down and side to side?and what would be wrong your bearing and bushing or one or the other and how would you change them?
How tight is the overdrive band suppose to be? I have mine in but can't seem to get the servo to compress enough to get the snap ring installed. Any ideas?

@bah53 You need to replace the output shaft. Replacing the output shaft requires removing all the guts from the trans as its the first thing to go in.
@thick2licknstick I'm not sure, ive never had a 4X4 one to look at, but I bet it could probably be done.

about 3.5 hours for me. but I've pulled the same tranny several times. it's almost as if it's got a zipper on it now.
What size is the check ball that holds the gov in place.? I lost mine and cant find the size info anywhere! Please help! thanks
